When you walk in no matter how big the crowd the hostess should greet you with a smile. Do not expect that here....and not just this visit every time we have gone to CPI we are not warming welcome. It almost felt as if they were doing us a favor by spending our money to eat their food. Anyways I digress.......we were seated 30 minutes pass our reservation time..no biggie since its Saturday night and we know they are busy. Right off the bat we were notified that two waitresses would serve us since we had 10 people so I was thinking great we will get good service! I was wrong....when taking drink orders they didnt ask everyone, food arrived 90 minutes after it was ordered, two steak orders were not cooked at the right temp, eggplant parm was cold, ordered grilled veggies we got steamed, one drink came in a cracked glass, one salad was sent back since it was wrong, missing sides such as mash potatoes/asparagus, and missing entree that showed up after the poor hungry guest ate half her mash potatoes. Once we paid our bills half our party had to leave while a few of us finished our drinks. During at which time someone started to clean up the table while we were still sitting there, no biggie until he pulled a napkin under my wifes arm and didnt even bother to say excuse me. We all have kids and busy lives so when 8 of my close friends take time out of their busy lives to spend some time with me on my birthday and we get this type of service at a "amazing" restaurant it is very disappointing. Ohh yea forgot the best part, the manager came by once i complained and said to make it up he would send over two cannolis when i mentioned to the waitress that no one eats those send over a tiramisu over instead she brings over one small slice for 10 PEOPLE to share!!! Ridiculous!!

Well, I made reservations at this place since it used to be the Rose Bud. I have eaten at the Rose Bud on Taylor Street in Chicago (phenomenal place), but not at any of the other locations. I did not want to drive into the city so we stayed local. We had reservations for 4:00 PM. We were seated at 4:15 PM after a little wait. We ordered right away (Lasagna, Eggplant Parmesan, Italian Sausage and peppers, and soup came with the meal). My wife and I ate here for Valentines day. The bread was fantastic! That is all that was good. The soup arrived over 30 minutes after we ordered it. The salad arrived 15 minutes after that. 90 minutes after we ordered, the food came out. This could have been a Rodney Dangerfield joke (but this was real disrespect)! What a disappointment! The lasagna was not authentic and was over cheesy and lacked flavor. The eggplant Parmesan was a single thin slice of eggplant and like the Lasagna was over cheesy and lacked taste. The sausage and peppers were not authentic and lacked flavor. When the food arrived, we only had time for a bite since we had to leave to pickup our son from work. The bill was $100 and we could have done a lot better at the Olive Garden. Definitely will not be going any Chicago Prime restaurant ever again!.

As an executive assistant in the area, it is my job to ensure that everyone that I serve has the best experience with my company. For once, I got to enjoy being taken care of by A.J. and the staff at Chicago Prime Italian. In my role, I have made countless reservations for lunches and dinners around the area but this restaurant, by far, exceeds all expectations. I have had terrible experiences with chain restaurants losing my reservation and not doing anything to accommodate the guests that I have there. With CPI. The experience is completely different. You feel VIP with them and they do all that they can to ensure a flawless experience. On top of that, the food is absolutely to die for. From the warm bread to the perfectly mixed drinks, the indulgent pasta and the fabulous desserts, you will leave feeling like royalty. A.J. takes the time to greet every guest and make them feel extremely welcome. The hospitality that was shown guarantees me as a loyal customer for life. Do yourself a favor and find out what I am talking about. You will not be disappointed.

The ambience and the decor is the only reason I gave this place 3 stars. Ive wanted to try the place for a while but usually they have a wait time and I never book resrvations. I did call in before going tonight on our way out from Woodfield and they said there was no wait time and to come on in. I got there and the guy asked if we had reservations so I said no and he told me to wait a few moments and theyll tell me how long it would be. I told him I just called less than 5 minutes ago and was told to come on in theres no wait. So I ended up getting a table right away. Food is another story. I ordered Chicken Parmigiana and the Chicken was burnt, the marinara tasted like canned sauce, and the cheese was just ok. Girlfriend ordered Fettuccini Alfredo w/Chicken and it was just plain and the sauce was just ok. Oh and the bread tasted like it was old even though it was 7 pm and the place was pretty busy.

I really wanted to like this restaurant, and the white table cloth setting gave me great hope. Service was slow. My family and I ordered an appetizer and shortly thereafter our dinners with salads. After the bread and appetizer were gone we waited interminably for our salad. No bread refill was ever offered. When the salad did come it was very disappointing -- a supermarket bag salad with a ladle of dressing. Again we waited for over an hour for dinner. The food was above average - risotto had good flavor, pasta and chicken dishes held up well. In all, we spent more than 90 minutes waiting for the next course, and not with attentive service. We were not in the mood to spend and more time for coffee or dessert. With so many very good Italian places in the NW suburbs, Id recommend skipping Chicago Prime Italian.

I visited this restaurant while traveling on business. The waitress in the bar area was excellent, very friendly and helpful in regards to menu and beverage selections. I had the steamed mussels as an appetizer which were very flavorful. For my main course, upon the recommendation of the waitress I ordered the square past with vodka sauce. This was just outstanding . To top off a great dinner at a great price, I had a wonderful experience. I left my credit card at the restaurant and called several hours later, right before they closed. They had my card and told me they would drop it off for me at my hotel after they closed. This is service above and beyond the meal itself and I will eat at this restaurant every time I stay in the area. Wow!! This establishment is outstanding in every aspect. KUDOS!!!

Kudos, to the Management, Wait Staff & Chef at Chicago Prime Italian Restaurant for truly achieving excellence! I recently chose this establishment to host a Wedding Shower. I am a perfectionist when it comes to detail & my Sister who helped me plan the event is a creative visionary. Well Chicago Prime Italian taught us a a thing or two. It was obvious they also have these same traits & have mastered it to the 10s...Their Wait Staff shared our vision & executed it before we even expressed it to them. One of our guests commented they were like "Guardian Angels" floating around anticipating our every need. The food was a story in itself, perfectly seasoned by the Chef and made to perfection. Thank you Chicago Prime Italian for exceeding our expectations!
