Atmosphere is friendly, warm and family like. The decor is certainly in line with the Fire Department theme, subtle and comfortable. I have been here 7 times now and still, I cant help but stare at the gorgeous hand painting on the wall, its a reminder of how grateful we are to have Firefighters. Love the sense of appreciation that eating inside provokes. Anyhow, lets get to the food! All of the sandwiches I have tried are just amazing. Its clearly obvious a lot the sandwich combinations on the menu were well thought out. Hot or Cold you cant go wrong. The Hook and Ladder is my favorite, that Ham with a hint of honey just really does it for me, the Monterey Jack compliments well, I always get extra Monterey Jack on it, try it! Where I have grown so bored of the same old same old at places like JJ and Subway, this cannot happen here, way to much variety. The catering is a home run too, we do that at least twice a month. Steve often handles that and it is so simple, 3 minute phone call, 20 people are fed and HAPPY! Thank you Firehouse for coming to Vernon Hills, since I live in Grayslake, I cannot wait to visit the new location coming to Gurnee!

We have visited firehouse subs about 5 times since it opened. We usually get our order to go, and we have always enjoyed our sandwiches. My wife stopped in to pick up some sandwiches and when she got home, she noticed one was not in the bag. I called, and Dan picked up the phone. I started to explained the situation, he knew the sandwich order, and before I finished Dan was asking if he could start another sandwich for us and deliver it. I was just hoping for them to mail us a coupon for a free sandwich, but Dan went above and beyond without needing me to request him to do so. I told him a delivery was not needed, but he said he would be happy to do it because he wanted to make it right. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but when a place has good food AND goes above and beyond make it right, what more could you ask for? Not only did Dan deliver the sandwich quickly, but also gave me a coupon as well. We appreciate the food and the customer service!

I was in around 6pm and I asked them to make some more sweet tea, they told me that they make it in the morning when they open and once its gone we dont make anymore, that not a good way to get return customers.

Our first time at a Firehouse Subs. We will definitely be back. Excellent service and great food. Ive never seen a place with over 60 hot sauces. They arrange them by "heat index" 1 to 10.

First time at a Firehouse and I was not impressed. Service was great food was above a gas station sandwich but lower than Subway and I am not a Subway fan.
