My daughter is beginning her 3rd year with Royal Dance Academy. I initially selected this school because of the focus on classical technique and the rigor of the Royal Academy of Dance curriculum and methodology. The schools instructors are certified through RAD, and the students are assessed by graded examinations given by international representatives. The exams are not required and are age and skill level appropriate. As I continued to witness the directors dedication to supporting and nurturing their students, I knew this was the place for my daughter. Since the dance world is notorious for intensity and pressure, it is a pleasure to be in a program committed to the well-being and positive experience of children. The owners and management team are parents, and I suspect this positively influences the decisions made on behalf of student instruction and performance. The students perform twice during the academic year. There is a winter performance that is a casual, family affair. This experience allows students to gain stage experience without the intense pressure often associated with spring recitals. The spring show is divided into multiple shows. The youngest children have their own performance independent of the longer show. When the young dancers arrive for the spring performance, they are taken on a tour of the theater, dressing rooms, stage lighting area, etc..They realize that the stage is not intimidating or frightening. Such efforts to acclimate the dancers to the stage help to ensure that even the youngest dancers are comfortable and confident. The instruction is always high quality and engaging. I also appreciate the instruction provided to parents on creating the "ballet bun" (hair) and other relevant details to the dance world.

My kids love it here. The focus is on technique and quality of dance instead of prepping a piece for competition. My kids have become far better dancers than I ever thought they would in the 2 years we have been here. My son has had a great experience with amazing teachers and role models that have led him to love dance and to be proud to be a boy who dances. The ballet program is rigorous but turns out beautiful dancers. Excellent teachers and lots of opportunities for the kids to learn and grow.

We are new to the area and needed to sign my daughter up for dance. She has been dancing for years and just loves it. I tried another studio (see my other review) and was so so disappointed. We ended up changing to Royal and we couldnt be happier. It is a beautiful space with amazing instructors. Feels like a second home to us. I am so happy to have finally found a studio that has great instruction as well as a great atmosphere. Thank you Royal!!!!!!!!!

We had a very bad experience with this studio. Rehearsals are scheduled at the last minute without regard to other commitments that you might have. In addition, they are too expensive as compared to their competitors. There are too many other studios that will train your child just as well if not better. This studio is extremely unorganized and completely chaotic. I could go on and on.... Save your time and money!

My three boys are very happy at The Royal Dance Academy. Sarah, Jay, and their instructors care so much about the kids, and the quality of dance education is top notch. The little ones have so much fun that they dont even realize their learning ballet technique, and the older kids have so many opportunities to learn and grow as dancers of all genres- its really just a fabulous place to dance.

The Royal Dance academy is more than just a great dance studio. Yes they have wonderful instructors and a curriculum that both challenges and supports young dancers. But youll find also a warm and caring community as well. I can say truly that the owners top priority is serving young dancers and not the bottom line. I cant rate this studio high enough!

It was my daughters first year at RDA, she has been dancing for 10 years and it was amazing to see how much see grew in her skills. The RDA is a great dance academy. I recommend it!!!!!
