Sarah Muffley - I had been unhappy with some of my previous haircuts with some of the area salons. Id been letting my hair grow back out from a really horrible haircut, but now it was getting unruly and hard to make it look nice. I wasnt really sure where to go, so started searching and reading reviews. People had great things to say about Sizzor Shak, so I made an appointment. My first impression of S/S was that it was a beautiful place. Everything was bright and clean. I was greeted quickly, and everyone I dealt with was very friendly. My stylist was Lisa. I had thought about going very short, so took in some photos. I didnt really want short, short hair, but was so frustrated by my wavy, unruly hair I was ready to chop it off again. She was so sweet, and took the time to actually consult with me, listen to my concerns and desires, and help me find something that would work. We ended up not going short, but she gave me a great cut that lays in so nicely - it is much better than I had anticipated (fear from other salon experiences!). In a really brave move (for me, anyway), I also had my eyebrows done. Id never tried that before, so I was a little nervous.(You see the stories on tv about people getting burned, etc etc.) Lisa did that too, and she did a great job. She was careful and precise. I love my new brows! Theres no need to rely on tweezers when you can have this done. I have no hesitation in recommending folks to try Sizzor Shak for any of their hair/grooming needs. I was very happy, and already look forward to going back! Thank you Lisa!

Ive been here twice (well three times if you count a wig trim) and Ive been disappointed every time I walked out the door. It seems like this location only knows how to do basic haircuts so when I ask for something a little different, they dont know how to make it happen. I tried to give them a second chance by making my 2nd appointment here because the prices are more affordable. I told the young lady I wanted BLUNT bangs and they ended up choppy and not blunt what so ever. I also told her and showed her the longest part of my hair which is my sideburns and said I wanted to keep that length. I dont know how they ended up the shortest. It used to be down to my collar bone but now it only reaches down the side of my jaw. The length in the front was my favorite part of my hair idk how she forgot so now the front looks super awkward and way too choppy. I told her I wanted my layers trimmed, not to add a whole bunch. Maybe she doesnt know how to use a razor. Instead of ending up with cute bangs, light choppy-ness on the sides, and long hair in the front I ended up with an awkward ready to tease 90s mom hair. Oh and I can see how the two sides of my hair werent even cut evenly when I splay it out to the side and run my fingers through. I wish I could post before and after pics and what I actually wanted. I didnt realize I needed to bring in a picture to visually help her with what I thought was a simple hair cut. Now im stuck with wearing my hair up all the time because its embarrassing and I have to wait a couple years for my side burns to grow back out.

Kristi White - I am new to the area and absolutely hated leaving my long time stylist in my hometown. However, I called Sizzor Shak and requested a stylist who was experienced with long, thick hair. They booked me with Megan and got me in the very next day for cut and color. When I arrived, I was greated quite warmly by the staff and made to feel like I was a long time client rather than a new one. The salon was very bright, cheerful and clean. Megan took her time to consult with me about what I wanted and then offered recommendations which really personalized the experience. I got bangs cut in, some framing around the face, and long layers. My cut and color turned out amazing! I was very pleased and received lots of compliments on it! The pricing was very reasonable. I called a few days later to request a color touch up (my new growth didnt take the color as well as the rest of my hair that had previously been colored). The Sizzor Shak accomodated me and again was able to get me in quickly. Megan matched up some new color for my roots and got me all fixed up! She also helped me pick out some new shampoo and conditioner to help my color stay amazing and to help condition my hair. My next appointment is in a few weeks for a bang trim. I am also looking oveer the Facial Menu and will be scheduling a facial, as soon as I can decide on one! The staff and atmosphere of the Sizzor Shak has won me over! This new client is now a loyal client. Thank you Megan and Thank you Sizzor Shak!

The first the I went here my hair turned out great but my hairdresser (forgot her name) freaked out because when she watched my hair a lot came out. One I dont wash my hair everyday, two it stays in a ponytail because of my job therefore my hair doesnt naturally fall out on its own. I told her this and she said no thats not normal. Umm.. Okay. Well a month or so later I went back and requested her again because I did like how my hair came out and she asked if Id seen her before, I said yes. She didnt remember me and I didnt expect her too after only seeing her once but the second she started washing my hair she says "oh yeah I remember you, youre the one that loses a lot of hair" oh thanks, nice way to be remembered. Seriously how does she not know it really is normal to lose a lot of hair. Anyway, again I still went back because I liked the overall environment, and my hair always turned out great; this time I went with someone else and got with Tricia, and she is amazing!! Shes so sweet, great personality, we chat about the old days, hehee. Shes sweet to my daughter. She gives me great and honest tips about my hair and styles that will look good on me. Love her! Thank you Scissor Shack!!

My first time there. I called and was told to come on in. I didnt wait at all! I had horribly messed up my color and badly damaged my thick curly hair, my roots needed a touch up, but the box color i had used prior was NOT the color I wanted, my ends were trashed and a different color also! I thought there was no hope, but after Michelle asked me several questions about what I wanted a what problems I usually had she knew exactly what to do! Very personable and professional it was obvious she knew what she was doing! My hair is the PERFECT shiny color ALL OVER roots too ends! No fried ends to trim either! She did a few different processes to it but it came out healthier than before! With everything she did (a couple hours worth) it was still under $100. My curly, frizzy thick hair has always intimidated salons but Michelle NAILED IT! Will never go anywhere else and its a 30 minute drive!
