I went to Gossip Salon a couple of weeks ago for a haircut. I had never been there before but had VERY high hopes because of the awesome reviews they got. I got an appointment with no problem at all! The greeting I got when I arrived was less than expected. The girl at the front desk seemed completely disinterested in me/why I was there/ my existence/etc. She went through the motions of asking my name and appointment time and if I would like anything to drink (as if she were reading it off of a card that she had read a million times before). I did not feel welcome at all... Lisa was my stylist. She was nice, but also seemed out of it/disinterested in what was going on. I showed her a picture of the style I wanted and she proceeded to cut. When she was finished, I wasnt thrilled with the style ( just used a round brush and blow dried it) because it looked like I had just woken up. She didnt pull the ends together to make sure that they were even either, but I shrugged that off and told her I was happy with it... That is until I went to the restroom at Target and realized that on one side I had a hunk of hair that was hanging about an inch lower than any of the rest! SERIOUSLY? $55 haircut and it isnt even?! I immediately went home to wash and style my hair myself only to find that there were SEVERAL places that were uneven, my layers had been cut STRAIGHT ACROSS and were VERY BLUNT and EXTREMEMLY noticeable! This had by far been the WORST haircut I have ever had. I would never go back there again even if someone else paid for it. I am just upset that I paid $55 for an awful haircut that was covered up by bad styling.

I got a Brazilian Blowout two weeks ago from Marie Maggard and I absolutely love it. I was really skeptical at first because of the price and some of the articles I had read online about bad experiences. I had gotten a Keratin straightening about five years ago in a different salon that was a horrible experience, cost a ton of money, and lasted less than three weeks. And yes, I followed all of the directions. So after hoarding a little bit from each of my babysitting on the weekend jobs I had enough money and courage to call Marie and set it up. She did a great job easing my fears and calming me down after my nightmare the night before that we did the treatment and all of my hair melted off and I had scalp burns. Thankfully that is not what happened. What did happen was that my year round frizzy straggly hair became smooth and sleek. And even when I leave it all natural, which I had never been able to do in my life, there is no frizz, just soft curls. This weekend I was at a girls weekend with old high school friends on Tybee Island in the heat and humidity and it still looked great. All of my friends were amazed that I could get right out of the water and walk around in all that humidity and they could still see around me, not blocked by my totally frizzed out hair. So thank you Marie, for finally giving me hair that I love, for the first time that I can remember!! And if you are on the fence, you should go for it. It is an expensive treatment, but it is so worth it.

Ive gotten my hair cut twice now, and both times I have walked out crazy happy with the results. Its always a good idea to bring some photos to make the cut conversation more productive. The salon is clean and comfortable, the parking lot is convenient, and their online booking system makes life so much easier. The first time I made an appt using their online booking system, the hairdresser was nice enough to text me a few days in advance and ask me what kind of cut I was looking for. If youre a new client, the salon makes sure that youre paired with the most seasoned hairdresser for what you want. If youre looking to get a long bob (angled or otherwise), Jessica does a great job! Shes so good at the beachy wave blowout I might just hit her up next time I need to dress to impress. Doesnt hurt that shes super sweet too, and texted me the day after my cut to make sure my hair was doing all right. What service! Im done trying out other salons/hairdressers.

Kim Tran is the BEST NAIL SPECIALIST! I am a retired full salon owner/operator, so I am very picky about my nails. I ALWAYS leave her table with a smile on my face! She is very professional and personable. My schedule is very erratic, so its hard for me to keep a regular 2wk appointment. She always gets me in, even when its been as long as 4-5wks! Of course she would rather I get in as close to 2wks as possible, but I am very grateful that she does such an amazing job! I get complimented on my nails all the time! So if you are thinking about a change or are wanting or needing to pamper yourself.....give Kim a try....you will be very happy that you did! She does waxing, wonderful pedicures and beautiful nail art as well. Cindy is also very good and as sweet as can be. A very satisfied customer! :-)

I went in for a color and cut with Ursula. My hair was in sad shape, and the color was uneven and bizarre. I told Ursula what I wanted, she worked with my hair and put a lot of thought into and tada!!! She got it exactly right! Add to that, she got the cut exactly like I wanted, which was a combination of four different pictures! Ursula is sweet and funny, and puts a lot of thought into what shes doing. To put icing on the cake, there is no hard sell for hair product. If you ask she will tell you what shes using, but she is clearly a great hairstylist and not a product-pusher. I love, love, love my hair and I believe I have finally found a stylist that I will stick with! Go there, you will not be disappointed!

What is the likelihood of going to a hairstylist for the first time as a new client and leaving completely satisfied? Such was my experience at Gossip Salon. I booked my appointment at the last minute and there was no problem fitting me in. The receptionist whose name I failed to get, was super kind, which is so important, as its the first impression a client receives of a salon. She booked me with Marie, which turned out to be an excellent choice. You can tell Marie really cares about the quality of her work. She listened to my needs, added her professional input, took her time and remained focused throughout. The end result was fabulous hair cut and a perfect brow wax.

I have been going to Gossip Hair Salon for my hair needs for a quite a few years now. Each time I walk in the doors, I am immediately greeted and taken care of. My stylist is Marie Maggard and she is incredible! She has been my stylist for over 10 years! She is the only person I trust with my hair! My hair is extremely curly and thick. Marie just knows how to make my hair look amazing despite what it might be doing that day! She is sweet, professional, and talented. She truly listens to her clients and works with them to create a look that is all their own. She will make your hair look better than you ever thought possible!
