Dishonest Electrician! We had our power go out at our rental property and needed an electrician to give an honest assessment of what was needed. As we were not at the property at the time of the outage, we had very little information as to what happened, just an account from our tenants. We called around and finally contracted Pat Murphy and Daniel Devoid was the electrician that came out. He then proceeded to tell me that the work would take over $5000 to complete and couldnt really produce much information as to what was wrong, only some babbling about the insulation around the wire being cracked. I paid the $54 service fee to be lied to! We called another electrician and he said no damage had even been done to the property. For whatever reason, the GA Power folks thought we had a faulty ground wire - turns out the Comcast installer used a green wire to rig up the Comcast install, and GA Power thought it was something else. An honest electrician would have pointed that out. A dishonest electrician, who gets paid on commission, will try and rake you over the coals. I am very disappointed that we made the mistake in calling Pat Murphy out to our property. Fortunately we only are out the service fee, dont make our mistake!

There is not a term given above excellent on your list, but what the response and service we received from Pat Murphy on April 24, 2013 at 2:30PM was CANNOT be rated below OUTSTANDING! John Poplin, manager at Pat Murphy, received our urgent call at the Justice Center for help when major lights in our training room failed. Our administrative manager asked for service ASAP as we had high level federal professionals from all over the country taking training in the room with no lights. Mr. Poplin had 2 technicians on our premises within 6 minutes of our call. This response is nothing short of OUTSTANDING SERVICE. The high level administrators from Washington, D.C. said our electricians beat their onsite building electricians by 20 minutes. Thank you, Mr. Poplin, and Pat Murphy for service that astounded our federal clients, was truly amazing, and made our national clients VERY Happy!! Please pass on our thanks to Mr. Poplin and the 2 exceptional technicians he dispatched to solve our problem within 15 minutes of arriving at our offices.

On February 15, 2013, I had the one and only good experience connected with trying to fix up my home. John K of Pat Murphy Electric came out to determine the cause of limited power to my home. He is the nicest man and a rarity: someone who exhibits courtesy, kindness, dedication, fairness, humility, etc. He found the problem, got Cobb EMC to the house, stayed to make sure everything was under control, fixed an unrelated problem that wasnt up to code, and charged me far less than I had expected. The problem was caused by the plumber hitting the power line. The plumber had been repairing the sewer line we think was damaged by the power company. This is the kind of aggravation I have experienced this past month UNTIL John K showed up and restored hope that SOMEBODY knows what theyre doing and treats the customer well. Thank you, John K of Pat Murphy Electric!

I am incredibly pleased with the service received from Pat Murphy Electric. Paul T. was our main electrician and he did an outstanding job. Very clean, thorough, and professional. Our home was built in the 1950s so had some dated (and sometimes funky) electrical systems. We replaced many outlets in the house with grounded ones and Paul clearly explained each step of the process. An even bigger task was the installation of canned lighting in our Kitchen and Living room. After being led astray by our home improvement store, Paul helped us get the right equipment for the install. We are very pleased with each of the projects completed, and the timely and clean manner they were done. I would highly recommend Pat Murphy Electric (and specifically Paul T.) to anyone looking to complete a residential electric project, big or small.

I just had a 240V 50Amp outlet installed in my garage by Dave and Gerald from Pat Murphy Electric and they did an outstanding job. They arrived yesterday morning, on time, walked me through two options for doing this installation (since my master panel was full), including the pros and cons of each, answered all my questions clearly and professionally and then did the install, which was pretty involved, in one and a half days. They were very respectful of my home and family as they did the work and showed me everything they did, and re-explained how they did it, at the end of the job. I was very impressed with how helpful and professional Dave and Gerald were, and I will definitely call Pat Murphy Electric again if I need any more electrical work done in the future.

These guys are the real deal. No nonsense, skilled electricians. I have had them out to our residence twice. The first time was about a year ago after another competitor tried to sell me a new copper panel for $2000. I called Pat Murphy. The technician, David Pope, was tremendous in terms of customer service and technical skills. He solved the problem for about $225! Today, he returned for a separate issue, a short in a plug. He solved the problem in about 15 minutes and the rate was what I was quoted over the phone. I applaud the professionalism and strong ethics of David Pope and Pat Murphy Electric. You are our electrical company and we highly recommend you! Keep up the solid work!!

I had Mark Neal and his apprentice Travis replace my circuit breaker box. The old one was close to 40 years old and was showing wear and had become a safety issue. Mark and Travis were very professional. They arrived on time, did the job in the amount of time they said it would take and I was charged the same amount I was quoted. I am very impressed with their service and the amount of knowledge they had in solving my problem. I would not hesitate to call Pat Murphy Electric again for any electrical problem I have and I will be recommending them to my friends. It was such a relief to have people do exactly what they said they were going to do!

David Brian Moore and TM were fantastic. They came out to figure out why our new treadmill knocked other breakers off. It was a weird situation, and the easy answer would have been to install a new, dedicated 20 amp circuit, which would have been expensive and messy. But these guys were pros: they kept investigating to find that the root cause was actually that the treadmill itself had a problem and that no dedicated circuit was necessary after all. They also pointed out a few other things that were sub-optimal about our breaker box setup – the surge protector wasnt visible and thus we wouldnt know if it failed – was icing on the cake.

We recently used Pat Murphy Electric for our second round of home renovations. Mark did a great job discussing the project with us and estimated the cost very accurately, as it turned out. David Brian Moore and Tom M did the work for us, which included installing several power outlets and fan boxes, moving switches and outlets, running new kitchen and outdoor circuits, and demolishing old circuits. All the work was in an old house with original plaster walls and they did an excellent job minimizing patching on old walls. The whole team was very responsive to our requests, so we ended up with exactly what we wanted.
