The Barber Pole provided straight razor shaves for my husband and our groomsmen the morning of our wedding. They were able to fit in (with an appointment) 7 shaves with 2 barbers between 8am and 11am. My husband and the groomsmen couldnt stop talking about how great a experience it was. None of them had gotten a straight razor shave before, so they were really fascinated with the process. While waiting, they even had fun things to do like play chess. Best yet, they all agreed that the barbers are really cool guys and are very skilled. My husband was so thrilled to get pampered in a manly way before our wedding, so Im glad that The Barber Pole made that possible!

Went there today for the first time to get a haircut and my first ever straight razor shave. The place has a nice atmosphere and it was clear that the regulars there have good relationships with the folks there, but no one really said "Hi" to me when I walked in. Thats my only complaint. Im happy with the haircut that I got, but the real reason I went there was to get the straight razor shave. That was a very enjoyable experience. Stephen did a fantastic job and seemed to really know what he was doing. I think Ill make it a tradition to go back for a shave for fathers day and my birthday to treat myself.

Its tough to find a REAL barber if youre a guy. Seriously. I always look for a real barber shop and the Barber Pole Birmingham meets this criteria. Sharp looking cuts, no hair out of place, blade neck shave - these guys really know their stuff. Both Steve and Travis (admittedly, the only two barbers I have used) are talented cutters indeed - super consistent. This is a cash only place - the one downside. Highly recommended.

Dont go here! I just had a haircut by a blonde woman and she was very rough with her tools. I asked for short sides and a trim on top. All she did was use electronic clippers on the side and didnt even touch the top! When she shaved my neck, she used the electronic clippers first, then used the razor...what the..??? They are informal, just want your money and want you out. Not a good experience.

Ive recently had to find a new place to get my hair cut because the girl who I had gone to for the last couple years moved away. I stopped by The Barber Pole out of sheer convenience, but was impressed by the friendliness of the staff, the short wait and their attentiveness to my own personal style. Was able to get a great cut on my lunch break!

The Barber Pole has great service and a fantastic location. I have been there a couple of times and I will be going back. Saturdays are the most crowded days. If you are not waiting for a specific person there is almost no wait time.

On multiple occasions I have tried Great Clips or Super Cuts type places only to come back to the Barber Pole to "fix" what others had done.They are professionals.

Skip the salon, this place is much better. Reasonably priced and your hair looks good. I switched to them about a year ago and havent looked back since.

There are so many places to go, to get your haircut but this one is one of the best barber shops around.Go visit them. You will have fun.
