DO NOT ABIDE BY AMERICANS WITH DISABLITIY ACT OF 1990 PLANET FITNESS WOULD NOT LET MY AUTISTIC SON WAIT FOR ME!! WARNING!!!! PLEASE READ , LET me say this I am a mature 54 year old woman, the staff may be friendly BUT don t you dare let a family member or your guest sit up at the front lobby!! . They will claim they are loitering and must leave. Loitering in the state of FLORIDA means ( to prowl , linger, or be there for no purpose or reason). They pulled me off a tread mill when my son sat down to wait until I finished , he had been at the mall.The manager did not even introduce himself just informed me we had to leave because my son was loitering!!! I was horrified. And when I got upset they threaten to cancel my membership.,..we did work everything out. Today it happened again my son who is twenty years old and Autistic was told he could not wait for me he would be loitering and had to leave..he called me and told me to come to the desk. I do not like to be spoken to with that down your nose , righteous indignation ...and naturally I was in shock that this was happening again!!!! But do not show any emotion, they will threaten to cancel you.. My point is these people have no idea what loitering means, for I was his REASON AND PURPOSE to be there and then stand there and talk down to you and do not want to hear, And have NO IDEA ON HOW TO HANDLE OR APPROACH matters as such!! I did have few not so nice parting words but they are well deserved . They have children running that place!!! what is your thought on the loitering thing?? oh and when they serve PIZZA make sure your not LOITERING!!!·

Called Planet Fitness today to find out about the amenities they have as I am on vacation as a guest visiting and kept getting the sales spiel and the history of the company from the representative. I stopped him and said I understand Planet Fitnesss origins, rules, etc. Ive been there before just not this location and I just need to know the amenities. Then he persisted on telling me about the membership levels and what the amenities are for each level. I stopped him, explained to him my experience with gyms and who I am as a person that works out regularly and he did not care to even say to himself, let me just answer the question which I advise him to do. I tried to educate him which he was talking over me the first few seconds before he stopped to listen. I informed him that when someones this persistent on just getting one answer give them the answer and stop putting on your spiel and your script that you have and listen to the customer. Therefore he lost me today and potentially me telling anybody in this area to go to the Planet Fitness because they could not even get me the basic information on the phone which is what are your amenities thats it. It should be a one minute answer or less and I should have been off the phone. #ruinedopportunity #lostcustomer #badcustomerservice #listen

The staff is friendly and the facility is clean. The gym is made for someone who is a fitness beginner or has uncomplicated fitness goals. I joined up because I wanted a place to work out on the weekend for a temporary visit in Florida. I was new to Planet Fitness. Ive been a member at a number of other gyms for at least 3 years prior. I actually felt the least comfortable at this gym which is a little counter-intuitive when you look at what Planet Fitness stands for. I would consider myself a workout/health advocate. I do get "into" my workouts the majority of the time. At Planet Fitness they have this Lunk alarm that goes off if you are grunting or set down weights too hard. I am not one to put lots of weight on dead lift and drop it when I am done. I control my weights quite well. However, when using 40 lbs+ weights there is hardly any room to "drop" the weights when you are done. I set off the alarm numerous times which is very annoying and off course people look at me. The manner in which I release the weights would be maybe 6 inches to 10 inches from the ground. So, in comparisons to other gyms, Planet Fitness made me feel very uncomfortable. I would stay away from this gym if you have any serious weightlifting goals. This review is kind of scattered but I hope it helps some.

Let me say that the price you cant beat it at 10 dollars a month, and open 24 hours Monday through Friday, and 12 hours on Saturday and Sunday. There is no bad gym smell, and the clients tend to wipe down the equipment after each use which is nice. The place is clean and fairly new so the equipment usually is in great shape. What I dont like about this gym is that the front desk gives me a hard time every time I dont have my key ring. They only give each member one key ring and I have two cars that I switch regularly. They need to understand that if I carry it separately, I will most likely lose it within a few weeks, and it is too much of a hassle to hook on and off of the different key rings that I use. Second and strongest negative is that when I arrive at the gym looking good/pretty I get a very good reception. When I arrive at the gym looking Haggard, sweaty or just generally less attractive, I am received almost rudely or at best, invisibly at the front desk nearly every time. My friends have noticed this too. Some of the staff members are nice sometimes, but the prevalence of rudeness or snobbery is perceived by the client more often, and the overall feel when encountering staff. SO these days I look forward to just entering and just being invisible..

Ive been to many local gyms including Hurlburt and Eglin. Planet Fitness in Mary Esther is an amazing gym for the price. Being open 24 hours on weekdays and 12 hours on weekends is great. The dumbbells dont go higher than 60lbs., but you can make do with the machines. They have plenty of benches and machines, Ive never had to wait for equipment to open up. Its rarely busy. They have so many cardio machines I havent even had someone use one directly beside me yet. The black card lets yiu bring a guest in for free every time and its an amazing deal for only $20 a month. I dont understand how people can complain about the staff. The staff is great. Very welcoming and friendly. People have commented that they dont get paid any attention by the staff unless they are dressed up and looking pretty....are you kidding me? This is a gym.....sounds like you need to use your $10 membership towards therapy instead of a gym membership. This is also by far the cleanest gym Ive been to as well. Every time I go in the sraff is cleaning equipment. Not just wiping down but throughly cleaning. They clean all the equipment daily. If I could give this a 6 star rating I would.

I am SO incredibly unhappy,and frustrated with this club. I will never be returning to a Planet Fitness. I have spent three years utilizing my planet fitness membership in three different states. I have tried for six month to cancel my membership, and got the runaround each month. Finally, I spoke with a representative at this club, who gave me clear instructions to sent a signed letter, requesting to cancel. I did so, with nearly 20 days left before i was to be billed again. This month, I was billed. Again. I called, spoke with the manager Levi, and was told that they did not receive my letter until one day after the billing went out. I sent the letter 17 days prior, and used my company postage meter (which tracks the day). I also wrote the letter on my company computer, which shows the last day it was edited. It is clear that this club cares more about $20 than having members return, and member satisfaction. DO NOT attend Planet Fitness Mary Esther.
