I chose Catering By Design to cater my vow renewal this past Saturday, and we were very happy with the food. We got lots of compliments from our guests, who noticed (like us) that CBD elevates flavors beyond the traditional so their customers dont end up with the dreaded "wedding food." We chose them for this very reason. Everyone at our table let us know that the food at our event exceeded their expectations; my husband and I were also very happy with everything we were able to taste. I have just a few small complaints, which I feel I should mention to serve customers in the future. These are small details, thus I still give CBD a high rating, and I want to stress the fact that in the end I was content with our experience. We did have some issues with communication; we were always responded to very quickly, but sometimes our questions were not answered. It could be that our representative just didnt understand what we were asking, but it was a bit stressful at times. However, because they always responded so quickly, the stress never lasted long, which was a plus. Our pricing also doubled after our first meeting, in the end causing us to go over-budget since we had based it on the original total. However, because their pricing was initially so reasonable, I still dont believe we were over-charged, and we are very happy with the service we received on the day of the event. We did have a small issue at the wedding with the staff (we ordered a cake with two flavors so our guests would have a choice) handing out slices of cake to our guests without giving them a choice. However, they were very apologetic, and we felt that they truly cared about our experience. The final thing I wanted to mention is that we received some complaints from other vendors about how difficult it was for them to set up the reception space when CBD was a half hour late (out of a 1.5 hour total allotted time). They were stuck in traffic, which I know can be unpredictable, but I would have thought they might prepare for the unexpected. For this reason our reception space was not completely set up, but again this is nothing our guests were aware of. Overall, I am satisfied with our experience and I think that our situation (with such a short set up time) would be difficult for any vendor. I would use CBD again for future occasions. UPDATE (9/29/11)::: Unfortunately, I have had to lower my rating of Catering By Design by one star since writing this review. I had to contact our representative after the vow renewal about a potential issue with the linen company, and she came off as rude and very short. It seems that, now that she has our money, she has no interest in practicing politeness. I now feel as though she was merely "putting on a show" throughout our prior communications. In my opinion, common courtesy is something that should be used regardless of whether or not you are being paid to do so. Half of a business is based on the quality of the products and services they provide; the other half is based on customer service. For that reason, I have decided to decrease my rating, and I would insist on working with somebody else if I were to use CBD in the future.

I question this review being real. Catering by Design did my wedding in 2008 and we had a great experience from start to end. The food was perfect, the staff were every professional! As a "just married couple" being pulled in a million directions by many people we were not able to have some of the appetizers served but they did have a plate full of all of the apps for us at our table which we ate at some point in the evening. And I have to mention that the address that this (Bride) has used as a review for Catering by Design is not their address nor was it at any time during 2008! I have and would recommend Catering by Design to anyone. "unhappy bride"- is this real? if not, why would you post lies & if this is a semi real post- think more of yourself. Let me start off by saying I worked for this company for 2 and a half years. Do to me being honest with a client about not receiving their tip I was let go. They called it unprofessionalism. I called it honesty. Supposedly we sign one contract. Their clients sign another. Its unfair how they treat their employees and lie to clients about staff getting tips. They work you for hours with no breaks and feed you if they feel like it 10 plus hours later. You dont get breaks. You may think its an amazing company through one lense but on their back burner they mislead their clients and employees by falsely lying to future clients. Think again when you want your party catered by them. Honesty is the eay to go.

Danielle and her team at Catering By Design did an amazing job at our Estes Park wedding! Our guests were blown away by the quality and presentation of the food. Many of our guests commented that is was the best food that they’ve had at a wedding. CDB really captured our vision; the chefs even created edible charcuterie centerpieces for us, which were a huge hit with our guests! The staff was professional and easy to work with. They really made the day run flawlessly. I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job CDB did. I would highly recommend them for any event!

I cant say enough good things about this caterer! We had several really good tastings, but they won us over with their flavorful food, professionalism, and decor. Our wedding coordinator, Stuart, was absolutely fantastic. He always responded quickly to emails and was responsive to our every need. He helped us with rentals and the alcohol order. At the wedding, CBD set everything up quickly and efficiently, and it looked fabulous. All of the staff were extremely professional and responsive to our every need. I highly recommend them.

Catering by Design provided excellent service for our daughters wedding at Evergreen Lake House and for the reception at our home (photo of reception uploaded). For both venues, the food was exceptional and the staff excellent. We found our Event Designer Danielle to be very easy to work with, prompt with answers and conitinuously updating our contract so we had no unpleasant surprises at the end.I plan to use CBD for any event for which quality is a primary concern!

I used Catering by Design for my wedding. Not only did Brandi ease my mind about things that werent her responsibility, but the whole team excelled when it came to the special day. Communication was at times slow during the planning stages. However, it was all cared for by the day of the event and every member of the team took initiative to perform above and beyond expectations. I highly recommend them.
