"Michael", who wrote a "review," on Dec 3, 2007, is probably guilty of slander, and libel. There is no brick wall in this shop, and the owner-barber does first-rate work; nothing like described by "Michael," who is obviously a troll, and has, also obviously, never seen the inside of this shop. Anthony, the proprietor of 4433 Barber Shop is a class act. As others have mentioned, his shop is old-school. Anthony is dedicated to customer service. For $19 (as of this writing), you get a lot: haircut (done to customer specification), straight-razor removal of neck hair, eyebrow trim, ear hair trim, shampoo, and massage. Anthony offers other barber services as well: dyeing, waxing, perms, etc. Anthony has a small dog, Giorgio, who will angle for your attention, and may even sit in your lap, if you let him. Anthony owned a much larger shop, in the suburbs, at one point, but decided to escape those environs, relocating to this little house in Kansas Citys Antique District. Even as a one-man show, hes not too busy to fit a new client into his schedule. Give him a call today. You wont be sorry!

(This review is from 2012) I guess my laptop didnt allow my comment to go through the first time. Im starting to look for a regular barber because I was tired of barber colleges even though not big on making an appointment first time doing that. The shop is closed on Monday gave him a call after reading the reviews and had to call on Tuesday got me in that morning. A bit nervous hardly spoke and was surprised to see he was an older guy because on the phone sounded young. The shoulder massage was the best as was the shampoo. Im not a big spender and realize that haircuts into the $20 range is a take it or leave it deal. I gave him a $20 and told him to keep the 1 dollar. I discovered Eddie Delahunts Cafe on the way to the bus stop and got a muffin. We need more businesses out of a house.

Just went in one day after having driven past for years. I have the hardest head of hair to cut and have never had anyone do as good a job as Anthony the owner did. For over a year now I drive further to him then pay some "fast cut" place to mess my hair up in ten minutes hurrying to get me out as fast as possible and charge me the same Anthony would. Here Anthony takes the time and has the skill to give you the perfect hair cut. Ive been a customer for over a year NO complaints. Great job every time! And you get that cool old school message machine after. You leave feeling like you could take on the world. Must check it out! Like I said he does not rush you in and out he gets the job done right. Give yourself an hour to pamper yourself.

Anthony did a great job cutting my hair. Ive been a customer of chain barbershops/hairstylists in the past (a la Fantastic Sams and the like), but I dont think Im ever going back. The atmosphere is classy and relaxed, and the barbershop itself is housed in an old house on the Missouri side of State Line Road. One barber, one chair, and a great haircut experience. The cut, straight razor trimming of the edges, shampoo, scalp and shoulder massage were all included. Im very happy with this barber and will be coming back when I need another cut. Id recommend it to anyone in the area.

Could not get into my regular shop. Anthony took me on short notice and I had a fine experience. This Michael guy must have some vendetta...there is no brick wall in Anthonys shop. My experience was old school with hot lather, a great neck massage with a vintage machine and the cut was great. Parking is tight so get there on time. Im ready for the town! Thanks Anthony! Stephen

Got my first haircut here and never came back. Was supposed to do a shave on my head and a beard trim, but youd think the guy had never used a straight razor before. I left with my head and neck a bloody mess, with scars on my head that took months until they faded to the point of being no longer noticeable. All at the cost of $31. What a joke.

This was the fourth barber Id tried since moving to KC last year - and all I can say is, "FINALLY!" Anthony runs a professional, classy operation - like barber shops from decades past. His shop is clean and comfortable. The haircut, shave, and attention to detail he provided were way more than I expected... especially for the price. -Ryan

What a refreshing experience! Anthony keeps a classy shop and runs a nice operation. He has been at his current location for nearly a decade and it is a simple and clean little gem tucked away in the Arts & Antiques District near Westwood. He offers a wonderful service at a very fair price.

Anthony does excellent work and gives great value for the price. $19 will get you a great haircut, hot shave, shampoo, eyebrow trim, and shoulder massage. I would recommend him to any guy looking to get a classy haircut. A trip to 4433 is definitely worth it.

For being a 24 year old man, its hard to find a barber that knows current hair trends and can cut then with ease. Anthony far exceeded my expectations. Best $20 Ive ever spent at a barber shop. I highly recommend this shop to anybody of any age.
