We used this company for wedding DJ and videography. Our major problem involved the videographer and the owner of the company. After the wedding, the videographer filmed the reception, and then went on his way. After about a month and a half, we started calling this company to see where our video was. This is where the videography dropped the bomb on us and told us that he did not get the audio for the reception entrances or SPEECHES! He claimed that the microphone broke, and did not realize this until after the speeches. I asked why he did not tell me about this the day of the wedding and his exact words were "I hoped that it would turn out alright." I requested money back, and we agreed on $300 (originally paid $1000 for videography) for then, and then I would watch the video and decide what it was worth. We got the video in the mail, put it in the DVD player, and watched in horror. The video quality looked as if they were creating a home video off of someones 1995 personal camcorder. PLUS - not only was there no audio on the speeches, but there was no VIDEO either!!! AND, there was no audio on the reception entrances!!! When we agreed on a $300 refund, the videographer told me that this was the best he could do, and that I would have to talk to the owner for further refund. I then called the owner and left a message. He called me back a couple days later, saying that he was on vacation in Niagra Falls, and did not have the information in front of him to talk about the matters now. He then told me that if he had to make a decision at that time, then "I wouldnt like it." Are you kidding me? First of all, I can appreciate if someone is on vacation and does not want to deal with work matters. However, he was very inconveninced by me calling in the first place and had so much attitude towards me. I told him it would be fine if he called me when he returned to work, even though I feel that an owner of a company should always do what is necessary to make their customers feel satisfied, wherever they are. He just called me back today. I felt that we were entitled a full refund because they failed to produce very important parts of our wedding day, and we can never have those back. Instead of owning up to their equipment failure and mistake, he claimed that he has been running a successfull business for 23 years and that he has never had a customer request a refund. He was very condescending the entire time. I asked him if he has ever butchered someones wedding video like this and he said no. I seriously doubt that, but I tried making him understand why I deserved a refund. There are parts of our wedding that we expected to have on our video, and they are not. We will never be able to show our children or family the best man, maid of honor, and father of the bride speeches. My biggest gripe is that the owner did not own up to the mistake and do the right thing by providing us with a full refund. Instead, he is keeping $700 of our hard earned dollars and taking it upon himself to assign a cost of his mistake to be only $300. I think that any responsible business owner should have done the right thing and refunded us all of our money because his group made such a terrible mistake, even if it was equipment malfunction. He is still responsible for his equipment. Both the owner and videographer were far too interseted in protecting their own wallets, and not ensuring their customer satisfcation. I come from an entrepreneur family, and we have always done what is right, regardless of what it would cost our businesses. We had to pay for the services upfront, so this is a classic case of take the money and run. It just amazes me that this owner feels that since he has the money in his possession, that he can make the final ruling according to his own values, which are despicable. Please do not give this crook any of your money. If you do, God forbid that they make a mistake at your wedding, then make you responsible for it.

I have been to many weddings where Black Tie Productions has DJd. Back in 2008 my best friend had Tony Coggins for her DJ and about five minutes into her wedding I said "that is my DJ!". Five years later I was able to find and book Tony for my own wedding. He made all the difference. Tony is able to keep control on things with out being pushy and keep things moving to accommodate the guest without stressing the bride out. He went above and beyond for not just me the bride, but for the entire wedding party. He played songs we requested and a good mix of his own selections that kept people moving on the dance floor- I literally danced all night long. There is so much relief for a bride when someone puts so much effort and consideration into your wedding as Tony did for us. The entire staff at Black Tie was amazing too. We had Michael on our photo booth and it was a total hit at the wedding. Every time I called with questions (usually speaking with Craig) he was super friendly and kept reassuring me that they wanted my day to be perfect. I also had the up-lighting with the custom dance floor monogram and both were the extra special touch that added to my reception. For the service and price nobody compares to Black Tie Productions. I could not be happier and would book them for anything again and recommend them to anyone.

Used Black Tie for our DJ and for the Photo Booth. Craig was our DJ, and he did a fantastic job. A week before the wedding he gave us a call to run over all of our special requests and everything went off as smoothly as possible. We had requested a few special songs and song mash-ups that he created and sent to us to preview before the wedding. By the time we got to the reception from the wedding, both were already fully setup and fully in action. The photo booth was well ran, full of fun props and large enough that we fit 8 people in for one picture and could have probably fit a few more if we squeezed together. The music was your typical party mix, with a good combination of slow dancing, line-dance type songs (Cha-Cha-Slide type) and normal dancing music. When the night came to an end, Craig played us music while we cleaned up and once we got to the point where we needed to get into the closet behind where we had him setup, he was packed up and out of the way very quickly. After everything was done, the photo-booth operator already had our photo-book and cd filled with all of the digital pictures completed before they left. By the time we woke up the next morning, our digital album was already uploaded for everyone else to view on the website.

We hired Black Tie for our wedding because of all the events I had attended with Black Tie doing the event. Unfortunately, my wedding didnt turn out like my dream, the sound system quit during the ceremony. It took some time to fix it but eventually it was fixed. I was told that they wear a tuxedo, I should have asked what color because it was a bright blue shirt when I was expecting a black and white tux. You pick your music before your wedding so that is a no brainer. One thing I would have done differently was to know in advance that everything works properly, know that the color they wear matches your wedding and to say no facebook during your event. You are paying and to see the DJ on his phone is very disrespectful when you paid for them to be at your event. Like I said, Black Tie was at events I had attended and thats why I picked them. However, when its your wedding I expected quality and respect. Unfortunately, my wedding was not the quality that I had seen or expected from Black Tie in the past. If you decide to use them, get every detail worked out in advance including no cell phone use.....Before my wedding I would have recommended, after my wedding, not so much.
