This facility is quite the eye sore, I am home from school and wanted to stay in shape and find a Planet Fitness close to home (Grosse Pointe) & ONSTAR said this was the closet. I had NO IDEA what I was walking into, upon arriving at this location I sat in my car just to get a feel for the atmosphere which was pretty mixed, then I Googled the location and read the reviews which were also mixed so then I decided "what the heck let me check it out for myself"..... After entering the building you smell the disgust of sweat and heat, which I understand, its a gym so thats natural but not at any other planet fitness Ive EVER BEEN to. I got signed in and began to walk around the gym to get an outlook of its structure after realizing the layout was none Ive ever seen before I went to the front desk to ask if someone could show me around....The gentlemen who disturbingly looked at who I think was the MANAGER because of his shirt (Black) asked me hesitantly "Can I help you with something"? I proceed and said yes I am home from school & have never been to this location before can someone please show me around? He said "Yes" I did mention that he didnt have to give me a "Full tour" but kinda let me know where everything was, when I tell you he did it in 0.5 seconds he pointed quickly talked low and then said QUICKLY "Is there anything else" I said NOPE! So I would have to say my overall experience wasnt to bad I still worked out but I wouldnt recommend staying at this location while its dark the neighborhood and some people look shady as well as this locations literally STINKS the staff sits in a corner & talk to each other, I cant say that I will or wont be back but you can count on me NOT recommending this location to ANYONE LIKE EVER in life!!!

PROS: Relatively clean gym, cheap membership starting from $10 plus sign up fee, large cardio area, open 24hrs, decent free weights selection, good variety of resistance machines, x4 Smith machines, x6 cable pull machines, decent quality leather benches, separate stretching and abs area, free water dispenser, drinks available to buy, spacious locker room, disabled toilets at front, free t-shirt upon sign up, free pizza on Monday and free bagels on Tuesday mornings for members, free WiFi, plentiful car parking, seperate tanning and message chairs for black card members, decent atmosphere and not too busy. CONS: Staff knowledge (nice people but they dont know anything about the machines, exercises, or supplementation), no gym accessories (e.g. belts, gloves, etc) or protein available to purchase (Muscle Milk doesnt count), no squat machine, no Olympic weights, only 1 leg press machine, only couple of decline benches, no t-bars, no standing calf machine, tiny barbel/ ez bar selection, only one pull up bar, only 2 dips rack, awful music, average toilets, sinks area are always wet (hardly anyone cleans up their spills), lockers require own pad lock or they sell a overpriced cheapo lock ($7), replacement t-shirts are overpriced ($10) and so are the water bottled ($10), and 12 months contact with early cancelation fee.

Not the best place to exercise. Litter all over outside. Instead of workers standing around they could be picking trash up. Paper towel runs out every time I visit. The speakers to listen to the tvs on.the equipment is the pits. No matter which equpment I workout on there is always staric on the stations. Even went and bought new ear buds, no difference, it is definitely in the equipment. Sometimes when I plug in to listen the volume is in the mid 20s telling me the previous customer had the same issue. I have complained many times. One employee even used earbuds to listen to what I was talking about. He agreed there was an issue that was over a year ago. You definitely get what you pay for here! A dumpy place...think twice

Pros, Cheap Cons, Smith machines Over crowded Low weights Planet fitness is perfect for someone just starting to work out. I found myself (after 8 months) growing out of the weights that were provided. The whole pizza this is the biggest joke ever. How can a company advertise healthy living with pizza every week? I understand the whole "live a little" concept, but really?... The staff is good at this location. They all are kind and always have smiles on their faces. They keep the place nice and clean. All and all, if you want to test the waters with working out then go to PF. If you stick with it, you will find yourself not able to grow anymore after a few months. Thats why Im going to LA fitness.

Ive been a member almost 2 years Pros: Friendly staff, Eric the manager is very helpful, and Marvin the trainer very knowledgeable helped me with a new chest routine thanks Marvin. Good price, brand new treadmills, lots of tvs and music playing, massage beds are great, good hours Cons: No more free bars have to use smith machine for benching, if youre a heavy lifter this is not the gym for you I saw a review about price, yes they have specials all the time right now 5 down, 10 a month sometimes it is higher, I recommend just wait for a special before xmas they had a whole year prepaid for 99 dollars so good specials come all the time.

I been going here since I got my membership. The place is just okay. The staff is usually friendly and the bathrooms have always been clean. But I must say their tanning beds SUCK. Just wondering when was the last time the bulbs were changed??!! I think they need newer tanning beds. It seems its taken me a month to get any kind of color. And the biggest issue for me is.... wtf is in those spray bottles? I mean is it really disinfecting the equipment?! Looks and smells like water. And Im sick of seeing the people using the machines and NOT wiping it down like they are supposed to.

11 mile: dirty...floor uneven...tanning bad...womens bathroom stinks needs remodeling. Womens locker room smells. Lockers old/many broken. No stretching cage. No ceiling fan in stretching room or 30 minute workout room. Finally got new treadmills. Hours not as good as 15 mile. 15 mile: new, clean, tanning is great...2 stretching cages...fan in 30 min. workout room. Fancier tanning with zen type music. Staff friendlier than 11 mile. Higher ceiling, structured in a roomier building. Better/newer machines. I love 15 mile. 15 mile is better than Clinton twp. & 11 mile.

Quality of service - sometimes wonderful, sometimes not. Good value, clean, new treadmills, nice tvs and massage beds. Flaws: 1. Not 24/7, this should be fixed immediately. Only open 24 hours on Mondays-Thursdays. Friday - Sunday hours are impossible. Other Planet Fitness Gyms have 24/7 hours. 2. No Wi-Fi: Other planet fitness gyms have wi-fi. 3. No stair climbers. 4. No stretching cages, inadequate room to stretch or do yoga. Overall, this is a decent barebones gym. It gets the job done, and I do like the atmosphere as a low-intensity exerciser.

I liked the place overall, but when i paid to cancel my membership, everything was fine.THEN 3 MONTHS LATER THEY STARTED CHARGING MY CARD AGAIN SAYING MY MEMBERSHIP WAS ACTIVE AND WANTED ME TO PAY THE CANCELLATION FEE AGAIN! Spoke to the supervisor Ashley and she was very rude and no help at all AND EVEN HUNG UP ON ME! AND WHEN I CALLED BACK,SHE HAD OTHER ASSOCIATES ANSWERING TRYING TO COVER FOR HER AND NEVER GOT HER BACK ON THE PHONE! They continued to charge my card and I had to go to a whole new bank so they could stop taking my money.
