Im incredibly surprised the reviews here are as good as they are. My experience here was subpar. The cut was $35, which is reasonable given its location nearby Newbury St, but the attitude and the lack of skill with which they did their job was amusingly appalling. Lets start from the beginning. There were no other customers when I went, and the older guy sitting at the desk had clearly seen me come in but refused to acknowledge my existence for a full five minutes. Then a small argument over who would cut my hair ensued between the desk guy and someone who is presumably his son. The son showed me to the chair, and gave me one of the worst haircuts Ive had, taking 40 minutes. Mind you, this was not a complex cut, all I wanted was a simple neat cut, but the reason why it took so long is because the barber was more invested in watching the television than my hair. Resulted in a small cut behind my ear from misguided scissors. I will not be going back unless they pay me $35 to get a haircut from them; even then it would be a hard decision.

After living for a while in Back Bay and having only overpriced salons in the area , so I tried out many barbers in Boston- Anfa blows them all out of the water. I spotted the place after doing some food shopping and figured I should try it out- I was VERY pleased. 1. I got a great haircut. 2. I got an old school professional shave (straight edged razor, hot lather and all). 3. The whole cut was really inexpensive. 4. The barber is nice and very experienced. 5. On a side note the place was quite clean and had little personal TVs.

I have been a regular at Anfa for over a year now. I get a haircut almost once every month and have never been disappointed. Here are my basic observations: The Place: clean, casual, and excellent location; The Service: If there is anything that brings me back to this place everytime, it is service (and offcourse the price). Abdul is a great peoples person. I enjoy my conversations and my haircut; The Price: $17 for a fantastic haircut, on Newbury Street, in the heart of Boston...are you kidding me?!

This place is great. Ive been there three times, and had my hair cut by both Abdul and Zach. All three cuts were fantastic. I usually go a couple months in between haircuts, and the cuts I got here grew out very evenly and held up well. The shop is very clean, with nice decor. The staff is friendly. Its $35 per haircut, which in my opinion is very reasonable for what you get for your money. If youre like me, and have a tough time finding a barber you trust, go here; you wont regret it.

Ive had my hair cut in many places...and a lot of the time, the hair cut just didnt come out right in the end. A nice conversation with someone who cuts your hair is one thing, but a nice conversation AND a really good hair cut that works for you...that makes people look at you differently and in a great way is another. This is the place to go - price/quality ratio beats any other Ive come across. Ive gone there for over a year now too. Abdou is the man!

Best barber shop in Boston, hands down. The Anfa experience is great and the haircut is top-notch. Abdul takes pride in his business and genuinely cares about his customers and the service he provides. I recently started going to Anfa and am now one of the many regulars. If youre looking for a quality haircut and enjoyable experience for a great price, dont hesitate to go to Anfa -- you wont regret it.

I first found this guy when he was working at University barber by BU. After going to him for a little while, he told me he was leaving that shop to open his own business right off of Newbury St, so I followed him there. Its nearly impossible to find someone who will cut hair like this guy does, Ive been to too many barber shops in the city to let this guy get away. Great cut at a great price.

I think that this barbershop is the best place in back bay, and probably all of Boston. The price is right, the cut is always on point, and Abdu and his coworkers are really great guys who give off that friendly barbershop feel. Ive been getting haircuts from this place since 2011, and before that Barbershop Lounge was my spot. Anfa is way better.

Professional barbers, quality service, friendly, gracious and talented team - Abdou, Bedal and Mike are all great. Clean and nice facilities, easy to use online booking site, and very good value for the location (Back Bay). I visit every three weeks and wouldnt consider elsewhere. Best in Boston.

The haircut was good, the price was not. A basic haircut will set you back $35 which is a lot!! If youre willing to spend that much then by all means you should be fine with the place although there is one talkative barber and one very silent one as a heads up.

I have been going here for almost 3 years now and never once walked out disappointed. Prices are reasonable and service is always great. Never a long wait for a haircut. If your looking for that "barbershop" feel and a great cut, head on down here.

DONT TRUST THE REVIEWS! worst barber in boston! I showed the guy a picture of the hairstyle I wanted, and he lectured me about 15 minutes that what I showed him is not a haircut! then he cut my hair in 3 minutes and now I look like a monk!

I went because of the reviews, and its exactly as good as everybody has already said. The conversation with Abdul is part of what makes it great, the haircut and shave is exactly what I wanted, and the price in that location cant be beat.

Tasteful decor, nice staff and a good haircut. Have tried a few places in the Back Bay area with mixed results. This was definitely one of the better experiences. Simple, straight forward haircut. Would go again and suggest to friends.

Ive been going here for the past three years and never had a bad experience - always a great haircut. Everyone is friendly and professional and the price is very reasonable. I wouldnt trust anyone else in Boston to cut my hair.

This place is surprisingly low cost for its location and quality. The barbers are very friendly. Try not to go in a hurry since youll spend some extra time just chatting away. The haircut and shave were both quite good.

Searched on google for a inexpensive barber in the area and this was the cheapest I could find by far. The haircut was quality too! Dont waste your money at the other local places. This place is as good, if not better!

Stopped in walking around Boston in between meetings. One of the best cuts Ive had in a while. If youre looking for a great barber these guys are a cut above the rest. Will definitely go back when Im in town.
