Staff are very polite. We did have a mix up with my mothers death certificate. I was told it was in. I took off work, my sister and I drove to Sylvan Abbey, which btw is not close and we were told sorry it wasnt there the director was looking at the wrong file. I have since stayed in touch with them and certificates are not in yet. But, Kathy at Sylvan Abbey did take a minute to find out for sure and did called me at work to let me know. I would suggest picking up the death certificates yourself if you are in need of them. My sister lives out of state and has an upcoming wedding and we need to take care of business as soon as possible. Not bad service but wish I could get more help in obtaining these certificates. Would very much like to be able to put this all to rest.

This cemetery used to be the best in Pinellas county in my opinion, however, I dont know if they changed hands, or hired new help, but the upkeep of the grounds has gone severely down hill. I had to pull weeds, clean off the headstones, and look for the flags that were at both of my familys markers. They had been pulled up and thrown by a tree. There were tons of dead memorial flowers, while countless times my mother or I have gone back a week later to get a living potted plant to bring back home only to find it had been thrown away. The grounds are still beautiful, but whoever is in charge of maitenence needs to improve.

Everything about this place spoke class until a very big mistake was made. They presented paperwork to the state that said upon the death of my mom she was a widow. Unraveling this mess has been a nightmare and a costly mistake. After 3 months and attorney an affidavit had to be filed of continuous marriage to the county court system. My father has no death benefits AND his social security will stop in the Month of December because we have yet to get a death certificate...outrageous! Merry Christmas to all. We have lived here since 1978, have used this place for years....would not go back again. EVER!!!!

On July 6th 2016 my brother Michael (Mikey) White passed away at the young age of 29. I cannot say enough about the staff at Sylvan Abbey! Kelly R. was our Funeral Counselor and did everything in her power to make my brothers celebration of life the greatest!! Without a doubt I know that the day we said our final farewells from here on earth that my brother was smiling down upon us. The service and staff at Sylvan Abbey go unparalleled in the industry. Thank you Kelly R. and Sylvan Abbey with all our hearts! I commend you for services well done. Love always the Michael J White family & Friends

I was in the Serenity Garden section yesterday and was appaled to see so many dead floral tributes. One was a new internment and the flowers looked like they had been dead for awhile. I saddened me to think a family member may come by to visit and see something like that.

You should run, not walk from this place (and make sure you still have your wallet). They dont give one hoot about the deceased or the family. There is one and only one motivation here...MONEY!
