Ive had this horrible feeling growing about Planet fitness as a business franchise...that it was perhaps more retail based (capitalizing off peoples struggles with motivation or struggles with staying motivated, rather), than it was being run by people who actually care about the actual heath and welfare (or at all what-so-ever), of thier clients. I hold not one but two accounts at my local Planet fitness (one for myself and one for my stepson which he only used once). I have every intention of cancling at this point after being a member on and off for a decade-literally which is of course, unfortunate and rather disappointing. The straw that broke the camels back actuallty, was my being blown off not once but twice in a row by same (most likely hung over) trainer. I had never had a trainer before so I was pretty excited and of course made the mistake of getting my hopes up. The worst of it was that the second time I had to take an important phonecall after he told me how he was "definitely going home again, sick", his words-verbatim and being an actual caring and kind, compassionate human being at his advisement-I crossed my name off his appointment list think I was cutting him a break. I came back in from my urgent call to see him training the other client and mind you he was a no call/no show last appointment, just the day prior. Now, I dont know how they do things in California, (where he claims hes from), but here in MA-we hold ourselves to hire standards, and make zero excuses! We here in MA are responsible for either keeping our appointments or following up with our clients, in the event that it is not possible to keep the appointment and especially when we have our clients make time out of thier busy scheduals to sign up and show up on-time, if not early. It is a lack of respect and simply unacceptable.Very, very incredibly unfortunate. I am simply just greatful I have found a more dedicated to the cause place to "workout" and also have my spiritual needs met as well at Open Doors Yoga studio in weymouth landing. Id rather use my very limited income wisely, thank you very much. No shade on the straight talking manager either. She had my total respect.

Horrible customer service! My husband has been trying to downgrade his membership for 6 months. The first time he went in they told him he has to wait a whole year to downgrade. The second time he asked he was told he could not downgrade because they were doing a promotion and you cant downgrade diring this time. After he already waited for the year to pass. Now today he went in to downgrade again for the third time and he was told he had to pay $30 to downgrade. No one has told him that before. So he asked how much to cancel my membership? They said its free. So he cancelled his membership and we are switching gyms. Obviously planet fitness does not care about keeping there customers and no one is on the same page. Very poor customer service!

dissatified with their customer service in Weymouth. Have to go way out of your way to cancel a membership. i have been a pf member for years... every move I have been through I have canceled the membership(to become a member closer to where I am located). This time it seemed to be more of a hassle and charged me the membership fee for the month- which I didnt realized until I signed- mind you I thought I was signing to release my membership as the girl had said. Very sneaky and I will not be going back to pf... unfortunately they have lost a life long member. I take it they dont care though as I am only a number to them. Good luck planet fitness you have earned another unhappy customer.

Very disappointed in the new equipment change. I guess they took the whole "Intimidation free zone" to a whole other level. With no benches or squat racks you dont get the full affect of benching, squatting or deadlifting. The new machines they use are not good for muscle development , especially the smith machine. Just by looking at it from the side you can see the angle its at and something about seems really sketchy. To me, planet fitness has become a gym exclusively for old people or beginners just getting into fitness. The only reason why I continue to go is because I cant afford any where else right now.

I was a member of this gym for several years. i have recently cancelled my membership.. i feel as if the last 5-6 months this place has gone downhill. You can not ask any questions without them scoffing at you or giving an attitude it became very discouraging. I may not pay much for my membership but i have gone to L.A. Fitness as a visitor with my friend and was impressed on how knowledgeable and helpful the staff was. For a measly $15 extra i know where i will be spending my money.

I originally joined this PF 6 years ago when I moved to the Boston area and stayed for a couple years- recruiting my husband in the process. Naturally, I wanted to see what else was out there for gyms in the Boston area- hopping around from the Y- to Golds- and then to Atlantis. We missed PF so much that were currently holding two memberships- one to Atlantis, and one to this Planet Fitness. Its a great place to work out! High energy, clean, friendly, and inviting!

Have been trying to cancel my membership for 3 months. When I first called in March, I was told the membership had been cancelled several months earlier in 2015. I have continued to be billed. I called again today to cancel AGAIN and was informed that I had to bring in a CERTIFIED letter. I live in Boston, by the way, and my gym is in Weymouth. I spoke t o someone named Gabrielle. This situation is ridiculous.

This is one of the better PF locations for black card members I have seen so far. Features include:massage tables, 2 stair step machines, huge workout area with many free weight benches separated from cardio room. Very convenient off rt.3.

Its definitely not the nicest or newest PF around but it gets the job done. Never too crowded and I tend to see more old folks and average people just trying to stay fit than lunks and bros so the atmosphere tends to be very inviting.

Well equipped gym. Sometimes the parking lot can get really full but as with all gyms, it depends on what time you go. Crossing the street from the parking lot across the street can be challenging.

I know I know it is a planet fitness- but where did all the squat racks go?!?! for $20/month this place was 6 stars before the change- unfortunately now it is just an above average planet fitness

Staff is very friendly and the gym is much bigger than it looks. The place is clean and well maintained as well. The equipment and style are a little old school.

Place is big and clean but customer service is terrible especially the manager being rude and disrespectful. Join another gym elsewhere.

Cant beat the price. The facilities are basic but everything works and I dont have any problems with machine availability
