I do not recommend White Oak Plantation. Dont get me wrong, the location & site are absolutely beautiful, but the service is poor & inconvenient, & the facilty & food are way over priced. A wedding coordinator is supposedly included with the fees, but she actually doesnt do much. You can drop off centerpieces, arrangements, guest book, etc. the day before the wedding, but it is not your cooridnators job to put any of that stuff out. You have to arrange for someone to do all of that for you, but White Oak doesnt unlock its doors until 1 1/2 before the reception - due the math, not enough time. I was supposed to have my reception at White Oak, but Hurricane Gustav ruined that. White Oak lost power, and didnt have back up generators. They did not want to give my family a refund - instead, they insisted I reschedule. Also the food that I had chosen was never shipped to White Oak, so they offered to cook whatever they had in their freezers - What? Food that had been thawing for 3 days? No thanks. White Oak is strictly business-oriented, not family-oriented & not concerned about a brides needs.

With plenty of optimal space for both a wedding ceremony and reception, you only need this one location for your big day. The staff is always on point and never misses a beat. If you havent heard, White Oak has some of the best food around as it is owned and operated by legendary Louisiana chef John Folse. My media company has worked with White Oak Plantation for years now and I think it is fair to say that they have solidified themselves as a wonderful wedding venue. They are a dream to work with and always make sure everything goes smoothly. If you are looking for a great place for your wedding day, look no further.

LaTrice, I just had my wedding at White Oak on 11/14/09.. I too was worried after I read some of the reviews on this site. But take my word for it YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT! It was absolutely amazing!!!! It was everything I asked for and more!! The food was excellent and everyone had a wonderful time. I don’t know if you can request a wedding coordinator, but if you can.. you should request Janine Thibodaux. She was the coordinator for my wedding and she handled everything PERFECTLY! I didn’t have to worry about one thing during my wedding because she took care of it all!! I highly recommend White Oak!!

Best wedding venue in Baton Rouge! Just got married and held my reception there 3 weeks ago! They were a pleasure to work with before the wedding and the day of! Madison, my day of coordinator provided by White Oak, did a great job the day of rehearsal and day of wedding. Everything went smoothly and I had nothing to worry about on my wedding day. The food was amazing and the new covered patio was great! Seriously love this place!! Would recommend White Oak Plantation to anyone thinking of getting married in Baton Rouge!

I just read the reviews on here and got totally terrified about my future wedding at White Oak in 2011, so I called and spoke with Karen. She explained to me that there was nothing for me to worry about and that they will do their best to make sure that everything goes as smoothly as possible, which really put me at easy about my decision. White Oak has an enchanting site and I am sure they will be more than worth the money I will spend to have my wedding there. Thanks Karen!!

Such a wonderful place with AWESOME staff and wonderful mgt.! Everyone goes above and beyond to make your experience he BEST! The location is beautiful and the food is out of this world! My little sister works here and loves it --- she says all of her co workers are the best! DONT HESITATE to give this place a call--- you will love it!

Beautiful grounds and gardens on Old South setting complete with John Folse cuchon de lais. Beautifully appointed presentation of delicious food at wedding reception buffet. Indoor seating was limited and shaded tables outside were uncomfortably hot, as I said, authentic Old South!

We were married here recently. Everything went so smoothly. The coordinator Jordan made sure that everything was perfect! The food was incredible and all the staff were really on top of their game. The service and the food exceeded our expectations!
