This past saturday took my boyfriend up to People Ready because he had claimed work tickets for Saturday & Sunday. We arrived at 5:45 AM with our 9 month old. It was around 6 before the lady opening showed up which wasnt a big deal; however, she honked her horn until another person who had been waiting moved their car just so she could back in in front of the building, mind you there was plenty of available parking. She didnt carry anything in, nor did she come back to carry anything in, just rude. Additionally, after arrival she tells my boyfriend that the ticket he claimed they are not sending anybody additional out on that he can sign his name and wait. I was so disgusted especially after seeing her actions earlier then discovering that we were all up there at 5:45 am for no reason. Its really easy to make a phone call and say this ticket has already been filled dont come in, especially when they blow up your phone any other time. Sunday same thing, sent home even though he had claimed the ticket. JUST POOR POOR communication and management.

I enjoy working in new employment environments and meeting new people. I really enjoy the fact that I can get paid the same day that I work and not be be obligated to wait two or three weeks. I tend to look at Labor Ready/People Ready as a one nite stand. Except no visits to the doctor afterwards or stalking. Some of the other workers are shady and mostly people who cant find traditionally jobs because of their criminal background. So they tend to be either overzealous or lazy falling in the middle most of the time. Your money is placed on a debit card and you got to withdraw it before it is ripped off by the payment company. You do have to have a great relationship with the staff because they will be the person(s) selecting you for each assignment and keeping the cash flowing. Prepare to get up early and the morning and work like your life depended on it.

The company is a decent place for temps. But, at the Tallahassee branch Gwen whos the dispatcher is really shady. She will shave your pay. She will lie to you about the availability of work. She will have other workers threaten you because you complaint. She is very manipulating, so please be carefully. Shes like the character "Stephen" played by Samual L. Jackson from the movie Django but with weave and heels. So please, be very careful!
