Overpriced and underserving. My hair is just below my jawline and they charged me $60 for a shampoo, deep condition, and blowout with all my own product, which is what they charged me when my hair was 8 inches longer. The shampooer also snuck in whatever product she wanted (thinking i didnt notice) after i asked to use only my prduct. She also didnt apply my deep condition properly as i departed with the same amount i arrived with. The rinse was poor as she only circled my head not giving the thickest section of my hair the least amount of attention. She succeeded in tangling my hair during the shampoo and during the minimal detangling insisted on starting at the root versus the end. When blowing out my hair the stylist must have felt it wasnt tangled enough so she rubbed it circles with a towel before attempting to dry it without detangling and sectioning. She dropped a brush on the floor, which i noticed. She put it aside for moment until she thought i was distracted when she started using it again. When i called her on it she insisted it was ok because it didnt fall bristles down but offered to get a new one. I agreed and she disappeared for a few minutes but when she returned she resumed using the same brush, again thinking i didnt notice. As she blew it out my hair smoked profusely (the shampoo and conditioner left from the last step). The flat iron did not do my cut justice with no texture or styling. When she finished she walked away without saying anything and I walked out without comment from any staff. Customer service doesnt exist. The cleanliness is seriously lacking. I only go out of desperation and dont rhink i will ever be that desperate again. (Y Yo hablo Español tambien, mujeres)

Sitting under the dryer and Im already compelled to give this salon a review. Thank goodness for my ability to speak and understand Spanish because these people are crooks. Its one thing to charge $45 for texurized (semi relaxed) hair when there is an ad on your website for $35 wash and set specials on Tuesday then state the website is broken and no longer valid, its another thing to honor the website for 2 people who came in after me because theyre regulars. I only knew this because the secretary (who was also getting her hair done) told the person next to me in Spanish. Then to tell me they honored the special because theyre regulars?? Thats completely unethical and a horrible business practice. How do they know I wouldnt have become a regular? Thats how you INCREASE your profits through return customers, by honoring ads and creating a good first impression. As a Dominican woman from New York City whos practically grown up in salons, these Dominican salons in the DMV inflate their prices, in New York for the same services (natural hair wash and set) salons charge $25-30. These stylists (who are most of the time arent even licensed) are taking full advantage of people. Also there wasnt any greeting because most of the employees were too busy getting their hair done. So in essence, $45 not including flat ironing or a deep condition, with no greeting or acknowledgment. Id give 0 stars if I could.

Wow! You dont have one person doing your hair. Each station seemed to have one person; one for wash, one for relaxers, one for styling, one for rolling. If you have 4 hours to spare then feel free to stop by. My end result was highly undesired and I was SO glad to get out! They dont use flat irons. Everything is blow dryers and dryers. They roll your hair as well. I am used to going to a single lady who uses LOW heat and gives the BEST result. Everyone here, their hair is all taken care of the exact same way. Nothing was special about my hair treatment. You pay before hand. The customer service was avg. Nothing stood out and no one went to the extra length to converse with you or ask what all you wanted. I have been to worse but this is probably number 2 on my too bad hair salon lists. They did do a good job on other peoples hair but like I said my hair for the same treatment as the previous person but my hair was NOT the same. Gets turned out wonderdul whereas mine was a clusterfuck of a mess. Not going their again. I might recommend it to people with thick long ALREADY HEALTHY hair. But I personally Will not go back. I got a relaxer $90 And deep conditioner $10

So they did a great job in th beginning , I loved the look and all , but something about it just wasnt right , they finished so fast for once , two my straightened hair only last for 15 max no joke . I dont know why exactly this is but my hair ig u could say didnt feel straight enough, when I go home my hair just returned into blow dry form it turn puffy and it just wasnt straight anymore .. kid u not , I was very disappointed, I dont know if it had like something to do with the fact that my hair is extremely thick and the only thing that was done to it was a wash, blow dry and straightening , keep in mind that it had been the first time I got my hair straightened (May 2015) but Ill have to go back and talk to them because I do feel like it could of been better it was just extremely rushed . This time before doing it Ill make sure we go though the history of my hair , other than that issue , the staff were very nice ! And the place was very calm , Id recommend it as well

My experience at Sashelvis at Bowie is MUCH different.. I love the service ....there is a language barrier but, you will get your point across or ask for an english speaking person. I have gotten MANY perms there... and has never had a problem. I have the most SENSITVE scalp a person can have...and the heat (yes its hot) but, I am not walking about tramatized. My hair was extremely damaged, but, thanks to the OWNER of the salon my hair is growing at rapid speed... If you want to get a consultation the owner of the salon will be MORE than pleased to walk you thru the process of what you need done to your hair. I stopped going to (Black Hair salons) because no one EVER told me about hair care... 10 years later I am very happy with Sashelvis and btw I have been waiting on MANY black hair stylist to show up ... only a 30-40mins late... and then they have to eat, drink ...talk and then get you hair washed.

I cannot say enough good things about Sashelvis. I started going to the salon because I experienced severe hair loss and hair damage. I had to wear weaves and braids for close to two years to promote hair growth and even then, it was slow. In the past year and 1/2 that I have been going to Sashelvis and been serviced by Carmen (the owner) my hair has grown out long and healthy. While I am not saying that they cannot or do not do current styles, my purpose was for hair health and I was able to achieve that with their help. Carmen knows her craft and will clearly outline what you need to do in order to have long healthy hair. I have recommended Sashelvis to all of my friends and they have gone as well. I am a loyal client and wanted to share my great experiences.
