Traveling alone with my three kids on a road trip, I noticed a burning smell and immediately pulled off and happened across Fairfield Automotive Service. It was pouring rain, but I was met in the parking lot by a mechanic. He informed me that I may have to wait a little longer than usual because his crew was on their lunch break, but found me a nice dry place to sit with my kids. The smell, as it turns out, was an overheating or burned out rear wiper motor and they were able to simply disconnect it for me for the rest of my trip until I could make it to my dealer. I was out the door in 20 minutes (his lunch waited!), they didnt charge me and they gave the kids all key chains. Knowing I was on vacation and probably not a repeat customer, they still treated me with honesty and impeccable customer service! Wholeheartedly recommend this place for locals and travelers alike!

Pouring down rain in January 2010... My car almost stalled and the check engine light was flashing as my Basset hound and I steered off of 95. I called Fairfield Automotive Service from my cell (as it seemed to be the closest one to where I was breaking down). I explained my situation and they said theyd fit me in. Not only did they fit me in for a diagnosis of the problem but they let my basset hound, Jethro, and I sit in their waiting room while they fixed the problem on-the-spot. Though it was an expensive job, the price was fair (I checked) and the service COULD NOT HAVE BEEN BETTER. I (a female, with a dog) would have otherwise been stranded in the winter rain had they not been SO GRACIOUS and helpful. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! EVERYONE SHOULD USE THIS REPAIR SHOP!!! I RECOMMEND FAIRFIELD AUTO with NO RESERVATIONS!!!!

If you find a good mechanic, dont let them go. Thats why Ive been bringing my cars to John, David and the others at Fairfield Automotive for over 15 years. Its a family-owned business, run by friendly, honest people who know and do their jobs well. They have more than once or twice over the years used their knowledge and experience to avert what would have been more costly repairs -- costing themselves a bigger job in order to send me home happier. Thats how honest they are: they put good service first. And heres another feature you dont find in many garages: They listen and act on what you say, not what they just assume the problem might be. When people I know ask me to recommend a mechanic, this is only place I mention. Subsequently, my siblings have also come to be regular customers, as have a couple of friends.

I started coming to this shop in 2014 for oil change based on the rave reviews of people I network with. Im amazed at the efficiency of their work. Im out in 30 minutes or less. What a huge difference in time from my last oil change at a dealership. Fairfield Auto changed my oil and filter, also checked my tire pressure, topped off all my fluid levels, and put a sticker reminder in my car for my next oil change at a very reasonable price. Also I met one of the teacher assistants from my childs school here and she has been going to this shop for repairs for the past 10 years. That speaks volumes to me in terms of customer loyalty. Also, theyre very involved with community work. I once visited in November and they were collecting toys for Toys for Tots. I would recommend this shop to anyone

My husband and I HIGHLY recommend Fairfield Automative! This business is family owned and operated and the service reflects their hard work and dedication to their business. We had car trouble at 3 pm on Friday of a holiday weekend and the employees stayed late to make sure we were not stuck with a malfunctioning car while we were out of town for the weekend. One of the two brothers that own Fairfield Automotive called multiple places around town to find the specific part that we needed and within a couple of hours, he had located the part in a city nearby, sent someone to drive to the neighboring town to retrieve the part, and replaced it for us. We were impressed with their willingness to help us even if it meant they had to stay late, and the knowledge and service they provided.

We have been customers at Fairfield Automotive for 15+ years. They are the most honest and fair people in the business. Just yesterday, my battery died. I had AAA come out and check it out. They said I needed a new alternator. I brought the car to Fairfield Automotive, mentioning what AAA said. They said leave it with them and theyd check it out. It turned out to be a very minor problem with the battery connection. A shady mechanic would have charged me for a new alternator, since thats what I thought it was. Instead, they fix just the battery connection and I had the car back within the hour. Excellent service, totally honest, and always fair with their pricing. What more can you ask for. If you need a mechanic, go to Fairfield Automotive!!!

I was referred to this place by a coworker I overheard saying shes been getting her car serviced by Dave since 1986. I dont have a mechanic so went there to get my car checked out. I just bought a used Honda Accord coupe from NYC with 38K miles. Of course I wanted to get it checked out to make sure everything was on the up and up. THANK GOD I WENT TO DAVE! Car had major issues from day 1. He told me what was wrong with it & was able to bring it back to the dealership to get fixed for free since I just purchased the car. Dave and his staff checked out my car 3 different times (every time after my car got fixed by the dealership). Im very grateful for Fairfield Automotives! Due to their extensive check ups on my car its now riding smooth :o)

I had taken my 06 Mercedes in often to get regularly-scheduled service and other repairs, as needed. But never again. The guys are courteous enough, but Ive had issues with repairs months later. I had rear brakes repaired in October and now need the brakes done again. And the worst thing is this: I took my car there in June of last year with alternator issues. They fixed that and told me I needed a new battery. Long story short, had work done at the Mercedes dealer. In performing a diagnostic test, they discovered that I need another battery. The current battery (the one Fairfield Automotive charged me as if it was a new battery) is an older, after-market battery. Never again!

Friendly, Professional, Efficient, family-owned, great prices! If you need work done well in a timely manner for a reasonable price, go here! My experience: Water was leaking in through the roof, no other shop could fit me in last minute. It was pouring out. Fairfield Auto recognized the problem immediately and made time between appointments. In and out in less than an hour, problem solved. They didnt BS me, or try to nickle and dime me, they told me it was a simple problem and they used the simplest solution.

They are very friendly and helpful. I work full time and take classes at night so my time is very limited, but they have always worked to accommodate my time restrictions. They have even told me to bring my car in early so they can service it and make sure I am out on time to get to work. I am always pleasantly surprised when they finished earlier than anticipated and have never had to wait longer than 45min to get my car serviced. I would highly recommend!
