With Netflix - you pay $8.99 a month and if you think about it: you get a movie on Monday, you watch it, put it in the mail on Tuesday, Wednesday Netflix gets it, sends out another one, you get it Thursday, you watch it, send it out Friday, Saturday Netflix gets it, you get another one on Monday, thus the cycle continues. SO you get 2 movies a week, 8 movies a month, so approximately 1 dollar per movie. NOT bad IF you stay on top of sending your movies out the NEXT day and watch your movies THE SAME DAY that they sent it. PLUS sometimes you are put on a HUGE wait for some of the newer movies. YES it has streaming through the 360, your computer and the Wii, but thats only so great if you have internet/a wii/a 360 which not all people are so fortunate so have. BUT the instant streaming doesnt allow you to get the NEW releases for a VERY long time. Its very limited. All in all: Netflix isnt all that its cracked up to be. Its nice to have on the side if you are willing to pay for it, but it doesnt give you the quality that a video store will. Nor does it have over 6,000 titles to choose from like Family Video does. As for Redbox: They violated street dates: they dont even GET new releases until 28 days after the release date. So when its $5 for 5 nights at Redbox for Iron Man 2, Family VIdeo already has Iron Man 2 priced at $3.30 for 5 nights PLUS on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday you get a free $1 rental! They also don’t have anymore than like, 90 movies to choose from at a time. As for Family Videos "Cleaning" machine. Its not a cleaner. It is a buffer. I had this explained to me one time when I complained about my disc skipping. The machine essentially buffs a layer of the DVD down. So what it is supposed to be used for is when a person comes in and says that a disc is scratched, they put it in the buffer, the machine buffs down a layer of the disc, the scratch is gone, and the video plays like new again. They also told me that unfortunately a lot of the DVD’s get thrown in the buffer the very first time it goes out to be rented because us customers want to be extra careful, and ultimately that ends up buffing down a layer and it makes the disc skip/scratched right away. It doesn’t always fix the problem, unfortunately some discs are just beyond repair! I have been a customer of Family Video, of more than 3 stores, for over 4 years, and sure for every 50 movies I rent, 6 of them dont work or skip. Sometimes that just happens. But I also rent the FREE laser lens cleaner from Family Video and clean my DVD player here and there too and that also really helps a lot. To sign up for a Family Video account its free. All you need is your license. and a phone number. You get 30 days of everything 1/2 price (on video games AND movies) and a giant sheet of coupons now. There are also like, 3 free sections to rent from as well. I always renew my half-off card, so I rarely ever spend more than 3 dollars when I go in there! The staff is always so amazing and accommodating and helpful! Yes Ive had Netflix in the past - but nothing beats coming in and getting service with a smile and getting your moneys worth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Waste of time. Netflix, Hulu, and on demand is the way to go... you are not shaking me down for 76 dollars for something your company cant tell me what was rented, when it was rented, or how much your charging for how many items. It sounds like your employee returned what ever movie was rented directly to your shelf... what a joke...

Rent Here! I do. Kids Rent Free! How much cooler does it get? I cant think of a better deal... me being a wonder dad and all. My girls love My Little Ponys and Jem. Johnny likes Robin hood and girls gone wild. Any bad review about this place is Great!... For me to poop on.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff that are always willing to help you find what you are looking for. The only drawback I would say is the lack of complete TV series. They may have season 2, 4, and 6 of a TV show but the rest are missing and have never been replaced.
