On the evening of May 10, 2017, my fiancé and our two boys dined in at Chipotle’s Restaurant in Dover, DE. While midway through our meal, I was approached by the manager on duty Matt Barnes. I didn’t understand what he was quite asking, but he eluded the purpose for his approach and said, “Are you doing what I think you’re doing? If so, I cannot allow that in this establishment.” I asked, “What do you mean what am I doing – breastfeeding?” He replied, “Yes.” The encounter climaxed when I inquired his opinion on what he would like me to do and I asked him if he would prefer I go into the bathroom. Matt responded, “Yes, that would be great if you could do that!” Because the comment was actually rhetorical and not meant to be taken literally, I took extreme offense to that. Delaware enacted a law in 1997 that clarifies a mother’s right to breastfeed in any location of public accommodation that she is permitted to be (31 Del. C. § 310). Because he never formally introduced himself, I wasn’t even sure who he was and why he was approaching me. He began to try to reason with my fiancé and attempted to win over his support in the matter. His attempts were unsuccessful. I explained to him that I was not breaking any laws and that I would eat inside the restaurant until the commencement of my family’s meal. When I called the local police station to file a report, they told me that the matter was civil and that someone had already called about it. The police officer further explained that he told the previous person who called about the incident, which I presume was Matt, that he would not be coming out because I was not breaking the law. Without any sincere apology for his actions about the way he ruined my and my family’s evening, his ignorant behavior quickly escalated to a disrespectful encounter. As I left the restaurant in tears by my fiancé’s side, I had never felt so humiliated in my life and knew I had to share my story to make sure that this NEVER happens to another nursing mother. This place could go a long way with the right staff. Customer service is very important some employees along with customers were very disrespectful. They got the right one! They are not team players, watch other people doing the work they ought to be doing. Deja is wonderful and she deserves to make her dream come true. She is people friendly and enjoys her job. She was extremely nice to me as well as other customers. She worked rather management was around or not. I would love to be a part of this establishment and take it around the world with mic night, poetry, plays and whatever entertainment has to offer..everyone deserves to meet their full potential. To God Be All The Glory.

This review is for the Chipotle in Dover by Dover Downs. I eat here every week, at least, and am never disappointed. The staff are very friendly and always ready with a smile. The food is fresh and delicious, especially if you come during a high volume time. The place is always clean, regardless of if the line is out the door or not. I frequently see the manager giving employees pep talks and feedback, and it is clear that they communicate well and work as a team. Part of the reason I go to Chipotle so frequently, of course, is for the fresh and healthy food options at a reasonable price, but at least half of it is for the friendly environment.

I was a first time customer and didnt know what to expect. Got a burrito to go which made it through the hot toppings okay. It sat between stations for a minute or two while the cold app worker finished another order. While working on mine she ran out of cheese and had to go to get more. I asked for sour cream and guacamole which was glopped at one end of the burrito. At cashier my $6.50 burrito turned out to be $8.40. The burrito was cold and poorly made and over priced. Also no receipt was given.

Matt the store manager is very rude and ignorant. He told a friend of mine to breastfeed her child in the restroom or leave! The restroom is for waste not eating Matt! If you are against mothers being shamed for feeding their children while trying to have a meal themselves DO NOT eat here. His behavior is disgusting anyday, but to shame a mother caring for her child this close to Mothers Day?! Matt showed no respect and needs to be trained or let go!

Inexplicably, this Chipotle had no forks. All of the fork bins - labeled as forks - contained spoons. I checked at the register - no forks, only spoons. How does a restaurant run out of forks? As an adult, Ive not had to eat my meal with a spoon for years. And, having done it this time, it wouldnt be my choice to repeat it. The rubbish bin was filled making trash disposal difficult. The food was good and the service was friendly.

A breastfeeding mother in your Dover,DE location was told by the manager, Matt, that she had to continue nursing in the BATHROOM or LEAVE?! Considering the state of Delaware has laws that permit mothers to breastfeed publicly, I am appalled at his actions and strongly advise against ANYONE eating here in the future!

I enjoy their rice and chicken bowl with black beans, corn, a little sour cream, lettuce & mild salsa (more like Pico de Gallo). Place is clean and fairly quick. Ill visit about twice a month. Much healthier than burger joints. Has unsweetened iced tea with free refills when dinning in.

I commute to Dover once a week and I love this particular Chipotle. The food somehow seems to taste better here. Maybe its fresher with the volume the do or because I come in fairly early. They also serve drinks, which doesnt matter to me, but Im sure some would like to know.

Quick service and friendly staff. This is a great location right by the university, so it is convenient to get to and get out. The food was made to order and delivered fresh. This is a great place to dine in or take out.

Very quick, and friendly service. The only thing that bothered me was that they were dusting while people were still eating. Even though it was pretty close to closing time, it should have waited until everybody has left.
