If you are a man and you like to go to a barber (not a stylist, or hair dresser) then Ron Bartlett at Cyclone Barber is your man. Talk is not alway politically correct and if frank discussions on ISU Athletics offends you, then you had better go to Great Clips. This is a barber shop with a bottle of whiskey next to the coffee pot. Ron is a very good barber with a long and successful history in Ames. Open at 8:00 am Monday-Thursday. Walk-ins in the morning and appointments after lunch. Stop in for a good haircut and walk out knowing a whole lot more about Ames. Ron is an Ames treasure. UPDATE 5/4/15: Rons new hours are from 8:00 am - 11:00. 12:00 - 2:00 pm M-Th. Walk-in in the mornings, appointments in the afternoon. Appointments fill up FAST!

Great guy and gave me an excellent haircut. Today was my 1st time there and was pleasantly surprised at the job he did. My hair is straight and dark so it shows every uneven spot but I dont see any after this cut. Would highly recommend, its a true barber shop which makes it even better!!
