Im was in Breck from out-of-town and relied on the reviews to pick a place to get my hair cut! My stylist was Tonda! I have never been so dissappointed... I walked out in tears. I donated my hair. I asked her to cut only the minimum (8 inches) and leave it as long as possible (b/c im getting married in a few months). She cut it off with scissors (other always use a razor when making the initial cut for donation so its an even cut while holding it straight down). She held it out; therefore, the top layer was much shorter than the bottom layers. She had told me that it would be shoulder length and i was ok with that... as soon as she made the cut (chin length) i knew that it was far from shoulder length. I had specifically said NO A-LINE .. .and she cut an A-line (shorter in the back & longer in the front). I have a stacked bob A-line. The ponytail that was cut off for donation was 10" when I said to cut 8." (she just "guessed" when making the cut" I thought the cut was descent; however it was not at all what I asked for. I will never take another risk like that and will only go to stylists that I know will listen to what I want. I didnt like that atmosphere... it was very loud and distracting. It was not a relaxing salon by no means. I thought I was making a good decision when I went with the Aveda Salon. Getting your hair cut (especially donating it) should be a fun, relaxing experience where you feel good about what you are doing. I do not want to scar anyone who is considering donating their hair for women with cancer. It is a wonderful cause and I wish more people would be willing to donate (remember to bring a ruler)! I will continue to donate my hair but will never go back to Tonda or anyone at the Breckenridge Hair Co.

First of all, I need to apologize for not writing a review sooner. My wedding was July 24th and we planned it as a surprise. Living out of town from Breck and having all of our guests coming from out of town to what they thought was going to be a graduation party was quite a challenge! But for us, no need to worry because Tonda went completely out of her way to make sure everything worked out! She housed my dress, my Matron of Honors Dress, shoes, all my flowers and misc. things needed the morning of so we didnt have to sneak them past 30 people staying at the cabin we were throwing this amazing party in. She basically took me in as her bride for the week even following up with me several times the week before to make sure I was comfortable with having all my things there. When we showed up, my sister (Matron of Honor) had no idea what was going on and everyone at the salon played it out perfectly like they had no clue who I was until I finally unleashed the surprise. They made us feel completely at home, allowing my future sister in law to make us food and drinks while having our manicures, pedicures and hair done. Amy did my hair and did an incredible job! Without Tonda, Amy and the Breckenridge Hair Company who knows how well we could have pulled off this surprise! 60 guests and no one knew! Being a bride putting on this kind of a wedding could have been very stressful! I know I have thanked Tonda several times, but I again wanted to show my gratitude to Tonda and Amy for making my day stress free, wonderful and taking such good care of my sisters! You girls are amazing! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

First of all I never let anyone ANYONE touch my hair let alone cut it. I had hair down to my glutes when I first came to Tonda in 07. I sat in her chair and gave her full reign, all I said was Im sick of having it up all the time,chop it off. I trusted her completely. Im open and willing to express myself thru my hair so it was easy Within minutes we were creating a masterpiece. I loved how she listened to my input and communicated her plans and reasons. I felt completely at ease and welcome to be honest about hesitations etc. My hair is stubborn and caullicky?(sp), but she has patience and the knowledge to handle it. So here we are now many years and hair styles/colors later, each even better than the last. Im excited for my next hair cut even tho the one I have now is pretty awesome! We explore colors and cuts that match the season and or mood.Sometimes we even break out the razor for a fun edgy look. I love that I have an open and fun relationship with my stylist. I can come in if Im having a bad hair day and someone here will wash and style my hair and the price makes it well worth it! I love love love Breck hair! I have been sending friends and co workers here also for years and everyone comes back raving! :) Thank Mel for opening the and hiring the best! Tonda.. keep up the good work! You guys are the best! I researched places in Breckenridge to get my hair cut when my family and I were visiting. I just have not found a stylist in my town that I LOVE and I wanted to go to someone who knew how to give a good pixie cut. After reading and researching I decided on Breckenridge Hair Company. Little did I know they were and AVEDA salon, which I LOVE! I saw Mandy and Oh My Goodness I am so happy I did. I was cutting more than 14 inches of hair off to go with a pixie cut. Before she started she said "I can give you a good cut and get you out of here fast or you can let me take my time and I will give you a great cut." I opted for her to take her time and we took 2 hours! She was very easy to work with, she worked with the various inspiration pictures I had and made something just for me. She gave me my first cut and asked how I was feeling about it so that I was not in too much shock. When I said go for it, she did and beautifully. Not only did I love my hair cut but I loved the service (free wine), the time she spent with me showing me how to style my new cut, the recommendations for products and my stylist. I know that I will make an appointment to see Mandy everytime I am in Breckenridge. Thank you again for an AMAZING cut and style.

As much as I would not like to give away my favorite stylist, Tonda, I would have to say that she is the best hairstylist Ive ever had. After reading the neg reviews, I have to say something. I have been with Tonda for 3 yrs, which is the longest Ive been loyal to any stylist. Im Chinese and have straight hair. Its been really hard to find someone who can cut and style my hair because I like my hair short at the shoulders. Other stylists would make my face look huge and round. She can make it look really modern, yet soft to compliment my face. I trust her to cut my hair as she sees fit and Im always happy. My husband is also happy with his haircuts with Tonda. He likes his hair very short (White male, soft-curl hair texture). Most stylist would cut his hair short but in the end, it always look like his hair is smaller than his head. Tonda, knows how to cut his hair VERY short but yet complement the length with his huge head. Yeah, their salon is very laid back and simple, but they are very talented in what they do. Id rather go to talented stylists than go to a mediocre and overpriced, frou-frou salons.
