I had a terrible experience here! I had at 1pm appointment for a shellac manicure. When I got there they had me wait a while and finally someone said that there is only one machine and 2 girls in front of me, and they asked if I could come back. I had to pick up a friend at 1:50 at the train so I could not come back. They said someone would start my "manicure" in 10 minutes. At 1:30 they took me. The girl who did my nails just took off my nail polish and pushed back my cuticles..not what I would call a manicure. Then for the shellac, she did one coat and dried them. She did not paint to the edges of my nails and there were several bubbles in the polish that were raised. At this point it was 2pm..the girl had to fix my thumb nail and I told her how late I was so she barely fixed it. In the end my nails looked terrible...something a friend of mine could have done. Shellac is not supposed to peal or crack for 2 weeks. I got in the car and they all were pealing off. They werent completely dry and at that point I didnt even want to keep the polish on my nails because of how poorly they looked. I was 40 min late to pick my friend up, and left with very poorly done nails that didnt even stay on!

My daughter has attended this school for almost two months now... It has been the worst experience. The students are disrespectful and just plain mean. The teachers... although they are nice, sit there and watch while students are bullied because they "cant do anything about it", and the director is "not even going to deal with it". A direct quote I overheard her say to another administrator while I waited to speak to her about my daughter staying extra hours to make up tests she had already taken but never got recorded because they were thrown away by above mentioned students. Completely unprofessional. Its very disappointing, we were really excited about the school when we found it.

My experiences at Empire Beauty School have been excellent. The students are very well s strained in all aspects of hair care and cosmetology before they are assigned to work on you. They are confident and very professional. If a question arises such as a color application.the teaching staff is very available. My daughter has log, curly thick hair that is difficult to work with. The student that was assigned to her was quite patient and asked her if she was satisfied as she was working on her hair. I highly recommend Empire Beauty School and the people I have sent there have been more than satisfied.
