I expected better from you Fantastic Sams but you failed and I will never step foot in one of your establishments ever again. My 11 year old had her first taste of racism last night from one your employees. I called ahead to see if someone could braid her hair for picture day and was told someone there could do it so her father and her show up and they barely get in the door and your employee is telling them we only do caucasian hair. Her father asked her to repeat herself so she did and added we dont do that type of hair. He asked what is that type of hair and she kept repeating herself. The lady my daughter had the appointment with tried to be helpful and was going to look up how to do that "type" of hair but at this point how could they stay with your other employee repeating they only do caucasian hair and not that type of hair. I didnt think I needed to explain to the lady I spoke with on the phone what "type" of hair she has or what color skin my daughter has. My only fault is waiting last minute to find a place to get her hair done and having to take her to your "type" of place (see how that feels) however I dont discriminate. If you tell me someone can braid hair then they should be able to braid hair! There were better choices of words she could have used rather than making an 11 year old feel inferior however my daughter has a loving support system behind her that reminds her of her beauty on a daily basis and she holds her head high and walks with confidence. Thankfully they found someone else at a professional establishment that was up for the "challenge" and she is looking amazing for picture day at school. #DONTMESSWITHMYKIDS

I posted this review under the Clearwater Plan location and I am also posting it here because I hope that something is done: On Saturday, February 27th, in the arfternoon, I stopped in Fantastic Sams for a haircut. After several minutes of being ignored one of the employees approached me and asked me what I wanted. I stated that I wanted a haircut and that I thought that my current cut was uneven and I just wanted a cut to even it out. The two employees began telling me that I didnt need a new hair cut, I just needed to learn how to style my own hair. Instead of offering their help in doing my hair as a service I was willing to pay for, they continued to belittle my ability and lack of knowledge. Their rudeness turned away a potential customer and after the experience, I will never be a patron of Fantastic Sams again (I was visiting from Michigan).
