The gym is dirty, equipment is constantly broken. The broken equipment takes forever to be repaired. The staff...well they stay out of the way which is nice. Ive put up with it for several years. This gym is mediocre at best. However, my locker was broken into (it was locked) and all of my belongings were stolen - and the answer I received from the staff was, "wow, that sucks". There was no assistance offered, and zero concern. I immediately left to cancel all my credit cards. I called 2 days later and spoke to the operations manager, Jason, and he told me that he would avoid bringing items such as a watch or a wallet into the gym. There was nothing they could do, and they dont have cameras anywhere in the building to see who may have been in the gym that day. After I told him how tight security was at LifeTime Fitness, he told me he would gladly close my account for me. I am now closing my account with LA Fitness, as I feel invaded, someone made off with my wallet, my ID, and other personal belongings and no one seems to have any sympathy or even a kind word of apology.

Gym membership is one of those things thats hard to screw up, or so I thought. Terrible. Extremely high staff turnover so no accountability for the account changes made without you knowing (always blame it on, oh, well they no longer work here so....) and they are pressured to upsell anything and everything possible. They make everything complicated and route you to someone to have them upsell you. Want to cancel? Oh, they make that impossible too. Theres a form you can only receive by showing up in person at the club you signed up in, and thats a link you have to go home and printout and snail mail in amd hope they actually cancel it. The link is not available to you online without them generating it, just so they make sure you show up in person. Oh, and there is an on the spot cancel option, if you manage to show up at your originating club during the club managers extremely limited availablity, which I never could get.

It was the worst gym experience I ever encountered in my life. The personal trainers interupt your work out, very unprofessional, after school kids would be in the gym taking up all the equipment, I set up a free hour of training I went up there after a long day of work he wasnt there the front desk said I wasnt even on the schedule. I wasted my time and money at this place. They kept taking money out my account even though I cancel my membership. I called up there to express my feeling towards the manager the guy over the phone was very rude and refuse to put the manager on the phone. Half the time NOBODY be at the front desk anybody could just walk in so why I should I pay if I can just sneak in LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE. I was strongly considering filing a BBB report. I had to cancel my credit card so they could stop charging me. Just a bad experience over all.

Lets go with what is horrible about this place just today because to go over everything would be too hard. The tvs on all the cardio play nickelodeon (as if kids use these machines) and bravo but not wings or tigers games. The parking lot had a diaper sitting in plain view of the front door where several employess just stand around. I didnt even make it to the lockerroom today, and usually thats the worst part, so i guess thats why it earned 1 star instead of 0. Rude employess who make sure to not help you whenever they can.

the first time when i signed up ... the staff didnt show me around the gym because he was rushing my papers so he could get to the next customers who were a couple and wanting to sign up for 2 yrs each which was 780 dollars and my monthly payment was 30.00 lol ... i went the next day i didnt get my one hour of free training and when i went to take a shower i didnt realize that they didnt have towels because no one showed me around or told me about it ... Disrespectful staff members starting from the manager and ending with the janitor. Rude treatment and dirty environment. Every time you go there, there will always be something that is broken or not operating in the right way. They lost 4 members in one hour because of misbehaving and giving people an attitude for doing nothing! Avoid signing up there, if you can join another gym. I will never recommend anybody to go there anymore!!

Nice gym and all but went to shower today 5/8/17 and there was a guy standing in the shower with his phone face timing someone. No phone call is that important where you cannot wait till after a shower. Told the front desk as I was walking out and all they said was that it is weird and that they would have their manager take a look. Did not make it an urgent thing even though I think that should be something that is urgent

Horrible gym, equipment was broken...i originally told the guy i can to do chest and triceps and i needed a day pass...he signed me,my brother, and step dad up for $45 total for the day passes....worst $45 i ever spent. After he signed us up and i paid he mentions none of the cables are in working order. NOT A SINGLE PAIR OF LEGGINGS IN THAT GYM ...no eye candy...worst gym ever especially for the ridiculous pricing.

Of the metro detroit locations, this one is my favorite. Top 2 spin room, never overly crowded, equipment is in good shape, smoothie/convenience bar. The only real gripe I have is that they never have enough barbell collars. I swear some days I can only locate a single pair in the whole gym. I get that its probably because people are stealing them, but it still sucks on heavy lifting days.

I go to this gym 7 days a week and am very satisfied. Only reasons I dont give it 5 stars is because a) sometimes they take a while to fix a piece of equipment, not really a big deal I just substitute it in my routine b) the pool area is swarmed with old people c) theyre not 24 hours, which none of the LA fitness are. Overall, very good gym and the basketball is great too!

I dont understand these bad reviews. Gym is very clean, there is always someone at the front desk, sauna and pool are clean. They check the pH and chemical levels more than once a day. Locker rooms are spacious. Dont know why people are being so critical. If youre not happy, go pay 3x more for Lifetime and stop complaining.

poorly maintained sauna had rotten boards causing an elderly man to fall through. first response from management was "We arent responsible for damages and we can revoke your membership of you do not stop taking photos". Equipment should be maintained! find a better gym this one is garbage.

Beware.. you will be trapped into annual membership scam which you can not cancel unless you pay about $1200. I tried to cancel after 3 and half day but they refused to cancel as I crossed 3 day grace period. I was not aware of contract thing in the beginning.
