After Id been recommended by a family member to Master Tech as a good alternative to a main dealer for Japanese cars I booked my 10 year old Lexus in for a Friday morning at 9 am with starting problems - possible starter motor or battery issues. I turned up at at 9 am handed my keys over to the reception and thats when things started to go wrong. I was told that someone would be out to talk to me about my car soon and to wait in reception. I said I would wait for the car as this was a minor fix for any garage. An hour passed and thankfully Id taken a book to pass the time away. After two hours had passed I inquired to reception as to what was happening with the car. Told she would go and check at once, another 30 minutes passed when the receptionist came over to where I was sat waved a piece of paper in my face and told me I needed a new battery. It didnt take a Sherlock Holmes to diagnose this. I agreed that they could go ahead and replace the battery. Another 20 minutes passed and I was told everything was ready for me to collect the car and it would be outside waiting for me . I paid the $114 for the battery and walked out to the lot. The car wasnt outside in the lot, it was still in the bay with the hood up and two mechanics struggling to put a new battery in . I waited. After nearly 4 hours and traveling from Davis I had a new battery. I did not receive any apology for the wait or explanation as to why it had taken 4 hours to replace a battery. I believe Master Tech were too embarrassed to charge me any labor. And to cap it all I got home to find the reception had called my wife at home to tell her I needed a new battery when I was sat 6 feet away. I could have called into any tire and battery shop and had this job done in 30 minutes. Ill never be back here.

My engine quit on my 92 Accord without warning while I was on my way North from the Bay Area, luckily I was close to these guys. Even though it was a Saturday, they were more than willing to take my car into the shop as soon as it was towed and do anything they could to get me back on the road. I really didnt expect my car to be fixed in a matter of hours but they did it. What really set them apart for my situation, is that their mechanics are skilled and efficient at troubleshooting and worked together to find and isolate the issue to a failed component. They were also working on cars much newer and more complicated than mine and still troubleshooting accurately. The manager was good about updating me and the other customers in the waiting area about what the mechanics were trying and what they found. If youre in their area and your car breaks down, I would highly recommend giving them a call.

My wife is disabled and we have a used Dodge Caravan, Braun Entervan (Ramp access for wheelchairs). I have used MasterTech for most of my previous and current vehicles, Japanese or otherwise. Rich and his staff are thorough, thoughtful and very reasonable with labor fees. The recent service was to replace shocks and struts, which was the first time for this vehicle at 56K. Because of the extra weight for the ramp system, this van required a special extra heavy duty rear shock. Rich researched this and sourced the parts. With the new suspension all around this van handles like a new car, you cannot really feel the extra weight. This will be of great benefit to my wife who has frequently had spikes of pain due to bumps in the road with this vehicle. Thanks to Rich and The Master Tech Staff for your great work.

I have got to thank Master Tech for the amazing job they did on our car. They truly went above and beyond what a mechanics shop has to do. We were on our way home from Lake Shasta to Southern CA when it just failed! The auto shop at Walmart referred us to Master Tech and they were so helpful! Not only did they diagnose exactly what was wrong they ordered the parts right away and were very thorough in fixing the car. We didnt have a single problem going home. On top of the great mechanics they also helped us look for a hotel to stay in the area and dropped us off and picked us up. I sincerely wish we had a Master Tech in Southern CA because they would be my ONLY mechanics ever! Thanks again for a phenomenal job.

My mother went there they said that she need an O2 sensor to pass smog she bought an O2 sensor from them they charge her $247 , at AutoZone it cost 120.00 after paying for that they said that the car didnt pass smog now theyre telling her she needs to buy a Cadillac converter for 2000.00.. ask my mom to ask them to get the smog test results and they still have not finding it very bad experience very unprofessional if you get a smoge and you pay for a smoge you should get the test results immediately with your car. If your smog test results show that you barely didnt pass then you dont need a Cadillac converter most of the time thats why its important to get your results. (Still waiting for results ?

I must say that out of all the mechanics out there, I trust Richard at Master Tech the most (known him over 5 years). He is one straight shooter who is not only a man of integrity, but he knows what hes doing. Though theyre all the way out in Woodland (I live in Davis) I dont hesitate at all to go to his shop because I know that I will not be over-charged and I can trust what he tells me about my vehicle.

I was on my way to Washington from Fresno when my car broke down in woodland I took my car to this guys next morning and Im glad I didnt look anywhere else, I did to this inflation they were trying to save me money include me back on the road as soon as possible and plus they give me a ride to my hotel room and pick me up when the car was done

We love and trust Master Tech for all of our repairs and servicing. I really respect that they are willing to tell us when something doesnt need to be replaced yet. Most places would just do it and charge you even if not needed.
