10 out of 10 I would recommend Elite Edge to anyone that is serious about wanting to lose weight and change their lifestyle. That is what Elite is. Its not just a gym to lose weight, they teach you how to change your eating habits and how to workout. When I started Elite I started 2 weeks before the 6wk challenge and I wasnt sure if I was going to be able to workout. I had 2 knee surgeries (ACL and meniscus) and I hadnt worked out in over 2 years because of these surgeries. Getting to the ground and back up was difficult for me. I wanted to see if these workouts were something my knee would be able to handle. The coaches, Ryan, Eddie, and Brady are the BEST. Eddie and Brady knew about my knee issues and when they saw me struggling they would come and modify the workouts with me to strengthen my knee instead. In the 2 weeks before the challenge I lost 10lbs. After those 2 weeks and the 10lb weight loss, I wanted to see what I could do with a diet plan during the 6 week challenge so I signed up. I started out at 278.3lbs for the 6 week challenge. Now Im not going to sugar coat this challenge. It is HARD, it is CHALLENGING, the food plan is NOT fun. But if you STICK to it and Follow the Damn Instructions, you will find yourself in such a better place! Also, there are GREAT resources available as soon as you start the 6 week challenge for food prepping and recipe ideas. Look at those, learn those and have FUN in the kitchen or you will get tired of the food plan real quick. It is dedication to yourself and the plan to get the results you want. It is now the end of the 6 week challenge and I am weighting out today at 256.8lbs. I lost 19.5lbs during the 6 week challenge. HOWEVER lets not forget about those 2 weeks BEFORE the challenge. In TOTAL, Ive lost 30.2lbs!!! 30.2 lbs in 8 weeks!!!!! I still cant wrap my head around this. But lets go into NONE scale victories too here folks - i have more energy, my knees are stronger, my clothes are fitting better, people are complementing me on how I look better, and I actually look forward to working out now! There are some things about the challenge that you sign off on that I wasnt a huge fan of such as the social media aspects of having to change your profile picture and checking in 30 times. On the flip side though, every time I got on FB, my profile picture would remind me to stay focused on the challenge and the check ins keep me accountable to actually GO to the gym. It also had quite a few of my friends asking me about the program too and they are interested as well. All in all, I DO recommend this to ANYONE trying to lose weight. You will amaze yourself at the things you can accomplish with Elite. - Kasi Davis

I had a very inauspicious start with my fitness journey at Elite Edge. After only one week in I seriously aggravated a previous injury. I have a self induced abdomen injury called rectus diastasis. basically it is when the connective tissue between your ab muscles tears leaving room for your intestines to bulge out while doing any kind of crunch style abdominal exercise. I had a split that was as wide as my fist and ran from my belly button to my sternum. This type of injury is typically reserved for pregnant women and a select few super tubby men. I am one of the lucky ones, (super tubby that is). It became very painful to engage my core and since most exercise requires that your core be engaged this left me with a dilemma. Its hard to work out at a the gym when every time you sit up it feels like you are being stabbed in the gut. I spoke with Ryan and we agreed that the best course of action was to pause my membership until the start of the next 6 week challenge. This allowed me time not heal up completely of course, but instead to let the pain dissipate and time for me to find a good work around. I needed to find a brace that would keep my guts in and allow me to still hit the gym with required intensity. Ryan was very willing to work with me on this. After 6 weeks I rejoined the program, with a lot more Velcro than I ever could have imagined holding me together. By the end of the six weeks, I was able to participate in all movements, excluding sit-ups, working up to a very high level of weight and flexibility. The trainers, Eddy Mac and Brady were great in helping me find alternative movements in the beginning to help me regain my strength. I would highly recommend this Gym. The staff is knowledgeable and extremely supportive. I look forward to the daily work outs and am bummed when I need to miss. The clients are from a very wide range of fitness and experience. Never did I feel out of place or comfortable. Although I think the trainers to get a kick out of confusing the hell out of us with overly fancy names meant to describe the repetitious lifting of something heavy. That said, they do a great job explaining the movements and are always walking around making sure everyone has correct technique.

My name is Cody Terrell, I am a combat veteran who served in Afghanistan, I recently completed the Elite Edge 20lb challenge and would like to give you all an honest assessment of the Elite Edge Transformation Center in West Des Moines and those coaches at the gym who assisted me through my own transformation. After spending 10 years in the Army I got out and put on an extra 40lbs, this weight came on quick as I continued with the same eating habits and had done little of the physical training that I used to do every morning while on active duty. I saw and add on Facebook promoting Elite Edge and I decided to leave a comment, to my surprise in a couple of days one of the coaches reached out and sent me a message inviting me to the gym to speak to one of them. When I got there, I could tell that these guys knew what they were doing, there was a class going on and the windows of the gym were sweating! I was very impressed with their gym and the coach who I spoke to knew exactly what to say to get me motivated on dropping those extra pounds that I had put on. I signed up right away for the next 6 week class. These guys are no bullsh*t and will tell you right away exactly what you need to do to cut the weight, it is up you to follow the damn instructions (FTDI) something that you will learn right away. I started the program at 198lbs and finished it at 176lbs. 22lbs fell off me in just 6 weeks! My success came because I followed the damn instructions, I came every morning and worked for it, there is no magic pills or supplements that are going to do this for you. Those pills and supplements are simply a catalyst, they will only help you if YOU put in the work. The coaches at Elite Edge will motivate you every day but it is up to you to come back each and every day, to push through the pain and soreness after each workout and to want to succeed. This gym and these coaches changed my life and I would highly recommend you let them change yours so find your reason to let these guys change your life and come in to talk to one of these professionals today. I promise you it will be rewarding and the only way you will ever regret it is if you quit on yourself.
