I took my daughter to this daycare years ago for about 5 months. I was recently telling a friend about my experience and decided to look online to see if it had been shut down yet. I was shocked to see that its still open and have a 3 star rating. This daycare is absolutely horrible. Most of the staff seemed mentally slow and uneducated. A friend of mine had her child there too and went to pick him up and found that the staff was allowing my daughter to eat markers. (She was under a year old) . My daughter cried like crazy every time I dropped her off and would even cry when we drove by the building. Every day when I picked her up so was so stressed out that she would run to me screaming and crying and begging to leave. The very last day that my daughter attended, I went to pick her up and it took the staff 15 minutes to find that my daughter had been accidentally locked in a bathroom with the light off. MY 1 year old daughter! I was so furious I screamed at the staff and stormed out and never came back again. They never contacted me for any money I owed and Im sure its because they knew they messed up bad. I honestly think that the positive reviews on here are phony so dont be fooled. I dont know if things have changed over the years but I thought I would share my experience just incase it hasnt. Dont take your children here.

The main positive i have to say is the price which doesnt mean much. This daycare is very unsecured. There is no security locks to get in, anybody can just walk in and go grab a child in a matter of seconds. The director of the daycare is rarely at her desk so nobody even greets you when you walk in until you walk into your childs room. The sign in and out sheet is just a piece of paper that nobody even checks so your child is never accounted for. So like i said the price is the only positive. I was paying $150 a week full time for my 10 month old. Whenever i picked up my child there was alwasys somebody new watching my kid and they never knew what was going on during the day time when my child was there. My kid was always a mess after eating and was never properly cleaned. Theyve misplaced so many bibs and couldnt keep tracks of where his coat went or what they washed of mine. There were a few caretakers that i loved but the rest were just 20 year old minimum wage kids watching my child who really didnt care to be there except for the paycheck. If i was desperate on money i would never take my child here again but it was $200 bucks less a month then everywhere else.

My son battled with failure to thrive for the first five months of being with Horizon (we have almost hit our year with them :) ). He couldnt keep food down and was extremely irritable. The owner Shanda and her amazing team took great care of him. He is now off failure to thrive as we have found he is allergic to corn..... corn is in everything! He is now on a strict diet and the team is always on top of it. They are so kind and treat my son like family. They are understanding and great with the kids. I absolutely love this childcare center! Thats why it saddens me that their are more negative comments on here than good. When people have a bad experience they are more likely to give a review. There are many moms who take their kids to them that love them. I trust this business and encourages all to visit, and meet the team. They are loving and care so much for the kids.

I have twins and they are my first babies. I struggled to find a daycare that was both affordable, and actually WORTH the money. The providers here are WONDERFUL ladies... My babies have learned so MUCH and are smiling and happy EVERY time that we pick them up. In regard to the user who posted a review about a urine smell... yes I have smelled this, but you have to remember which classroom this was in, and my own HOUSE smells that way when you walk near a trashcan full of diapers. This in NO way is negative towards an amazing center who provides care that I am very happy with. As a first time mother and somewhat of a control freak-- the women and men that take care of my babies are absolutely AMAZING. They are attentive, caring and I could NOT be happier.

I would like to share with ALL my experience at Horizons Childcare. My daughter is two and attends Horizons Childcare. She has been with Horizons Childcare since she was six weeks old. My husband and I had reserves about leaving our first born with strangers. Due to finances we had no choice. We toured many centers and wouldnt leave our daughter at any of them! But when we toured Horizons Childcare we were Very Impressed. The staff was welcoming, the center was clean, and most importantly the children were playing and laughing. Horizons Childcare has become an extended family to our daughter and us! WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND HORIZONS CHILDCRAE! The Bowlds Family

My daughter started attending this daycare when she was 1 yr old. She has been there for the last 4 yrs and we both love it. They have been a great help with everything from potty training to preparation for kindergarten. My daughter has had great relationships with all of her teachers and everyday when I pick her up she tells me about great things from the day. The staff is very helpful and replies to any questions in a very timely manner. Plus, they have updated the security so you need a code to get in now. I would recommend them to parents in a heartbeat.

THIS IS ONE OF THE WORST DAYCARES IN COLORADO SPRINGS. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TAKING YOUR CHILD HERE. THERE IS NOT SECURITY LOCKS ON THE DOORS AND IT SMELLS IN THE CLASSROOMS (MUCH LIKE URINE). THE QUALITY OF SERVICE THIS DAYCARE OFFERS IS NOT WORTH THE AMOUNT OF MONEY YOU ARE GOING TO PAY EACH WEEK FOR TAKING YOUR CHILD HERE. SOME PLACE BETTER IS OUT THERE. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE CHILDREN AS MUCH AS THEY SAY THEY DO AND THE OWNER IS VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL!!!!

I love this daycare. My son has been attending for about 5 months. The staff are friendly and take good care of son. He loves to go. The owner, her sister and staff are friendly people that go out of their way to say, "Hi" and ask how you are. When my sister went to pick him up for me one day, because they did not know her, they asked for ID. I think they classrooms could get cleaned a little more often, but I would recommend this place.

Your staff and the security of the facility need MUCH revision. I have come and picked up my nephew several times and it wasnt until the 5th time that you asked who I was and asked me to show id. I could have been a stranger off the street and you let me pick him up several times, with no questions. And your ENTIRE staff could use some training as far as customer service. I would never take my kids here. Its terrible.
