Meh Ta
Went in saturday december 10 around 3 pm with my friend and there were 30 people waiting to checkout. My friend was looking for help but couldnt tell who was an employee. When trying on fragrances I heard an employee at the makeup counter say to a lady "so youre going for the blonde, mom look" and thought that was a pretty distasteful comment but whatever. My friend commented later on that he doesnt want to shop there anymore because he was looking for customer service but couldnt find anyone and couldnt tell who was an employee. He then heard two older women employees at the front talking about how all the shoppers were in another area so there was nothing for them to do. He heard them say "shes not going to find foundation here her skin is too light" and making fun of the ladys dark red hair. Just a warning that this is not always a safe environment for mom or children!! There were at least 80 people in the store and the only conversations I could hear were from employees. Very unprofessional, gossipy environment with some employees who are apparently not interested in helping people look and feel better. ALSO I am a platinum member here and had the platinum 20% offer last year. One of the items I got with my discount I took back to exchange for something that was the around the same price normally (urban decay eyeshadow for urban decay mascara) but she made me pay six more dollars because I had received a 20% discount on the first item. It was frustrating because I took the item back while the 20% off offer was still valid... Ha ha also my boyfriend walked by someone getting their eyebrows done and had to tell me about how unsure the employee was while applying wax to the girls face. The employee was applying wax and then stopped to ask what she wanted. the waxes happen in the busiest part of the store sitting in a chair. I recommend going somewhere where you can lay down so that it is more comfortable for both the esthetician and you. As for the knowledgeability of the employees, I went in specifically for an eye cream but didnt want an anti aging eye cream. Later on I found out the eye cream the lady directed me to that I have been using has a bunch of anti aging benefits. The employees dont know anything about the product benefits, its unbelievable.

NEVER get your hair done here! I was just exploring the store when one of their hair stylists approached me and tried to convince me to get my hair done at their salon. They claimed it would only be 50 dollars for the whole thing (highlights, cut and style) so my mother and I decided to give them a try. HUGE MISTAKE! The stylist we had didnt really care how we wanted our hair, but rather it was very clear that she was going to do what she wanted and not what the customer wanted (and while I dont mean to be rude or catty, her hair was horrible; I know theres my sign right?). She dyed my hair completely white, and Im not talking about even platinum or bleach blonde (which I wanted my hair to be a golden honey color, which wouldnt think would be too hard because my hair was already naturally pretty blonde) no when I say white, I mean like snow white. Of course I was horrified and told her right off the bat thats not what I wanted it, so she then tried to sell me on adding lowlights. She described in a way that made it seem like it would fix the problem, but she didnt do what she said she was going to do she merely just dyed my whole head a dark dull brown and then added black streaks; she just made it look like I was a zebra that rolled in the mud. At this point she had already charged me a extra 100 dollars to fix HER mistake, so I decided that instead of letting her try and fix it AGAIN for yet another extra 100 that I would go and get it fixed else where. The stylist also keep trying to get me to buy product that I told her many times I was allergic to. Then to top things off she copped off my mothers hair and dyed her head orange (she just wanted to be a honey blonde too) my mother however took the smart route out and did not pay her an extra 100 dollars to try and fix her horrible mistake. Over all the stylist clearly didnt not know what she was doing and was very set in how she would thinks your hair should look. I would never ever go there again even if they said they would do my hair for free. AVOID THIS ONE LADIES! Take your hard earned cash else where!

Alright... So I said I would never rant about this but it happened again yesterday so rant time. My boyfriend and I used to frequent this Ulta store every week. I loved using my coupons and getting stuff cheaper. We would go every Sunday just to see what was on sale and if I really needed it I would buy it. A lot of the people working there already knew us by first name. About a month before the holidays they hired a bunch of new people that I had never seen. Anywho, my boyfriend and I went to the nail polish area to check out the colors when he heard a security call on the walkies to go to our particular area. Then we were surrounded by at least 4 employees at all times. And Im not kidding. I would move to the makeup section and there were at least 3-4 employees around me. Now, Ive been here so many times that even the guy with the hair called me by my name and greeted me normally. And when we left, there was at least 6 employees dismissing us as we opened the door to leave. Needless to say Ive never gone back to Ulta after that. (Only to cut my hair) Now yesterday I wanted my cousin, sister and I to try some face masks. Ulta was opened so I said ehh what the hell. Same experience. This time the manager was the one following me. I saw her a total of 10 times in the span of 30 minutes. She was awfully rude and inconsiderate. Now heres my problem, I would never steal anything. Why do I need to be watched? I really did feel racially profiled. So Ulta, if youre listening to me, I will never ever step foot in your store again. I will be taking my money to Sallys Beauty Salon cause they have never profiled me and have been very knowledgeable in their products. Good bye.

Good makeup store, but the employees are the worst. Ive had multiple horrible experiences with the Nampa Ulta employees. A couple months ago I went in there looking for the Becca Pearl highlighter they were out of stock which I totally understand so I asked an employee who was just standing there laughing with another co-worker. When I asked her she seemed super annoying I was interrupting her conversation. I asked her if she knew of another brand that had around the same color or quality of the Becca highlighter her reply was, "every brand has highlighters just go look" from what im aware of is Ulta is suppose to help you have a question about makeup which is why they work there. The other instance was yesterday. I went in there because I bought the shape tape tarte concealer online and it was too dark. I forgot the receipt at my house but I thought it would be okay since i have the order info on my phone from my online acct. The lady who was helping me and was very nice but told me I had to have an email conformation of the order even though she could pull it up online and see all the info. All I was asking was for a giftcard to buy another concealer since they were out of my shade. She said she would ask her manager. When he finally got up there he said no she needs her receipt or were not going to help her. He acted like i wasnt there i didnt get a sorry or any type or acknowledgement from him. I will never shop at this store again!! Worst experience ever.
