Planning a destination wedding in Newport, RI in 6 months while living hundreds of miles away, working full time, moving once cross-country, finding a new job, starting a new job, etc, etc, is no easy task, even with a wedding planner! With everything going on in my life, plus the short timeframe (the wedding date we selected was 6 months out from the day we secured the venue), and the fact that I am a perfectionist, I knew I was going to need help. I was lucky enough to come across SYB Event Planning while on Thumbtack. I interviewed a few companies and ended up selecting SYB because Soraya, the owner, and I really clicked while talking on the phone. While I wasnt necessarily looking for a cultural wedding, I knew she would understand some of the nuances with our families because my husband and I come from different cultural backgrounds. Soraya specializes in taking the time to understand different cultures and she goes out of her way to embed as much or as little as you want of you or your partners culture into your wedding. Im so glad I had Soraya for the entire wedding planning process and for the day of the wedding. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful and totally exceeded my expectations (this is a perfectionist speaking...just for some perspective). I dont think that could have been possible without having Soraya helping along the way. She challenged me to think about things I would have never thought of and took care of all the details. She went above and beyond to make sure the wedding was as successful as it could be. She even drove over 90 miles each way to get us a cute favor that we really wanted for our guests...without hesitating! I didnt even ask her, but when she heard me talking about what I would like to do if the place was closer, she just jumped in and said she would take care of it. Im so thankful for everything Soraya did to make our special day a success and would highly recommend her to anyone trying to plan a wedding.

Soraya is incredible! She catered and did the day of planning for my 150 person New Hampshire wedding. Her team is so professional and fun and truly made our day special. She helped us pick amazing food that all of our guests raved about. Beyond the catering, she found us a perfect DJ pair who had everyone (of all ages) dancing all night! Soraya took care of all of the "day of" tasks so I could dance, visit, drink, and have fun! She ran everything perfectly. She truly thinks of everything! When someone is passionate about what they do, it shows. Soraya truly cares about you, your event, making sure everything is perfect, and keeping everyone happy. I cant thank her enough, and I highly recommend her services!

Soraya added elegant and creative touches that really made a difference, she pulled our vision together beautifully. It was truly a red carpet affair! Soraya helped me to plan a birthday party for my boyfriend who wanted a mixture of Middle Eastern and western cuisine. Simply put, Soraya was wonderful. She is creative, friendly and professional. Soraya helped me to refine the menu and everyone couldnt say enough about the delicious food. From beef tenderloin on croissants to kafta to a sumptuous array of grilled veggies with a balsamic drizzle, everything was just amazing. The staff who worked with her were also friendly and personable, willing to go the extra mile to make sure the event was just perfect. I will use SYB Event Planning Services again the next time Im planning a catered event.

Soroya and her team are fantastic! They recently catered a fundraising sailing regatta for me and were wonderful from start to finish: planning, sourcing, staffing, and follow through. It was 95 degrees and no wind but her team always had a smile on their faces and worked so hard for the entire day. The food was delicious, and plentiful, and all of our guests were happy. I cannot recommend them more fully. Truly great experience!
