I came into this barber shop expecting a simple haircut with nothing special, considering its presence online is unknown. I waited a few minutes because I was a walk-in, and noticed great barbershop etiquette. Not only do they have warm shaving cream to shave customers necks free of charge, but they offer customers over the age of 21 a beer when they sit down. What could be better than drinking a nice brew when youre getting your hair cut? My barber, Johnny, also cut my hair with an edge of OCD. He seemed to be a perfectionist and made sure to cut my hair to my specifications. Although the conversation factor wasnt there, he still did a great job on my hair and made it a relaxing experience.

Let me start by saying that I never have a clue on what I want. I dont get cuts often and I give vague directions for my haircut. I go in with a picture (lame, I know) and a prayer. And boy did Pierre Augustin take care of my prayer. I left extremely glad that i came here. Setting up the appointment was easy (you can do it from their website or call in); i got seated as soon as i walked in. I even scheduled my next appointment before walking out. I look forward to it.

Went here having only read reviews online. 8am appointment with Mario was absolutely awesome. The shop was pretty empty so early which made it a great intimate experience. I think I lucked out by picking Mario because I have longer hair and wanted to keep it pretty long. He was very easy to talk to, did a great job, and I was in and out in exactly 30 minutes. Will definitely go back. As an added perk, it is located in the Monadnock Building and fits perfectly.

My boyfriend got a haircut at Metropolitan yesterday, and the barber, Joseph Hamilton, did an amazing job. He cut off 6 inches of hair, and crafted a suave, modern haircut. The shave was very old fashioned: hot towel, shaving soap, and a straight razor. I was impressed by the barbers attention to detail. Every edge and layer was styled carefully, and the end results were great. Im definitely bringing my boyfriend back here when we come home to Chicago again!

My wife and I have been getting our hair cut from Christian for years now. This shop is fantastic! The entire staff is knowledgeable and provide fantastic hair cuts. There is also a great line of hair products by Christan now offered at the shop. So yourself a favor and get your hair cut here.
