If I would have wrote this a few months ago I would have felt bad for Phil. Him and Jen at first seemed like nice people when I met them and started attending school. But I realized they were frauds and dont care about anyone but themselves after coming to each of them professionally about things that were wrong with their school and being shot down and INSULTED, Yes literally insulted, like who do you think you are? I paid seven grand for this place, I practically wrote part of your paycheck and youre going to insult me? This school is unprofessional, disorganized, and definitely doesnt deserve accreditation or even deserves a single student. During orientation we were told we have three days to get a full refund, after that we wouldnt get one. Well the first three days all we did was play name games and personally test and didnt do anything fitness related, so we were all pretty much sucked in. It wasnt until a couple weeks after that, that I realized this place wasnt anything like what they claim to be. I mean look at the reviews, EVERY review on here is bad apart from the employees. And give me a break, you cant write good reviews on your own business, especially five stars. YOU dont attend, you arent the ones trying to learn and build a career, if the students say this place sucks then this place sucks! And for you to write a review saying people should look at your own website to see what students actually think is a load of crap, youre contradicting what you taught us in class just a few weeks ago. "If you want to try a new supplement dont read the reviews from their own website or any website affiliated with them because they will all be good reviews for advertisement." Well good thing google is affiliated with NPTI because we can actually write the truth about this place. If youre seriously going to sit at your desk and read the google reviews on here and say that all the students that wrote this are wrong and that there is nothing wrong with your school then you really are a scam artist, and youre the worst kind of scam artist out there. The other students and I came to this place because we have a passion for fitness, I mean there is nothing else I can do or want to do in the world other than become a personal trainer and help people. And youve kept me from that dream for months now, actually I would say even a year since it was a year ago that I started saving up for your school and to move to Colorado! Phil, if you actually care about any of us you have screwed over or any of the ones that plan on attending your school in the future I say you shut down the school and work on your gym for the next few years until youve figured out how to make this place better for students who are trying to get an education.

Unfortunately, the poor reviews are true. 6 months ago I was excited to begin my education for Personal Training. I chose NPTI because I was hoping for an in depth hands on education focusing on NASM. Phil (Owner) explained to me when I was done with school I would be prepared to go take my NASM - CPT exam. Instead im leaving feeling unprepared; I will now have to study and reread the NASM book. This school is so unorganized...the required printouts were rarely online, curriculum was always changing. What we learned from one instructor in our first MOD who supposedly "quit" was soon to be corrected in our second MOD confusing us all. All hand-outs were required to be printed out by the students using our own expensive ink or else "points off." There were tons of bootcamp days when we could have been receiving more hands on experience in the gym training our partners or even better we could have been learning more about program design. Assignments would be thrown at you without any thorough instructions which led to confusion or late assignments. Because of the confusion, assignments were typically turned in late and Instructors would give an attitude to the students. Quite frequently, assignments would end up getting lost; make sure you save all your assignments on your computer because I guarantee it will happen to you! The last week of school you will take an ACE, ACSM, NSCA and NASM practice exam. Why ACE, ACSM, and NSCA? Dont ask me... I was wondering the same thing; we didnt cover any of the material. Sounds like busy work to me. It would have made more sense to take a few NASM practice exams and review the last week. $7k is a lot for a 6 month program. Phil, i think you should restructure your program so future students dont leave feeling empty-handed and unprepared. Also, you always provided excuses when questioned but never offered any solutions? I do know this much, Im leaving feeling confident on how to work a stop watch and hold a clip board....The only reason Im giving this school 2 stars is because there is one particular instructor who has gone to bat for us and really tried to make an impact on our future as PTs. He is way over qualified to be working at NPTI.

Google Reviews can be helpful, harmful, or just plain ridiculous. In the case of NPTI Colorado, many of the negative posts are just plain ridiculous and borderline slanderous. Use your common sense when reading the negative comments: 1. Why are all of the negative posts from an "anonymous user"? Yet, the positive reviews have names. If I had a legitimate issue with a business, I would not be afraid to post my identity. It would provide credibility to the post! 2. Why do many (if not most) of the negative posts have similar (sometimes word-for-word) sentences, phrases, or comments? Could it be that the majority of the negative posts are coming from the same person? Hmm.... Although Google Reviews can be valuable, in this case, there is something very fishy about the majority of the negative reviews. You dont have to be a rocket scientist to see it. Print off all of the reviews and compare the negative ones. You will see what I mean concerning "Points 1 and 2" above. In response to the comments concerning my review: 1. Phone lines? It is 2012. People use satellites and WiFi. Not phone lines. 2. No, Google does not verify accounts with a phone number. Google doesnt verify ANYTHING. 3. Im not saying it isnt possible that a few individuals could have had a negative experience. 40? Not buying it. Especially when you can see how obvious it is that several posts are from the same person. Same sentences, same grammar usage, word-for-word comments, Its like they just cut and pasted one review into another. My point is this, it is obvious that there is at least one person or a few people that are posting negative reviews trying to pass off as numerous folks. It is as if they are stalking the reviews to ensure the positive reviews get squelched.

I attended and graduated from this school (2012 so I can attest to all of the negative reviews). This school hits on a little bit of the important subjects, but never really dives full force into anything. Kind of like a liberal studies degree. You learn the base info and that is it. The instructors are not teachers, that is why their title is instructor and not teacher. Their information and instructor skills are limited. Do not expect to gain the same kind of knowledge that you would from a college professor, I think one is only 26 and just graduated. Any knowledge is really gained from reading the NASM books on your own. NPTI does not have its own materials and does a poor job of explaining the NASM concepts. I do not know how they justify making people pay $7,000 for this school. Not including all the other hidden (print own materials, commute, electives, book) expenses that come with it. That is money you could be spending on a real recognized university. For people who really want to learn and want more, this school is not for you. I am now going to school to get my degree in kinesiology. A few students dropped out of this school to go pursue real degrees, they found this place a waste of their time. I wish I would have started at a university instead of Npti. The education here is poor, especially when compared to a real university. When applying for a job, the one with the degree will get the job hands down, not the one with the diploma from Npti. This profession is rapidly growing, and becoming more and more competitive. Eventually all athletic clubs will require a degree in a health related field, why would you waste your time here?
