I went to Salon West out of convenience and because the website advertises haircuts from $25-$30 which is cheaper than what I normally pay. I wish I had read the review of Don before I agreed to let him cut my hair. The experience from wash to cut to dry and style was horrible. First of all, I agree that he might be insane. He was in such a hurry the whole time and jerked my head around so much I felt like I had whiplash by the time I left. He didnt listen to a thing I said about my hair and just talked over me saying "oh yeah, uh huh, I know exactly what you want. Ill fix you up." And the whole time he cut my hair he told me how horrible of a job my last stylist had done. After he finished cutting I tried to get him to cut more because it wasnt how I wanted it and he just tried talking me into letting him dry it, saying he could cut more afterwards, so I let him dry it. After drying I still expressed my dislike and he just said things like, "well you have to admit it looks better now than when you walked in." and "Hey I was just fixing someone elses mess." "Next time I can do better." Next time?? There will be no next time. So he sent me on my way and charged me $45!! I complained to the cashier about the price since that was much more than the website stated and she just said, "Well Don charges more." She acted like there was nothing she could do about it and just asked me if I wanted to leave a tip. I did not leave a tip and I will never return to Don.

My bridal party and my mom got our hair done at Salon West the morning of my wedding. I only booked about 2 weeks before, but they were so friendly and helpful and treated that like no big deal (I was sure Id never find a place at that late notice that could take all 7 of us). Allison, Don, and Jim were our stylists. All were efficient and friendly. We were all pleased with our various updos and the whole experience. We started at 8:30 and were done by 10:30. The styles lasted through the evening and my mom kept hers up through work on Monday! She plans to go back for a haircut soon! I didnt ask around a ton of places for prices, but it was on par with some and half of the highest I heard.
