I have never gone to a barbershop before; (ever) My hair is somewhat of a challenge due to a previous accident, and Location is key for me, as I do not drive as a result; therefore, I tend to stick with someone once I find him or her. My three most recent "stylists" having relocated, a receding hairline and the coxing of co-workers I decided to try the barber experience; I had heard Great things about the Southside Village Shoppe on Hillview and per reputation, I decided a walk-in was appropriate to provide the real story. The professionalism started at the door when greeted, the space is super clean, organized, bright and spacious. Frankie has recently moved here obviously bringing with him a lot of experience and customer care, which was evident from the first fist bump, bottle of water and numerous munchie offerings. My wish is NOT to disregard or discredit my previous skilled services! Unless Frankie decides to relocate, I look forward to seeing him every 6 weeks! I highly recommend him, if for some reason you are not 100% satisfied, pm me the reason and I will refund your charge. 6-STARS out of a possible five Disclaimer: no good or services were exchanged for this recommendation he is that good!

This was our first time there. I took my wife and daughter with me. As soon as we got to the door, Debbie received us with a smile. She offered us something to drink right at the door. The shop was crowded (usually a good sign that the place is good). She went inside and pulled 2 comfortable chairs for us to sit. I had made an appointment prior to showing up, so I didnt have to wait at all. At 3:00 PM, I was seeing. I have to say, I have never had a quality haircut like I did today. They really pulled it off. It looks great. I had asked for a classic cut but the barber hooked up me up with a classic cut and a facial trim. I had a warm lightly damp towel over my head which made the experience even better. While I had my haircut, Debbie entertained my wife and daughter. She even sat with them. I think that the overall experience was a 5 star one. The service was great too. As far as pricing, the barber charged me $20 dollars. I gave him a 30% tip value or $6 dollars. I never tip less than 30% for my haircuts. I recommend this place.

Just moved to SRQ from St. Louis last week. Was spoiled in StL by Cutters and Company--the value for the price there was unbelievable. Did my on-line search after unpacking down here, gave Southside Village a try. I will not be going anywhere else. Once again I have found incredible value. Debbie is the owner and a third generation barber, incredibly skilled and charming, and shell do my hair as long as Im here and shes open! The environment is clean and relaxing. Everything from the hot towel to the scissor cut to the shampoo to the shoulder massage were top notch. Im sure there are other places in Sarasota that are good, but I immediately felt at home at Southside Village. Its highly unlikely youll do better!

Southside Village Barbershop is "The" place in the Manatee/Sarasota region for a man to get a great barbering experience. The service provided by Debbie and her staff is consistently fine and on a par with places charging three times as much. I know, Ive been to those places. The experience must be great because I travel 20 miles (one way) to get my hair cut by Debbie. There are closer shops, but they do not offer the same high quality of service, atmosphere, and friendliness of Southside Village Barbershop. You owe it to yourself to go that extra mile to give yourself a wonderful experience. I look forward to my monthly appointment. You will too.

Thanks to Google reviews Ive found SVB as the most popular barber shop in 941 area. My appointment was with Nester whos attention to details are phenomenal and thanks to him Im a returning customer every other week ever since. He is doing an excellent job all around on haircut, fading, blending, beard trim, shave, eye brow trim. He is my barber but quite honestly you can schedule your appointment with any of those guys. But make sure you book yourself in advance because even tough they do welcome walk- ins, the place is always packed. Great location, great atmosphere, excellent service A++!

We were visiting from out of town and my husband certainly needed a haircut. I checked out local barbers on the internet and liked what I read about this " old fashioned" barber shop but wasnt exactly sure what that implied. Since walk-ins were welcome, we headed over to the shop in a strip mall just east of the Tamiami Trail. What a great find! Good service from a friendly and capable barber, Debbi, resulting in a fine haircut in a setting from the past with lots of memorabilia. Additionally, the price was definitely reasonable.

Classic barbershop for men! Debbie, the owner, is about as nice as you can get. I was new to town and happened upon Southside Village Barbershop and boy was I FORTUNATE. The staff is full of experienced barbers, both men and women. The atmosphere is great, complimentary drinks are available, and the TV is set to ESPN for the daily sports updates. Got a FANTASTIC haircut (I am usually very picky about haircuts) for a great price, $18. Walk-Ins are welcome, I would highly recommend this place to any man/boy in the area!

I arrived early for my appointment and was greeted upon entering the shop. I was offered a cup of coffee, while I was waiting for my appointment. Debbie was my Barber. She was extremely friendly and personable. She had done one of the best jobs on my hair. This establishment was immaculately clean, and had a comfortable atmosphere. I have been here several times now, and will always make this MY place to get a haircut. Debbie is the best. Ive even encouraged my roomate to go there...

Finding a good barber is always very hard to do. Nester gave me the best haircut Ive ever had. Super clean lines, nice fading, and he trimmed up my beard very nicely. Hot towel and neck shave were nice touches as well. It was about $25, totally worth it. You could pay a little less but get a haircut youre just ok with, or have Nester give you a haircut you are really happy with.

Chris the barber did a great job on my hair. I showed him a photo and he went to work. He had a great attention to detail. Im still going to give him 5 stars even though he didnt laugh at my jokes. I liked the honesty. Takes balls to do that. Then again Im not even funny. I highly recommend this barber shop I had to drive 30 minutes to just get there but it was worth it.

Ive come here for about 2 years, always left with a good haircut, even though I have no idea what to ask for other than "make it shorter" Thats true professionalism. Im always shocked that my bill is so LOW after getting such a skilled cut (around $25 if I remember right? Probably less) One of my most favorite businesses of all time.

I had been seeing a local barber for the past few years. ..but after a few "week-after-week" careless cuts I started looking for a new barber. I ended up at Southside Village Barber Shop and agree..."5 stars!" Nester did my bald-fade. He payed attention to detail, did an awesome job fading and blending. I will definitely be comming back.
