My review will be very long so be prepared. This gym has had a long history of rude customer service.I requested a personal trainer. Then one of the employees heard what I said and got a personal trainer for me. It was a guy that I really didnt want as my personal trainer. I am very picky about who becomes my personal trainer and I have certain trainers in mind. Most of the trainers there are either football trainers or they train women to do those Richard Simons exercises. I set up an appointment with a young lady that works the front desk and set the appointment for Wednesday. She says: "that the system was down" and wrote my information down, I get to the gym on Wednesday and the trainer says he didnt know about the appointment and tells me that it was his time and he is not going to train me. So I made an appointment for the following Wednesday and he did an "assessment" so he could create a workout for me. He didnt even spend the full hour training me he cut me off 45 minutes into the session. Later, I caught the Flu virus from some guy at a car dealership. Fortunately I was able to recover somewhat quickly. I had a very bad week at work, I cut my finger, I was sick with the Flu and a banged my head on a gas heater. Plus I work in a cold environment so I am cold and wet all the time. I come home extremely exhausted from work and I went to bed and didnt wake up till noon. In short I missed my appointment with my personal trainer. I felt bad about missing my appointment so I called him on the cell phone, he never answered nor did he ever return my phone calls. The agreement was that we meet every Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. but due to the Flu virus I had, I wasnt sure if it was Tuesday or Wednesday,at that time we had initiated sessions, I showed up on a Tuesday and the personal trainer said that we made an agreement for Wednesdays and he was not going to train me on a Tuesday because that was his time. He didnt even give me a chance to explain my self or apologize, he has a dominating character and he was talking over me and didnt really have the courtesy to listen to what I had to say. Despite his rudness I made an appointment for the following Wednesday and I was at home making phone calls in regards to my job and I didnt realize what time it was so I hung the phone up and immediately got to my car and drove over to the gym. I live very close to the Destination gym and it took me about 5 minutes to drive over there. I was six minutes late to my appointment. I got there and I looked for my personal trainer and he was nowhere to be found. The guy at the front desk had no idea where he was at and called him over and over again. The personal trainer finally answers the phone and tells me that I need to be there at 10:00 on the dot ready to go. At that point I became furious, because I paid for that session and he ditched me. I told the guy at the front desk that I am going to pay what I owe the trainer and I am cancelling all future sessions. Some good came out of the situation. A personal trainer introduced himself to me, a personal trainer who is intelligent and listens to me and he understands what I say, he makes me feel good. Because of his good natured personality I decided to set up another appointment, the guy working the front desk was my former trainer, he got rude with me and told me that it didnt matter if I complained because he wasnt going anywhere. Then he said he did not know how to set up appointments I said I wanted to speak to his manager and he wouldnt tell me who his manager was then he said: "You dont tell me what to do" Then he walked away from me and left me standing at the desk. He said as he walked away: "you can keep standing there" he left me at the desk standing tor six minutes, finally I decided to leave. I have complained about my former trainer and they said they will talk to him, but I doubt they ever did.

I first came to destination to train in powerlifting with Jodi Miller. It wasnt long before I realized that destination was my new home. Id just left a small and tightly-knit strength and conditioning gym with a strong team competitive emphasis. I was looking for a bigger gym with longer hours, and more equipment, but I was not willing to lose the sense of community, the generosity of spirit and the diversity of perspectives, training approaches and goals. Destination offered all that I was looking for in a gym, at a reasonable membership price. The core of the community includes elite physique athletes, powerlifters, and strongman competitors, as well as new competitors and plenty of folks just beginning their fitness journeys, or recommitting after years of unhealthy habits: everyone cheers each other on. This place gives lie to the stereotype of hardcore gyms being places of intimidation and cliquishness. This is a place where everyone is welcomed and everyones unique path of progress is celebrated. Since Ive joined, management has made regular and significant upgrades to equipment and facilities, making what was already a well-equipped gym even better. As it stands, destination is a clean, well-maintained facility with a mind blowing array of equipment. Note that it is not a fussy-fancy Equinox-type gym with towel service, changing room attendants, and scented steam rooms. I, for one, do not want to pay for that level of poshness. I bring my own towel and I shower in the clean shower stall every morning! Voila! Its awesome this way! For those inclined, destination offers bootcamp classes, yoga classes, and posing classes for physique athletes of all divisions. The gym hosts every single seminar or workshop of interest to physique and strength athletes: if youve heard of the athlete, coach, or strength/nutrition scientist, destination has hosted them. By the way, Im not employed by destination or personally connected to the owners or managers in any way. Im just a regular person here who loves to lift and spend time with supportive, inspiring people. If you relate to this review, come check destination out!

On my first trip into the gym I was greeted by friendly man, Dylan! Any of the guys sitting at the reception desk have always been friendly and say hi when I check in. Dylan helped sign me up (I had already decided to become a member through research on-line and by reading through their Facebook page). I asked for a reference for a trainer and explained what I was looking for in a trainer. Dylan recommended Lou Moreira. Lou turned out to be a great trainer, very confident and easy to talk to. He also didnt mind working me out hard (being female I was worried I wouldnt be pushed to work hard). I LOVE body building gyms! Destination has every age level of person with many fitness levels present throughout the day as well. It keeps you from feeling intimidated by the super amazing physiques I have seen in the gym. I also attended a great seminar last week with the famous Dr. Fred Hatfield - for free! Ive walked up to strangers and asked how to use equipment and everyone has been helpful and friendly. The equipment is clean, the bathroom is clean (has a shower even). You can buy bottled water too. There is a frig and microwave for members to use as well. I find it very inspiring to watch super cut/built men AND WOMEN working out. By the way, there are always just as many females in the gym - its a very comfortable place to work out in as a female. LOVE their hours of operation. What is missing that Id like to see? Those white hand towels! (Yes, Id pay to use one) Also, Id like to watch TV and listen to it with my ear buds while I do the dreaded elliptical workouts but, Ive never seen the TVs on and I dont think the equipment has the capability. Finally, Id suggest a row of seats against the one and only wall behind the reception desk for members to have a place to sit besides on the floor. Join today! You wont be disappointed!
