Worst DJ ever. Hired this company for my wedding back in July, and they sent the worst DJ to work our wedding. We were lined up to make our grand entrance and this DJ was going through his little set list with us outside before we walked in, that we already sent in weeks in advance. He then asked if we had any back up songs to any of the songs we had chosen in case he didnt have them on his computer... umm no? Thats why we sent in a list of songs at least two weeks in advance! So I was already pissed he was asking for backup songs for each of the dances. We finally make our entrance and that was just about the only song he got right. Everything else, he got completely wrong. We requested on the song sheet we sent in, that like Sinatra and classic music youd hear in Italian restaurants play during dinner, he played jazz and didnt allow requests. So there was that. Our first dance, he didnt have the right song so he played some random song, we had picked At Last - Etta James .. he didnt have it, how??? As my new husband and I danced, we were looking at him in shock. He just kinda threw up his hands and mouthed the word, sorry. Totally upsetting. Father daughter dance, I had somewhere over the rainbow by the Hawaiian man picked out, the version that EVERYONE knows.. didnt have it, instead played some creepy morbid version of the song that made everyone uncomfortable, so that sucked as well. Step father daughter dance, didnt have the right song. Everything else you could think of music wise, song selection, etc, sucked. This man didnt use the skirted table that we paid the venue extra money for, and he also brought an assistant who just sat there and ate the food and drank free drinks. Im pretty sure he was underage as well. After cake cutting, we had to cue him to start playing music again as if he didnt know what to do. We also had gotten a photo booth through them at which NO time did he make an announcement that there was a photobooth in the other room so we got a whole 12 film strips from the entire night. People thought the DJ sucked SO bad that they stayed outside on the patio and listened to the music coming from another wedding party across the courtyard. A lot of people even left because it was boring. It was totally embarrassing and my reception, my one wedding reception that I get, was completely ruined. We called Michigan Event Services about a week after that explaining the whole ordeal and they said that they had heard about how disastrous it was and promised to make it better.. they didnt do anything besides send me a box of film strip holders and frames that I should of had at the wedding so that guests could put their photobooth pictures in something. Complete bullshit. I still have friends and family talking to me about how bad my reception DJ was. I hope no one else has to go through what we did, I wouldnt recommend this company at all.

I purchased a Groupon for our whirlyball wedding reception. I called and spoke with one of the MES staff and proceeded to have everything set up via email. I am glad I called to check a few weeks before the wedding to make sure my photo booth was all set and ready to go because they said I never emailed them the contract. That was due to them sending it to another email address of mine (not the one we had been using for contact already) so I missed it. Also, I was a tad irritated to find out it was NOT a photo "booth" but more of a photo "station" with open air and a camera out in the open on a table. The Groupon images used depicted a closed booth. Also, the way they have you select you backdrop and background template is a pain in the butt. I had to go through hundreds/thousands of photos on their Facebook page to try to find a template I liked and also a back drop. It would have been MUCH more helpful had they had the templates and backdrops available on their website all in ONE spot to look at. On the upside, the open air photo "station" was still a hit at the event and Sharon (the attendant) was very sweet and always available. If I had to do it again I would still probably choose them based on the offered Groupon deal just be prepared to add a bit more work to your planning due to lack a webpage setup.

I hired Michigan Event Services for a DJ and photo booth at my wedding yesterday. I made the right choice! The photo booth hardware was high quality (good camera and a fast/high quality printer) and they had many props for my guests to use (masks, plastic guitars, swords, glasses, etc). The DJ was phenomenal as well. His music selection matched the mood perfectly. The dinner service music ranged from oldies to soft rock, there was a great mix of modern and classic hits that we could dance to, and he was able to fit in every request we had (there were many!). His personality fit our guests as well - He was able to get people off their butts and on the dance floor! If I need a DJ or photo booth in the future, I will be hiring them again and I would highly recommend booking with Michigan Event Services for any event you have.

Michigan Event Services did an excellent job providing DJ and photo booth services to our wedding held in June, 2016. They were particularly good value, and performed in line with our expectations. That said, I’m deducting one star here for the photo booth. Although they set it up properly, and it functioned as expected, the attendant that we were told would be ushering people through the process was not present for most of the night. He spent most of the night talking with the DJ at the DJ table. Some of our guests were a little hesitant to use the photo booth, and his presence would’ve been appreciated to make our guests feel welcome.

My wedding was at Addison Oaks Buhl Estate July 3rd, I probably called Sara the manager 100x before then to double/triple check things and she was always on top of everything and 5 steps ahead of me. The photobooth was the biggest hit at my wedding as I had a mixed hindu and catholic wedding it was a great ice-breaker for the two different families. The DJ Jamie was awesome, on time, looked very good in his suit and took on the task of mixing american/indian music which he completed perfectly. I would recommend their services to anyone at anytime to enhance your special day

We hired Michigan Event Services for our daughters wedding last weekend and were glad that we did! Jamie was professional and outstanding. He was very interactive with our guests during the dancing portion without being overbearing and he made the night fun for everyone. The soul train line, dance lesson and final bridal dance were all a nice surprise. Our dance floor was full and stayed full throughout the evening. Thank you, Jamie, for making this such a memorable night. You were a great DJ and we will highly recommend you in the future!
