I bought a Groupon a few months ago for a cavitation package. I was happy with the service but their cancelation policy its extremely inflexible. One day I had an appointment at 5:00pm for two sessions and left my house with ample time to make it to my appointment, unfortunately there was a car accident and the traffic was backed up. I called Wax Spa 25 minutes before my appointment to inform them I was running a few minutes late because of the traffic due to the car accident, I was immediately informed I would be losing one of my cavitation sessions because I was going to be late. I asked the receptionist to have the owner call me because I was not happy to lose one of my pre-paid sessions, the fact there was a car accident on my way to my appointment it’s beyond my control. I finally made it to Wax Spa 7 minutes late and they did not take me right away because they took someone in my place for the session that I had an appointment for and I had already pre-paid through Groupon. The owner called me and said he was going to look into it and see what he could do. When I was checking out the receptionist tried to charge me a gratuity for the session I never received, I refused to pay it and she agreed not to charge me for it after contacting the owner on his cell phone. A few days later I called the owner again since he did not call me back with an answer; he said he would talk to me about it on my next appointment. Basically he refused to reinstate the session I lost for being late because he explained to me that he still had to pay the therapist for my session which I completely understand, however, the therapist took another customer in my place. I find this quite unfair and this not the way to do business. I never went back and I definitely do not recommend this place.

The bikini wax I received was totally fine (I came on a Groupon), but then, they have this "leave us a good review for a discount" program... So I figured, I had a good experience, why not write about it and take advantage of the discount? On my way out, I told the receptionist I wanted to do the review program. She started going over the rules and it got a little overbearing. I said, "ok... Ill write the review right now... no problem..." she says: "no, dont write it now; in need to see it, approve it (by the way - highly unethical), etc, etc.... :-/ ? ! She said to write it before I was about to come in again. A little bit of a pain the ass, but fine. So I called them up just now, wanting to come in for a wax and mentioned the review program, and now the receptionist said I couldnt have a discount for my next visit, that i shouldve written the review right away, and that it would be for my following visit....?!! This whole ordeal with the receptionists has been such a hassle. Thats why Im giving them 2 stars. I didnt feel valued and respected as a customer; on the contrary: 1- theyre talking down to me like Im some school child ("our sign clearly says...") 2- she told me I was a liar and that the other receptionist couldnt possibly have told me what I said she had 3- they offered a hassle, instead of a discount. Wax Spa should heavily reconsider their reviews-for-discounts program as, besides being sightly unethical, it only hassles the customer.

They have a 3 week policy if you book your 3 weeks appointment in advance you get 20% off of your next visit, which I thought, hey! If youre going to be getting waxed, why not book in advance, so I do so on every visit Ive gone on. I just went on my last visit for the receptionist to tell me if i changed my appointment time to later on the same day that makes your 3 weeks that they book you for, the discount does not apply, but if you go before the scheduled time it still applies, so ej when I called to push my appt time for an hr later the receptionist never explained that to me (someone please explain to me, where does that makes any sense?) Now do not get me wrong, if thats your policy, as dumb as it is, thats your policy, but please train your receptionist(s) to inform the clients, Ive changed my appointments numerous times before, ( because i do work)and not once was I told that the time matters as far as getting the discount goes, I was under the impression that its the date that matters. Anyways I had to pay full price, but its ok. I wouldnt have had any issues, if that had communicated that to me. Ill take my business elsewhere. She tells me she doesnt know when her boss comes in to work or there isnt a contact number for him, she has no way of getting in contact with him. No thank you. Ill go somewhere where Ill be able to contact a manager if there is an issue. Even if its by email. The communication there sucks.

I called to find out if Wax Spa recycled their wax. Diana who answered the phone said that the wax was not recycled. So, I asked her that if I were to interview or could interview previous employees, that they would tell me the same. At the point she began to get defensive, rather than realizing that it was only a potential customer who wanted to be informed of the process used in removing hair. I suggest to the owner to train the staff in becoming more people friendly and to highlight the positive. However, she is just an employee who lacks those skills and will not keep me from wanting to try the place--as long as she is not the one to remove hair. They have gotten positive reviews. On the other hand, there are a couple of negative reviews when it comes to treating customers: The online conversation let me to believe that those customers may have a valid point to consider. So for the online treatment and bad experience, Wax Spa earns one star.

Ive been getting waxed for years mostly in GA. Since being in Miami, Ive been to this place three times tops. The first time I went I got a wax and was itching like crazy everywhere that they waxed. I had never experienced anything like that. It went away after a few days (and some calamine lotion). Didnt let that bother me too bad, I mean the prices are better than most. The next time I went, it went ok. But this last time I went! They damaged a hair follicle on my leg which rapidly turned into a bump on my shin that night and began to swell over the next few days. I dont know if they are following the proper protocol with changing the wax, etc. but my leg was infected. I ended up having folliculitis as a result of going here. That bump turned into a huge pus-filled boil. So now my leg-game is out for the summer, because once its healed there will be scarring. SMH....Spend the extra money and go somewhere with go hygiene practices.

This place is ok not the best but ok. The prices are little absurd when it comes facial waxing considering there not doing anything special or giving you a facial. The just recently went up in price and again I dont see why. There not offering anything special when it comes to facial waxing. I went in to get a facial wax and this crazy chick (Ena & Julia) wanted to charge me almost $20 for a chin wax. WTH!!! I dont think so. AGAIN your not doing anything special that requires $20 for a chin wax your crazy heifer. By the time there done it takes a total of 10mins maybe less for them to do it yet your charging $20. The Ena lady be real careful with her she will try her damnedest to over charge you for the services. There are much better less pricier waxing places in South FLA to go to then this place.
