This is the first Summer that my children have participated in Summer camp, and I couldnt be more pleased with the experience that they are getting at First Discoveries CDC in South Tampa. My school-age son loves the daily field trips and sharing time with the many friends that he has made at camp. In addition, this is my three-year-olds first experience in child care, and it has been a rough transition for him. The teaching staff at First Discoveries has been exceptional in supporting my son in this difficult transition. Everyone that I have encountered at the facility is very professional and friendly. My children love them, and that speaks volumes. The meals and snacks that the facility provides sound delicious and well-balanced! Most importantly, the teachers upload photos of my children having fun during the day, and send any reminders to me via an App. The pictures throughout the day warm my heart and the reminders are received via notifications on my phone, in a timely manner. First Discoveries CDC provided tuition rates that I can afford, with all the perks of a more expensive education-based center. I highly recommend this school/camp for anyone looking for a child-care in the South Tampa and even West Tampa and Hyde Park areas.

I enrolled my daughter at First Discoveries in the toddler class two years ago and could not be happier with the level of care and education that she, and now her younger sibling are receiving. Leaving my toddler in the care of others was not something I was comfortable with at ALL, but the staff at First Discoveries was patient and never failed to give me as many updates throughout the day as I needed (sometimes hourly, in the beginning!). Cindy has worked to make this facility a top notch learning center for your children. She hires the most loving, caring, and qualified teachers around. Parental involvement is welcomed and encouraged, and my children have grown leaps and bounds from their daily experiences at First Discoveries. Any time there is a concern I know I can raise it with Cindy and it will be taken seriously and addressed. The previous reviews alleging racial behavior etc. are extremely old, and just not true at all. We have made friends with several of the parents and there is a very low turnover rate for families. Give it a try and you wont be disappointed.

This is an old, dirty building, no maintenance is done to it. However the worst part of my experience there was that my two years old baby was on a classroom with a VERY,SEVERELY, overweight teacher named Miss Joanne who is absolutely Not sweet, caring or understanding towards the kids. Initially there were two teachers in the class and it was ok, but one had to go cover a different class and this Miss Joanne was left alone and Unchecked for a long time. I dont know what she did to the kids, but my baby went from being outgoing, happy and friendly to being shy, and afraid of everything. I noticed what was happening when my baby started to panic every morning going to daycare. By the way my daugther played with her toys I am confident one of the things this teacher did was put her on time out facing the wall, and scream "STAY RIGHT THERE" I will allways be sad remembering what I put my baby through at this place. This Miss Joanne should not be in a daycare. There are many choices out there for daycares, choose wisely, look around, do it for your kids!!!

I love my child’s preschool. This is the first and only preschool my child has attended. I have toured many preschools in South Tampa and by far is the very best! The director of a school sets the tone, and Ms. Cindy is fantastic! She hires amazing teachers that go above and beyond my expectations. All the teachers have a degree in Early Childhood Education or are enrolled in school to obtain one. The children are amazingly engaged, and you can tell the teachers all truly care about the well being and development of the children enrolled here. The meals served at the school are wholesome and delicious. Everything is homemade and always served with fresh fruit and vegetables. I wish all children could have the type of care this school provides. My husband and I say all of the time how "lucky" we were to have our child enrolled at FIRST DISCOVERIES!

My child has been attending this school for 3 years and we have had an overall good experience with the school and staff. I came from a home daycare and had very high expectations, and First Discoveries has been able to meet all of them. There had been some turnover in teachers about a year ago, but the directors took over the lead roles in the classroom to ensure stability in the class. Any time I have had a concern they are always open to discuss and come up with a resolution that I am comfortable with. I have never experienced mistreatment to a child and feel like they always handle the different behaviors appropriatley. I would and do recommend this school to South Tampa families look for a good school for their young child.

My daughter has been attending VPK this school year at First Discoveries. She is so happy to go to school each day and has learned so much! The teachers that my child has worked with are kind and caring and take great care of the children. They are so accommodating with food allergies. It is so great that they are able to offer a healthy breakfast and lunch for each child. The food is prepared and cooked at the school. The teachers plan fun events and field trips for the children. I also love that the children attend Chapel on Wednesdays. We could not be happier with the choice to send our daughter to First Discoveries!

We have noticed racial behavior by some of white female teachers. Especially, the director Ms. Cindy who supposes to be a qualified teacher for students of 4 years and 5 years old possesses a biased behavior. Educations standard is too low. Out of four hours, students get to play for two hours. No education standards whatsoever. Ms. Joanna is complete racist towards the students and parents. We have noticed that she only likes to speak to white people. Bathroom door is always open in the class and students drink water from bathroom tap.

My son went here last summer. We loved His teacher. But one day I walked up to the window to pick my son up and the aid MISS. KRISTEN had my son by the arm, screamed in his face slammed him in a chair, missed the chair and did it again. When I came is she was then over a little boy named Aidrian screaming how he was a bad boy and always fighting! I did all I could not to yell. I came home and called them. Then the state. I bet nothing was done. DO NOT TRUST YOUR CHILD HERE!!!!!

After careful research and consideration we decided to try out this school for our 1yr and 3yr old boys. They are attending for full day schooling. 5 stars would be if they had a nice facility and cleaner place. Fortunately the Quality of the Teachers and the joy they provide more than makeup for that. We just finished attending the kids Christmas performance and besides it being warm, it was very well done. Looking forward to many more years of having our kids go here.
