Greetings! My name is Tiina and I am a Student of Lotus Dance Studio. Years ago I had given up on dancing. Having been enrolled in Ballet & Jazz since a toddler, I had the love for dancing beaten out of me over the course of eight years by a teacher that was very harsh and criticizing. If you weren’t the perfect body type, you weren’t worthy enough to be a ballerina. Now that I’m an adult, I wish I would have had the opportunity to Belly Dance instead. Especially with someone like Lizzy of Lotus Dance Studio. Her girls will never grow up with the same judgmental crowd I did. And what better a gift to give your daughter than the gift of self esteem? The Studio Director, Alina, is an incredible teacher who is patient when you need some extra help to learn a move and will celebrate along with you when you finally figure it out. Alicia will challenge you to push your dancing to the next level with her Gothic Industrial Style. Isis will make sure you’re well rounded by giving you a side of Oriental techniques to go with your main course of Tribal. I haven’t had a class with Anna yet, but she’s a beautiful dancer whom I’d love to learn from. On top of the classes, there are always fun Open Houses, Workshops and Shows throughout the year. Joining Lotus Dance Studio has rekindled a flame for dancing that I thought had been extinguished for good. I feel that in finding Lotus, I’ve found not only a great place to dance, but a place where I can truly belong. At Lotus, no one is judged. There are women of every age and body type, all of whom are asked only to grow in their Dance. The sense of community cannot be considered anything less than family. Of course, like with every communal art form, you get the occasional diva who swoops in and stirs up drama. Theyll complain about everything from the schedule to the "cruel teachers" asking them to practice at home. No matter how hard Alina works to accommodate them, if the passion for dance is never really in these sorts of people, they dont stick around long. If you have an interest in Belly Dance, look no further. You will not find a better place in South Florida than Lotus Dance Studio!

My Name is Maria Linkous and I started taking classes at Lotus Dance Studio about 5 months ago. I can only say great things about Lotus Dance Studio, Alina and all the instructors, this is a place where were embrace as women, no matter your age, body type, experience or style. Aliana is a very giving person (and I say this for experience) and Lotus Dance Studio is a community not just a studio, and theres HUNDREDS of women that are part of this community and that are VERY PROUD of it. I encourage you not to take under consideration some bashing words that come from a person that had a "bad experience" due to her lack of time to check updates. If youre thinking about taking Belly Dance Classes, please be aware that takes a lot of commitment...and yes, is not just about how many times you need to take classes, but as part of a community you need to be in constant communication. If you dont have the time like one of the reviewers, wait until you can make the commitment...it will be totally worth it. If youre thinking about taking tribal belly dance classes....lotus dance studio is the place to go...dont even think about it, it doesnt get better than that. I love lotus dance studio, and Im proud to be their student. BTW……the reviewer Uforic forgot to mentioned that long time ago Alina offered her to extend the expiration of her card to December…..and I’m sure Alina will open the doors of the studio for her…..the rest of us might not be that welcoming. perhaps you should stay home Lotus Dance Studio is the best tribal studio of south florida, come and see for yourself.

My name is Oriana Noir and I am a student at Lotus Dance Studio. I originally joined because I am a long time fan of Alicia of Bellycraft, and I saw she taught classes at Lotus Dance Studio. I am grateful I did. Lotus is an incredible school for dancers of ANY level interested in ANY style of bellydance. From fusion, to oriental, to gothic, to lots and lots of ATS, any style you want to add to your repertoire, Lotus has a world-class instructor teaching it. Considering the quality of teaching going on, you would expect to pay a high price for the classes, but Lotus Dance cards make classes surprisingly cheap (which is great for a starving student like myself). However, if youre not ready to commit to a steady regimen of classes, the drop in rates are very affordable too!! But more than just a place to learn, Lotus Dance Studio offers an amazing environment. While other teachers/studios are awash in negativity, Lotus is a family of supportive dancers who come together for a simple love of dance. I have only gotten to know Alicia, Alina, and Isis, but each woman is an incredible instructor, ever-ready with encouragement, and some of the kindest people I have ever known. While I have been dancing for a couple of years, I know after a year of classes at Lotus Dance Studio, I will be performing at a level I never dreamed possible before.

Ive been dancing with Lotus dance studio for 14 months now and I wouldnt trade this time for anything. Lotus offers some of the best instructors in Florida teaching not only the basics of Bellydance; muscular isolation, posture, strength and self confidence, but also teaching several different styles of bellydance. Lotus dance studio has opened my eyes to Tribal style with Alina, ATS (American Tribal style improvisational choreography) with Anna, Gothic Industrial Bellydance with Alicia of Bellycraft, and Oriental with Isis SanMiguel. This studio has become a second home to me and helped me become comfortable and proud to have a womanly body that can move and shimmy with strength and grace. Lotus dance studio also hosts Several workshops a year with some of the biggest names in Bellydance instruction including Tamalyn Dalal, and Donna Mejia. Im happy to be part of this dance family.

Ive been dancing at Lotus Dance Studio since the very first day it opened and it has always felt like a second home to me. There are tons of classes to choose from, a lot of studio events and workshops, and some of the best teachers in South FL. Alina, Alicia, Anna, and Isis have helped me grow so much as a dancer. Lotus is by far the best place in South FL to learn tribal bellydance. Its not just a studio, its a community.

Today we experienced an amazing open house at Lotus. We shared mini-classes in belly dance, Flirty Girl, and Zumba. This is what Lotus is all about: women connecting with each other and enjoying the art of dance. Thank you Alina for your inspired vision. Lotus is truly a special place.
