Our daughter has attended the Goddard School in Greenwood for 6 months. She transitioned from the 12-18 mo. classroom to the 18-24 mo. classroom during this time. Her teachers have been amazing. She trusts them and they have made the transition from staying at home to part-time school (3 days a week) smoother for the whole family. She even told one teacher last month that she loved her! The in class activities are incredibly beneficial. Our daughter articulates beautifully, especially compared to her peers not attending these types of programs. Her vocabulary is expanding daily. The self-help skill building has also been very effective--cleaning up after meals, picking up toys, putting on her own shoes and coat, putting her dishes away, etc. Keep in mind that she is not even 2 yet! The office staff are professional, friendly and courteous. The owner is often onsite and we see him maintaining the property. He always checks in to see how our daughter is doing and how we like the school. The outdoor play facilities are some of the best in the area for childcare centers. Tuition is comparable to other care facilities in the area - those that are accredited and approach pre-school in the same format. But the "catering fees" are somewhat high and you have to watch these expenses if you are budgeting. (An example: $9 catering fee for a toddler breakfast.) They do offer "parents night out" once a month and this is a great bonus. They also do a lot to contribute to local charity organizations and we love this. We love the Goddard School at Greenwood and plan to keep our daughter attending as long as we live in this area.

My daughter started at the Goddard school when she was 5 months old. Before sending her, I worried about her sleep routine and how she would transition to bottle feeding all day. The nannies in her classroom are amazing, they rocked her to sleep and introduced creative methods to help her transition to the bottle. Once she got accustomed to her daycare routine, they started sleep training her, and in a matter of a few days, she started to fall asleep by herself! In the beginning, I would show up to the daycare unannounced at different times during the day, and I never saw any of the babies crying inconsolably. Other than the normal amount of slight fussing that babies do, all of the children are always in a pleasant mood. The nannies engage all of the babies in constructive play (educational toys, painting, tummy time, and music--no TV in the classrooms). Every staff member at the school knows my daughter by name, and they always have smiles on their faces while working! I have had an extremely positive experience at this Goddard School, and plan on keeping my daughter enrolled throughout the years, until she is ready for Kindergarten!

Its just an ordinary daycare. Nothing special that I found after 1.5 half years of experience. My son started at 3 years old. Pros- Hot breakfast ($3.00 - extra charge per day) Pros - They are involved in several community events/family events throughout the year. Pros - Many toys to play with. Pros - Nice playground. Cons - When the class goes out for a recess, your child HAS to go out regardless of their condition - For example, my son wasnt sick (no fever), but he wasnt at his best condition to go out in a cold weather. I asked if he can stay inside but they strictly said that if the child is not in a good condition, one has to stay at home. As a working mom who can only take the days off at a true emergency, I felt so bad and sorry for my son. Cons - The carpet smells when its raining. Cons - The teacher at 4 years old room (Octopus room) never ties my sons shoe laces. I ALWAYS find it loose and tied it when I get there. This shows how careless the teachers were. Cons - Activities are just okay. Nothing special. At first, I thought the curriculum is well structured, but it is nothing more than just an "activity".

I do not know how to begin this review other than to say first and foremost, I trust the Owner, Directors, and Teachers explicitly, and as a new, first-time parent, that was the most challenging thing to me- finding good, quality care, with people that I trusted with my greatest life gift. My son started in the infant classroom at 11 weeks of age and immediately enjoyed his new routine with his teachers. He became consistent with feedings, nap schedules, and thrived watching the older infants in his classroom. Developmentally, he was always advanced for his age, due in part I believe to Goddards curriculum and the full engagement that he received daily from his teachers. My Husband and I developed a strong relationship with our sons teachers and they became a part of our family. I cannot recommend this location strong enough. They do not see children as dollar signs here - they actually want to teach them, groom them for the world, and care for them. The infant room teachers were always so nurturing with our son. I will be forever grateful to them for everything that they did for our son and our family.

Both of my daughters attended the Goddard School from the time they were infants until my oldest was five and my youngest was three. They loved it. Steve, the owner, is incredibly dedicated. He is constantly reinvesting in the school and working to make it better. Tracy, Ciara and all of the teachers are also wonderful. Leaving my babies at day care was the hardest thing Ive ever done, but the staff was always conscientious and supportive, and over time, picking up the girls became a challenge--although they were happy to see me, they had so much fun at school that they were reluctant to leave! It has been almost a year since we moved the girls to a location where the oldest could attend kindergarten, and the girls still regularly ask to go back and visit their teachers and friends. We have visited a few times, and always receive a warm welcome. I am so grateful for the excellent care my daughters received when they attended the Goddard School and for the friendship and understanding they continue to provide.

The Goddard School was the very first daycare that my son was put into. He was at home with either me or his father for the first two years, so this was a huge (and very scary) change for us. Everyone was so helpful with the transition. They were very understanding that this was a difficult process for all of us- myself, my husband and our son (and some days his teachers ;) ). Mr. Steve, Tracy and Sierra in the office, as well as all of the teachers were warm and kind. We were greeted with smiles every single day and my son was loved and cared for so well everyday. He has grown to love this place and he even asks us every morning when it is time for school! We are so sad to leave, but unfortunately my job has moved and we have to move with it. I cannot convey how thankful we are to all of the staff here and how much we will miss them all! I highly recommend The Goddard School in Greenwood. If I had the option to give them anymore stars I would!

We started at The Goddard School when our oldest child was an infant. That was six years ago, and we now have three children enrolled in the school. They attend Goddard because we believe in the program and most importantly the staff. When we leave our children in the staff’s care, we are confident the children are safe, are cared for, and receive an excellent education. The Goddard curriculum puts the children well ahead of their peers as they enter kindergarten, giving them the confidence they need to excel in school. We had heard this from other parents of Goddard alumni and experienced it first-hand this year as our oldest entered kindergarten in the public school. The Goddard administrators and owner truly care for the children; provide a very clean, organized, and modern facility; and always immediately address all questions and concerns, no matter how small. I highly recommend The Goddard School in Greenwood.
