Pros: Big, lots of different equipment. Its the only gym in the area I know of besides Lifetime that has a basketball court and a pool in addition to a spinning studio and racquetball courts. The mens locker room is decent, at least. Ive seen worse and Ive seen better. Not enough to change my score, though. Cant say how it is for the womens locker room, though. Location- Cant miss it driving along Army Trail Rd. in Glendale Heights, and super close to my house Cons: Super crowded. Come here between 5 and 7 PM during the after work rush and theres a VERY good chance youll find every single treadmill occupied. Same goes for the free weight area. They have a huge selection of selectorized machines as well, but those often go unused, which applies to me as well. They dont have NEARLY enough lat pulldown machines or pull up machines, though. The people who work here. This is what really knocks this place down to a 1 for me. Every single "free" trial of anything here turns into a subtle but VERY high pressure push for a full membership. They often distribute passes for "free" 3 day trials at other local businesses nearby. I guarantee this will turn into a push for a full membership. Same goes for your "free" fitness analysis, where theyll inevitably try to push you into a full personal training package at a cost of several hundred dollars a month. You couldnt pay me to go back despite the fact that I can easily WALK to this gym!

This gym is a disgusting train wreck. I have been coming here since it opened in 2013, and it has been absolutely fascinating to watch a brand-new facility be run straight into the ground. Whether its mildly unsanitary annoyances such as THE ENTIRE BUILDING RUNNING OUT OF PAPER TOWELS, the personal trainers deciding theyd steal all the free weights and kettlebells for themselves in 2015, and my personal favorite, a distinct lack of (non-"master") personal trainers available before 9 AM SINCE JANUARY OF 2016, there will always be something to shock and horrify you here. At this point I really dont know if your management is incompetent, or actually doing this as a ploy to force anyone with a normal job to upgrade to "master" trainers. Possibly a combination of the two? PS, PLEASE seriously consider cleaning up the glass that has been in the Western entrance parking lot for the past 3 weeks. At least force people to sign up before showing your true colors, dont give the truth away from the exterior! Just a little tip from me to you.

What terrible service. I came to visit my sister and niece and they invited me to workout with them one day. I printed the guest pass and two managers kept forcing me to join. Im already a member of another gym where I live, but they didnt care. They told me I couldnt work out there until I listened to all their membership options. Isnt a fee guest pass one to see if you want to work out there? Then see the membership options????? Terrible terrible first impression! My sister called them earlier in the week too because one of their employees was smoking cannabis in the parking lot in their work shirt. Well she is no longer a member now because of the attitude they gave her too! If you want to build a reputation and clientele, dont follow LA Fitness example and for sure dont pay money to go here.

This gym is great - until you hit the lockers. Like all former Ballys locations, the equipment is old, but the location is airy and bright. I have not noticed any broken-down equipment, or out of order signs. The staff has been very nice. Ive only been there on weekends, so I havent had to deal with the daytime and/or weekday staff. Nor have I had any problems, so I havent truly put the staff to the test. But Ill reiterate, the ones I have talked to were very nice. The lockers are disgusting. The toilet section smells like stale urine. The floor is "hilly," leaving puddles on the floor that make it slippery and treacherous. The lockers themselves are a hundred years old, and are beat up and rusty. I would not recommend this place for someone looking for a gym.

Went to the gym in Glendale Heights to sign up for a guest pass. Several of my friends have told me not to go to that one and instead go to the one in Hanover Park, but I was too stubborn to listen since the Glendale Heights one was closer. I regret going there because the staff was super unfriendly and did not even bother telling me where the womens locker room was. He asked me if I was interested in a membership right now and when I told him I am not at the moment, he blew me off and went back to his phone. Also, he talked really quiet and when I asked him to repeat several times, hed get upset. Never went back after that. No wonder people hates that gym.

I joined here because I moved into the area and a roommate was already a member of a different branch that he was just transferring his membership from. It looks really nice from the outside but this place is nasty. What used to be wipe down stations are just paper towel dispensers on the wall. Bring a towel, lay it down wherever youre skin might touch anything. Equipment is Cramped in. There isnt much room to move. OH, and did I forget to mention its disgusting. Theres a Cardinal down the street I joined and its immaculately clean and cheaper, go there, or if youre willing to fork out the cash go to Lifetime. STEER CLEAR!

terrible facility, very rude workers.... do not reccomemd this place at all.. I signed up for a guest pass and no where on the pass says i have to come in the day i sign up for it... so i went the next day without a problem, the 2nd time i went i was given such a hard time, the manager told me that he couldnt activate my pass because i didnt come in the first day to activate it...i was able to work out... but under the condition that i had to give them a good review.... do not waste your time coming here.

I pay $20 a month, dont let them milk you! The staff is the worst part of the gym, why hide card scanners behind the desk? Always a wait before someone holds the scanner out in front of you so you can go workout! Cant bring anyone as a guest to workout even if Thier from out of town, state or country as they will hound you to sign up for membership. Gym should be a gym not a sales or retail store, will not recommend anyone to go there.

Customer service at its best. I signed up for a free trial for this location. within seconds I get a call from Milad Khamisi welcoming to their club. I planned on going in few days but due to his call I walked in the same day just to use my pass. When I went there, he gave me a tour and before I even know it, I signed up. 5 star to the club and his skills. I have been going there for a month now. I love it. glad I joined them.

LA Fitness has a lot to offer for its price. I signed up primarily for the pool and the free weights. There are plenty of free weights and machines. Although a lot of people are there at prime time (right after work), most people cycle through the equipment pretty quick so wait time is very low. The pool is a little cloudy, but it serves its purpose just fine for lap swim. The sauna was a bonus I didnt know about.
