My niece just showed me the three previous reviews and I wish I had seen them before I went to this shop. The best thing I can say about Ella is that she is consistent...consistently horrific! I could not believe how similar my experience was with the descriptions in the other reviews. At least now my family and friends know that I was not exaggerating when I described what happened there. My experience was so bad it was comical; I was looking around for the cameras...I couldnt believe she was as abrasive and unprofessional as she was. First, when I arrived at the shop she asked if my hair was natural or permed. I told her it was permed (had a touch-up three weeks before), then she loudly said she would have to check it because so many people come in and lie about their hair so they will not have to pay "like that customer there" as she gestured to a sitting customer being serviced. After my wash and a 5 minute, so-called "deep condition," I asked her if she needed to inspect my hair so I could know whether she was going to charge me the natural price or permed price. She asked her assistant in spanish who in turn told her that it was permed. So Ella told me the charge would be $30.00. I said "the sign on the door says on Mondays it is $20.00 for a wash and set." You would have thought I cursed her mother...she went off in the loudest and most abrasive manner imaginable about how that price was not for me because I was a new customer and it was her shop and she would charge whatever she wanted and that no one had ever complained about it before, and on and on. I went back and forth with her a bit, telling her that her sign was misleading and that she should indicate that the price was for her regulars or at least let people know her policy before their hair is washed and conditioned. After our exchange ended she started talking about me in spanish to the other "hairstylists" unaware that I understand spanish. I jumped in the conversation to tell her that I was not trying to cause a problem, as she indicated, and that I could pay whatever the price was. She said she was talking about another client and then the shop got quiet for a very long time. Later she yelled at me for beginning to help her assistant take the curlers out. When I flinched after she burned me with the blow dryer while smoothing the curler bumps she sarcastically said "you said youve been to Dominicans before, this is what we do." I had to tell her (in the most diplomatic way I could muster) that my scalp is not supposed to burn. After she was done styling my hair she told me that my hair "didnt make sense" because even though I have long hair my ends looked bad because I needed a trim. I knew that I needed a trim and in fact had planned on asking for one (before I entered her shop), but she is the last person I would let come near me with a pair of scizzors. Anyway, at payment time I asked if she accepted amex or mastercard. She yelled "didnt you see the sign? (of course I had not because she was so abrasive when I first arrived that I did not bother looking at the wall behind her where the sign was, I was looking at her crazy self.) Anyway, I told her I would go to the ATM in the store next door and she told me to leave my things so that she would know that I was coming back. I paid and left. The Dominican shop off Jimmy Carter Blvd. (Maxs) is full of professional and kind people, who give a great deep condition and do a great job. Unless I find a place closer to the Cascade area I guess Ill be taking the 40 minute trek to Maxs because I will never, ever go back to Ellas! Nor will my family and friends!

MISS Ella is quite feeling herself! Customer service is not her talent & after her rudeness I wouldn't care how she does hair. First of all the sign in the window says MONDAY SPECIAL NATURAL HAIR WASH & PRESS $35. PLUS, I CALLED & WAS ADVISED THAT TO WASH & PRESS WOULD BE $35 BEFORE I WENT TO THE SALON LOCATED IN A NOT SO GREAT AREA TO ADD. I GET THERE TO GET MY DAUGHTER HAIR DONE & I SAY YES I CALLED I WANT TO GET MY DAUGHTER HAIR DONE WASH & PRESS. SHE SAID RUDELY $55. I SAID WELL I CALLED & WAS TOLD $35 PLUS YOU HAVE A HUGE SIGN COVERING A WHOLE WINDOW THAT SAYS TODAY $35. I SAID SO WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE? ELLA SAYS THAT'S MY $ IF YOU WANT IT STRAIGHT. SO I SAY OH IT DOESN'T GET STRAIGHT ON THE SPECIAL? ELLA SAYS IF YOU WANT IT DONE ITS $55 & EVERYTHING ELSE IS EXTRA INCLUDING CONDITIONER. I WAS SO MAD I'M LIKE JUST CAUSE I GOT A BENZ DON'T MEAN YOU CAN CHANGE PRICES THAT'S CRAZY..I MEAN JUST NASTY TONE, BODY LANGUAGE, AND MANNER. ITS PLENTY OF SALONS RIGHT UP THE STREET AT CAMP CREEK IN A MUCH NICER AND SAFER ENVIRONMENT AND FOR A CHEAPER PRICE AND MUCH BETTER SERVICE. ELLA SUCKS!

First I would like to say that this salon has done my hair better than anyother Dominican Salon in Atlanta. Ella is also amazing at cutting hair. On that note I will never return because the service is horrible! Its really unforunate that even people like me who had been loyal to her catch her raft when shes having one of those days (which is often). The last straw was her telling that they had a new Monday special for natural hair and I should come on Mondays. When I called a few Mondays later to make sure there was space she cursed me out (literally) and said that, "Were open more days of the week than Mondays" and that "you people need to pay regular price sometimes!" Then she hung up on me. I was so shocked that I called back, thinking that maybe she didnt realize who I was and that someone crazy had just upset her on the phone. When I called she would pick up on the first ring then hang up the phone immediately ( they have caller id). I am not a rude person and was actually hurt by her treatment of me. In fact I was the last of my friends to continue seeing her after they complained of the same treatment! This could be a 5 star salon if the OWNER was more professional.

Sitting in this salon at this very moment and thinking why didnt I follow my gut. They only take cash and you have to pay before they do anything to your hair. The guy washing my hair had no clue what he had no clue how to wash. It felt like he was running and skipping in my hair. Next, her daughter rolled my hair. Oh my goodness!!! I felt like my neck was going to break while holding it back so she could roll the front. I asked could she adjust the seat so I didnt have to do all the work of moving. Mommy jumped in and said" stop moving your head like a bobble head !!!" Whattttt!!!! If I hadnt paid my money I would walk out of here. I dont need to read your mind to know what way you want me to turn, bend or adjust my head. I will be going back to Anas in Austell from now on!!! No matter how far I have to drive, the closet salon to home is not all ways the best!!!
