AMAZING!!! I had the best experience here with my girlfriend. We had haircuts and messages. I cant say enough!! To me, for a business to have the "spa" title they must be set up to pamper you. Not just a row of haircut stalls and a room in the back for messages. Varuna has it all...space, class, private steam showers, huge message rooms, pedicure/manicure room, caring and professional staff, prices that make sense and all the little details that make a spa a spa. I have been to other "spas" in the Maryland and Virginia, but none can compare. The closest thing like it i have been to was at the Bellagio in Vegas. My girlfriend started with her haircut while my sensory adventure began with an aroma therapy shower and steam. Every little detail I enjoyed... The plush robe, the slippers, the soothing music, right down to the eco friendly tiles. :) After I was done in there they escorted me to a cool down/meditation room where i relaxed to some soothing tunes and lemon ice water. After i had a little rest my girlfriend was escorted in, beaming after her new haircut. We were never rushed and really got to move at our own pace. We then headed into the message room... we did a couples message so we got to enjoy it together. The masseuse began by helping us pick the scents we liked best and then went to work. I have never been more relaxed in my life. When they were done we both felt like we were floating. We spent a little more time in the meditation room to kind of come back to reality....I cant wait to go back for Valentines day!! By far the only REAL spa in the area that doesnt cost a fortune! ~Thanks so much!

Worst haircut Ive had in years. Im new Annapolis and needed a simple trim for my long hair. I chose Varuna after reading the good reviews that they have received online. I am also a fan of Aveda concept salons. I asked my stylist (Hannah) for a simple trim to take care of my dead ends; I didnt want much taken off as I am trying to grow my out. We agreed that she would take a half-inch minimum from my tresses. I dont know what happened, but she ended up cutting an inch to an inch and a half off the length of my hair and even more than that in my layers. Speaking of my layers, they are choppy, uneven, and dont blend with the longer strands. It looks like she took her scissors, grabbed random handfuls of hair, and chopped away at them with her eyes closed. Ive been trying to grow my hair out for years and this unfortunate incident will take at least another year to grow out. I am incredibly upset and dissatisfied.

I must agree with Elizabeth, I am a big fan of Varuna. I go to Ashley as well and am always incredibly happy and relaxed when I leave. The super friendly people that work there are always more than gracious and extremely hospitable. I like to change my color and cut often and Ashley is always concise and knowledgeable. Out of my happiness with Ashley and the rest of the staff at Varuna I have since sent many friends, and they all couldnt be more pleased. Not only does my hair look the best its ever looked , the products and the color are so gentle which is great for all hair types. If you have not been to Varuna, do yourself a favor and check it out. Spring is around the corner and what a good time for a fresh new look!

I love Varuna. It is by far the best salon I have ever been to. Everyone there is professional and knowledgeable. The salon is very very clean and everyone treats you like they have known you for a long time. If you want to feel pampered, this is the place to go. I have very thick long blonde hair and the color is always perfect and my cut is always just like I want. Very hard to find that these days. I now feel I have a place to come to and know I am going to get what I want without worrying if my hair is going to turn out right. Massages there are like heaven also. I have had pedicures there too. I feel great every time I walk out of that place. Client for life.

I had a PEDICURE wit MEAGAN and a HAIRCUT wit TRACY on my birthday. they both did an amazing JOB!!!!! On my hair Tracy gave me some ideas and made sure that I will like my new haircut and look, And it turned out really pretty esp im kinda picky of how stylists cut my hair. I did a couple compliments during my surprised bday dinner wit friends (planned by my loving husband). STAFFS were so friendly too and I found a new Friend inside at the salon she is one of the customer their too, Overall they gave me a good service. Thanks to GOOGLE in finding this Salon for me on my bday :) and I will defienitely come back for a hi-lites and a Massage.. looking fwd to it.

I cant even begin to describe how amazing my experience was at Varuna this past weekend! I started out with a couples massage on my wedding day with my fiancé that was incredible! Then I moved on to a manicure and pedicure, followed by a hair appointment and then a make-up appointment. Every single girl there was as amazing and friendly as the next, I was so amazed at their talent and so appreciative when I left! Future brides- Varuna Salon is AMAZING!!! thank you everyone who helped to make my day spectacular. I feel so bad for not remembering everyones names...Tom, Heather, Amanda, and everyone one else (I am so sorry!) , you are incredible!!

Cant speak for the Spa experience, never got there. Charged my credit card $70 on Jan 8th for a surprise for my mothers 70th birthday. On Feb 28th she showed up only to be turned away. I finally spoke to the Owner Ricardo. He couldnt care less. He arrogantly asked me to prove that I had actually paid. I did via email. It is now 30 days later and he still hasnt refunded my money after following up several times, apologized for embarrassing my mother or to me. This guy is a piece of work. The Spa looks nice but the guy running it is a first rate buffoon.

As someone who I constantly moving, Im always trying to find a new hair dresser and someone that "gets me". I read the reviews for this salon and was very hopeful. I absolutely love Aveda salons and the products that they carry and the talent profiles seemed very promising. I was initially disappointed with my cut and color, but the salon worked with me to get to where I wanted to be. After I was scheduled with a new stylist (master stylist) Ronnie, she was AMAZING! She was able to translate exactly what I wanted and gave me a fantastic haircut to!

Varuna (aveda) is the best salon spa I have ever experienced. The young receptionists were friendly and veryhelpful; the atmosphere was calming and chic. You could just feel the good energy in the air. I have heard many good reviews and figured why not try them. I am so glad that I did. I had a facial and waxing with Vonda. She is AMAZING, I even fell into a deep sleep, myskin felt wonderful, I felt refreshed and reenergized. Thanks Varuna and Vonda, see you 2 weeks!
