On March 1, 2012 I requested a quickform to be sent to me to sell 3 plots that were not going to be used. On March 6th I was told, by Shannan Speicher, the form would be sent on March 7th. March 14th I notified Shannan that I had not received the form. On March 22nd Shannan replied the form would be sent today. March 27th notified I still had not received the form. Shannan replied it did not go out until the 24th or 26th. I received the form on March 28th, completed it, got it notarized, and mailed it back to the address on the form on March 29th. On April 2nd I notified Shannan when I received and mailed the form back to her and to notify me when she received the form. By April 9th I had received no reply from Shannan so I asked if she received the form. Shannan said no. I just sent another email to Shannan today, April 13th, to see if the form has been found as I have not heard from her since the 9th. This is ridiculous!! It should not take this long, over a month, to sell back 3 plots for $600. As of today, I still havent received my money!!! After this mess I am glad my parents decided not to be buried at Crown Hill. I cant imagine how long that would have taken!!

The people working in the office were so kind to help me locate a headstone I was looking for. They had photocopied plot maps ready and even went so far as to use their database to identify some of the headstones along the road that could guide my way and marked them on the map for me. They were happy to make small talk and didnt rush me out of the office. The cemetery itself was beautiful and well-kept. None of the headstones I saw were overgrown or had the kind of damage that comes from careless groundskeepers.

This is a great setting for artists and photographers. Its quiet, scenic, vast. Ive done a few watercolor paintings here, both as student and teacher. The deer population is a charming bonus attraction. Visiting a cemetery is sure to change your perspective, too: nothing lasts forever. Please do take a map or use GPS and tag your parking place. It is deceptively easy to get lost. I have gotten lost many times! Mosquito repellant is a good idea, too, if you plan to be out there for awhile.

I had a mostly awesome experience after the death of my beloved mother two months ago. There were a few hiccups but they have for the most part been resolved. The service and presentation were stunning. Our attendant Vanessa Conley was EXCEPTIONALLY fantastic we love her!!! I would recommend Crown Hill to anyone. The package of mementos and bereavement support information sent home with the family is incredibly useful! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

This place is a complete dump!!! Especially on the south side by the children asylum victims. You have gravestones all over the place. You can actually push them around and switch them. The mass grave is completely unmarked & not tended to. If you go get pissed. If you have family there be glad they being cared for, however the Asylum Victims didnt have much in life and are continuing to get screwed in death....Hoosiers...duh

I have dealt with better car salespeople. Their lack of responsiveness has cost them at least 6 funeral services, because I and my family will take our business elsewhere. I spent 3 weeks trying to get an answer to my inquiry, only to get the runaround, finally getting an answer to my inquiry. Very unprofessional and undignified, the complete opposite of what you would expect in this industry.

If youve never taken a guided walking tour of Crown Hill, youre missing out. They offer tours of various themes and conclude with an amazing view of the sunset at the tomb of Hoosier poet James Whitcomb Riley.

Many historic figures are buried here, and there are many really beautiful headstones. While visiting I felt safe, and didnt see any concerns with litter, poor care of the grounds, or any real problems.

As weird as it sounds, the Crown Hill Cemetery is a great spot to catch a view of downtown Indianapolis- the gravesite of James Whitcomb Riley is actually the highest point in pre-unigov Indianapolis.

My favorite cemetery to visit since April,1969 when I was 18. So peaceful, well kept as large as it is. Its the place I would love to be buried IF my wife will let me...cause its my birth hometown.
