I got a haircut from Omar (the owner). Within 1 minute in the chair, he starts off with a comment of, "So your hair is thinning, huh?". During the small talk conversation that you have to help the time pass, I ask a few simple questions- What made you choose the location? , What do you specialize in? How long have you been a barber?, Omar stops and says (verbatim), "You know the questions that you are asking me are not normal questions, they are questions that a barber, or a friend of a barber would ask" as if i was some type of spy trying to infiltrate his (empty) barber shop during my lunch break. He then proceeds to tell me that he has a lot of "Haters" which is hilarious to me that a grown man is still using that term. The haircut itself wasnt horrible but nothing special either. The fact that this shop was closer than my usual barber had me hoping this would be a new place I could come to, but with such a paranoid owner who accuses his customers, i can say that Ill never come back here again.

I give them 3 because they are professional and do a great job but arent reliable if you set a time frame. I was heading out of state last week and worked in st. Pete so called and said id be in from 6-7pm since it was raining and traffic was bad. I arrived at 6:40pm 20min before they close and they said they were done for the day and closed. I understand it was 20min before they actually closed but i was willing to tip extra if it had gone past closing time, either way they said no and i ended up having to find a different shop. If i had known they stopped at 630 then i would have found somewhere else instead of sitting in traffic trying to rush there. Again they are good barbers just disappointed about this incident.

Best Barbershop in Tampa!!!!! My boyfriend is very picky when it comes to trying new barbers but pleased to say that he received the best haircut yet. Referred from a friend we were very skeptical on trying a new shop but immediately when you walk in you can distinguish that this is an upscale barbershop. They offer water, coffee and a TV as you wait. The lounge area was very clean and comfortable. Definitely a place where you would want to hang out at. Omar is excellent and will deliver exactly what you want. Price is well worth the cut. You know what they say, "You get what you pay for" ... Thank you Omar for the best haircut, environment and customer service.....Will see you again soon

Definitely one of the best hot shave experiences Ive had. The staff are helpful and are excellent conversationalists. They were absolutely ready to work with me in every detail and even gave me a breakdown of how certain cut differences would affect my hair style and morning routine. If you do not ask questions or talk to them they will not baby you and will give you exactly what you requested, no frills - this is no chain salon so dont go in expecting that sort of treatment. VIP is a traditional barber with modern aesthetic and experience and thats exactly what I wanted.

They take their time here and actually listen. I drove from Brandon and its definately worth it. Nice laid back atmosphere and they dont rush you out the door just to get to the next customer. This has that extra level of service Ive been looking for. Luis is an excellent barber and he cares about the quality of work he does. Someone mentioned the prices on the review and all I have to say is you get what you pay for here, and I think they are perfectly reasonable for the high level of quality. Clean shop and nicely done on the inside.

Good atmosphere, a chill place you can go to get yourself refreshed and feeling right. I felt as if I was back in my old time traditional shop, but these gentleman bring a fresh flavor to old school charm. Omar tightened me up, he gave me just the cut I was looking for. Im new to Tampa so Im looking for regular spots with good people where I can go to be comfortable and get just what I need. I definitely found that place when I need a cut. I highly recommend The VIP!!

Omar the shop owner is amazing as are all the barbers here, I used this location prior to moving about 40 minutes away and after a year of bad experiences and searching for barbers we just decided to drive back to what we knew was what we wanted! Its totally worth the drive to return and moving forward I will only trust my boys with VIP, thanks Omar for going above and beyond! Were happy to be back boys are looking sharp for back to school!

I just moved to north Tampa and had to find a new barbershop. Kind of disappointed to leave my old shop but its about an hour away. After trying a few other shops I stumbled across VIP. The shop itself is very clean and the waiting area is comfy. Ive had my hair cut there three times now and I can say that Im more happy with this cut than I have been in a long time. I highly recommend this place to my fellow business professionals.

By far the best in Tampa, quality people and quality harircuts. The whole experience was awesome and felt great, the final cut I received was better than I was expecting. Out of all the other places Ive tried this Omar got me the exact cut I wanted for an amazing price. I highly recommend it to guy who needs a cut of any kind.

I have gone to this barber shop for at least a year. Both my kids go as well. Despite my loyal business, I was treated like an idiot who didnt know what an appointment is. I am a fairly tolerant person but I dont like to be treated like a disobedient child. My family will not be back. I do not recommend this barber shop.

I honestly refuse to let anyone else cut my hair. I think cutting a womans hair is a little different but Omar (The Owner) gets it right every time. He as well as his barbers are very professional and clean and I love the atmosphere. Ive also had designs done in my hair and loved It. You cant go wrong with VIP Elite.

Took my two grandsons and they where both very satisfied with the quality of the cuts. There barbers name was Joe and was very kind. There was no long waits and had a comfortable atmosphere. I highly recommend this shop and will come again.
