I went to De Moines for a wedding and didnt have time to get a cut before I left Oregon. I like the fact that they only do walk ins! Ive been living on the west coast for a few years and really appreciate the hustle! The barbers in Oregon could learn a lot by watching these guys work. I really miss the work ethic of the Midwest! The only negative was that the barber wouldnt give me a lineup. The front of my hair grows weird and my regular barbers started giving me lineups about 5 years ago. That being said, the barber was really cool. My wifes family was freaking out all week about the wedding and I really needed a good laugh. Both barbers were hilarious! Nothing better than being funny without trying. If I lived in De Monies, IA - I would become a regular.

The first time I went here was the best experience Ive ever had getting a haircut. They are great guys, give quality cuts, and it is all around a fun place. My reason for the three star. The next two times I had gone, I waited for over an hour and a half and I still had 5 people in front of me. I work 7-6 every day, one night I was able to get off and be there by 6:20, 40 minutes before close. However they were already closed, so I looked in the door where they clearly saw me but did nothing about it. If you have the time to wait almost 2 hours for a haircut I recommend this place, but if you are hoping to get in within an hour, dont even try it.

These guys do good work and have a very chill environment. Ive gotten a few great haircuts here but I only go here if I have a couple hours to kill. This is a very busy place and each time Ive been here its been at least 2 hours before I walk out the door. To me its just a haircut and its not worth the wait but if youre really paticular or stylish with your hair or facial hair and quality is worth the wait than this is a good place to go.

Great cuts, funky place. This is THE place to go for a classic barber cut. You can get a hip haircut, while still avoiding hipsters. They dont take reservations, but the the conversations and the wait are part of the experience. Now in a new larger location on Beaver Avenue, the decor reminds me of my grandmas basement if she had cheesy 80s movie posters on the walls.

Terrible experience. I waited TWO hours, then got skipped on line. I called the guy out, but didnt want to make a scene. Then one of the barbers announced that HE would be next after the smug dude who skipped me. Thats right: the businesss response to me being skipped was to also skip me. Might just be how things work there, but Im certainly never going back.

This place is great! Friendly barbers who know what theyre doing. Make sure to check out the bathroom while youre there. Sounds weird, I know, but Tom Jones and a disco ball? Cant miss with that combo. Only downside is there arent reservations available, so you might end up waiting, but theres plenty to look at while you wait.

First time I went in, great service but very very long wait. I had to wait for almost two hours. Every time since Ive been turned away because they are too busy. Great shop, but doesnt matter if I cant get in for a cut. The long wait and inability to get in for a cut is the reason for 3 stars, otherwise would be 5.

This is a great traditional barber shop. Both barbers are very talented and give a great old-school fade. They also offer hot shaves, beard trims, etc. They also have a BBQ thing on the last Sunday of every month. Food, beer, and a cut. Pretty sweet. Very cool guys and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Excellent barbershop in Des Moines that does traditional hair cuts and straight razor shaves! Very cool atmosphere with odd movies playing in the background. Usually a half-hour wait or more, but its worth the wait. Highly recommend them for anyone looking for a quality old fashioned haircut!

Good haircut but know that the price also includes two hours of waiting to get in the chair. Nothing bad to say about the staff or establishment, but the wait is brutal sometimes. On the other hand, maybe that means theyre doing something right.

Awesome cut!!! The guys are great, very friendly, down right cool, and fun. Great barber shop experience. We have found the ONLY place for a real mans haircut, neck shave and facial shave. PERFECT!!!!!

The same Franklin Barber Shop, now at a new location. More TVs, barber chairs and unique furniture. The building might be nicer, but the prices are still reasonable and the haircuts are still great.
