This place used to be great, until about six months ago when there was an Assistant Director change. The owner/director is only there a few hours a week so having a good Assistant Director is really important. The poor management has led to miserable teachers, high teacher turnover, and a lack of consistency for the children. We moved our 2 year old to a different daycare after realizing he was spending half of his day in the infant room and not progressing. The children were also rarely going outside. We moved our 4 year old to a different daycare after finding out he was spending close to 3 hours for nap time and constantly complaining how hungry he was. When we confronted the teachers on the lack of food they confirmed this is an issue as the center does not have enough food to give children seconds. Its stressful enough to be a working mom and a daycare should not add chaos, uncertainty, and disappointment to your lives. Moving my children to a better daycare has now provided me with the peace of mind that all mothers deserve.

Do not send your children here. Sure I can share my experience with you, but what will speak louder to you is the 16 pages of DCFS violations you can find on the DCFS website under Sunshine report (sunshine.dcfs.illinois.gov). Read for yourself. And if you still choose to leave your children there then you are no better then Bright Start is. To make matters worse.... They just opened another location under a different name. I dont understand why DCFS allows this place to stay open. The owners must be paying them off or something because there is no way they should still be open. Just read for your self.

If you are looking for a daycare that has a real family atmosphere Bright Start is the place. Our daughter attended Bright Start for about a year and during that time Michelle and her team went above and beyond as a daycare center. I always felt that they truly care for each of the children who attend, its not just a business for them. If I ever had concerns or suggestions they were always open and receptive. My daughter has learned a lot from Bright Start, everything from how to interact with other children to speaking spanish.

Nice facility with reasonable price. Very convenient location but also in a neighborhood. Teachers are friendly and experienced. I send my 2 boys there and so far so good.
