I participated in a 3 session group lesson given on the Cha-Cha. Usually group dance lessons are geared for beginning dancers who want to learn the basics steps (footwork). Tammy teaches a little of that, but she also teaches to the intermediate students who are concerned about looking good on the dance floor. The third lesson in the Cha -Cha was today, Sunday April 24, 2016 and I must report that Tammie was at her best today! This class concentrated on the shoulders, chest, arms, and hands. For real, it felt like I was back in college listening to a philosopher! It was not that she used big words or sophisticated language...no...she taught everything with ordinary vocabulary...Tammys detail and personal demonstration of upper body dynamics and hand motions was insightful to watch and listen to. Even though it would takes weeks of practice to implement the exact body movements that Tammy discussed and demonstrated, we were at least shown what real ballroom dancing was all about. Furthermore, now we know what to look for when we watch a ballroom dancing demonstration. Tammy gave me the knowledge so now I can appreciate what is right, even though I will need private lessons and practice in order to incorporate what she taught into my routines. Tammy is a very impressive teacher. I would recommend her both to beginner and advanced dancing students.

Modern Steps is a great ballroom dance school nestled in East Naples. It is not only for the beginner dancer who just wants to get started dancing but also for the advanced dancer who may want more for their dancing. The staff consists of the owners, Jim and Tammy Clemons, Justinas, Mac, and Jennifer, all passionate dancers; the range is social dancing to competition. In addition, once a year in the spring, the staff and the students become a team and put on great show, that is a little dancing and whole lot of theater; this is always the brainchild of Tammy Clemons, the co-owner and is always success because it is always sold out.. Both she and Jim are outstanding dancers as are the students that participate. This studio is one of the friendliness in town!!

My wife and I enjoy learning how to ball room dance. And we love the group and individual classes, the parties and the friends we have made. And Modern Steps has the best dance floor in the area! A big floor designed for dancers. Many other studio have an uncomfortable Pergo floor that is hard on your body and legs. You can dance for hours at Moderns Steps and the cushioned dance floor absorbs the impact making dance a pleasure. The Sunday afternoon group classes and Wednesday group classes are great for beginner and advanced. You always learn something you can use.

Love Love Love this place!! Definitely the highlight of our trip to Naples, FL to visit my aunt and uncle!! My now husband and I took lessons for our wedding and the lessons with Justina put us at ease, when we had so much going on. It was truly wonderful! The facility is beautiful and the instructors are all very helpful! The Saturday Night Dance was so much fun and truly inspired me to keep learning! Thank you for everything Modern School of Dance! If you want to learn to dance this is the place. I learned more here in a month than I learned elsewhere in three. Instruction is individualized so you learn at your own pace. Learn the dances you want to do, not a curriculum. The owners have been at this for 30 years, so they know how to teach and customize instruction.You learn dance in real life- if you want to perform they can teach that as well. I couldnt be happier.

Every year for the last 4 years I have attended the Modern Steps Spring Showcase. It is so entertaining and such a professional show! I love the music, the costumes, and THE DANCING!! Its a great mix of amateur AND professional dancers. I highly recommend going to the showcase! If I lived in the area I would definitely take lessons!
