Honestly, I wish I had the experience that these other people had. I was really in the mood for a good sandwich, which led me to Cafe at Pharr. I ordered the pastrami special, which they couldnt explain to me what was even on it, or what it consisted of. In all of my experience in the restaurant industry, my number one pet peeve is a poorly trained, misinformed server. You need to know your product to sell it. I also asked for a side salad, which I was told I could have...to then have my server come back and say they dont do them. So I asked for chips, sun chips specifically, which they said they have...but then I get regular lays chips instead. When my sandwich arrived, it looked like it was pulled out the back of the fridge, and it tasted like it too. The sandwich all around was ice cold, and the bread and pastrami tasted like it was a last day deal at publix. And the yogurt roll that came with it clearly came from a supermarket too, as it was still frozen in the middle from not completely thawing. Needless to say, Ive never been so happy to eat a bag of lays chips. The bright side is that it was a cheap lunch, but Id rather take that money and pay to get dickpunched...at least Id get what I expected. Very poor service...in both parts of the house. Im honestly just sad that I came, you could taste the amount of care not given to the ingredients. It seemed to have a lot of promise. Good from Pharr, Pharr from good.

I go here weekly to get chicken salad or sandwich. The chicken salad plate/sandwich either walnut chicken or curry chicken is what you go there for. Also people really like the chicken curry entre. But if you want a roast beef or ham sandwich I dont think this is going to be your jam. I see people order it from time to time so people like it, but again its chicken salad is why people go here. But its one of the few restaurants in the area that has really good lite choices. Nothing is heavy about this place. Also the cookies from Cookie Creations in the same place are the bomb. Downsides? Parking because its so popular. Dont let the negative Nancys drag you down. They mis-ordered.

A friend recommended their chicken salad and she was right - SO good I periodically get cravings for it. Its not too much mayonnaise and finely shredded chicken. Its my dream chicken salad on some really tasty/soft bread. The cream puff served on the side is the perfect lightly sweet treat to finish the meal off with! The dining area is so small Ill often just get my food to go, but definitely give it a chance if you like chicken salad at all! They have a number of different types to try. (Bonus: Great story about the restaurants origin on the menu.)

Running off their branded name but this place would not have come to life back in the days with the conditions it is now. Bathrooms are awful. Service is great though. I feel like the food lacks essence at times but overall good taste, just plain. My wifes chicken salad croissant was much better but this salad was just plain and boring!

Completely agree with Summit. Per his recommendation I had a salad and oh my I was in for a treat. The Spinach salad was perfect, with a phenomenal dressing to go with it. Super healthy and filling, I definitely plan on coming back here!

Pretty good sandwiches with nice bread types (ie. croissants, bagettes and more). They include ample helpings of meat and the little filled pastry bites and grapes included with to-go sandwiches are a nice touch.

Pretty good lunch place. I got the teriyaki chicken rice plate, but I was really jealous of my friends salad plate so thats what Ill be getting next time. Really fast service and you just seat yourself.

My go-to place to eat lunch/brunch. I definitely love the curry rice plate and the curry chicken salad sandwich. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick and healthy bite to eat!
